Shenmue is a great game but it simply isn't a very profitable one. It will be a while before we see shenmue 3. I would rather have shenmue 1 & 2 on psn/xbox live

In regards to the article, I never had a chance to play Shenmue, but from what I hear from my friends, its a really awesome game...guess I should check it out when I get a chance.

Yes, it should have tons of good games, of course, every console should. My only gripe is that I fear the game would not have that of a big audience on the Wii. I won't bash any Wii owner - I have one myself - but I would rather see it on PS3 or XBox360.

So long as the format is equal to or below the default format. In this case we have the Wii that can play DVD's and mini DVD's (GC games). A fw patch or emu to add in the ability to read code from other optical discs can be done. Look into how bleem was able to allow a PC cd rom or dvdrom to read and play PS1 games.

Other emus out there allow for reading neogeo cd's as well as sega and nec turbo cd's. Getting the wii to do it would be a cheap way to allow the addition of more games for the unit to play. It becomes a Wii-MAME so to speak. Instead of playing the roms, you get to use the actual discs themselves.

It would save on converting the game code into a dl version. The down side is nintendo would not be able to regulate the use because you would be using your own copies of the games instead of dl roms. It is possible but it may not be very profitable for nintendo.

yea man, sorry but shenmue was the SECOND greatest game of all time but unfortunetely they quit the damn series.

it would have held a spot right next to metal gear(no better......no worse)

but they just had to stop......................
i guess only kojima had the heart to keep going

sidenote: for anybody reading my comment.........please don't start bashing mgs. i'm a huge shenmue fan and i respect what they both offer. i'm just playing around...........because half the people on this site cant tell sarcasm from a dinasour.

i completely agree that shenmue is one of the greats in fact i rate it as my second favorite game next to FF7 (dont start an argument about ff7 please)

but the most revolutionary game i have played is definately Shenmue it did everything before everyone people like to talk about WRPG's such as oblivian but this game did it before them and it did it with a better fighting system and a better storyline like no other. Also it was a whole console generation ahead in terms of everything it delivered. The graphics (amazing for its time even holds up somewhat today) the whole world was ridiculously big in that game with the ammount of things going on a whole city was basically rendered and beutifully i might add. And i am only talking about the DC version but if this came out for the ps3/360 let alone at all it would be awesome to see what it could do, the storyline alone is worth the sequel to me

I dont even own a wii (dont like it) and i am thinking of buying the games to support the revinue for shenmue games. I moved back home from college and our house has dial-up and i am posting this, this should tell you i took the time on dial-up to sign in and post this

p.s. the game i miss most right now with not being able to play online is warhawk
