Torque 360 Chosen Engine for Penny Arcade Games

From the article: "Torque 360, GarageGames' game engine for the Xbox 360, has been selected by Hothead Games for Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-slick Precipice of Darkness. Penny Arcade Adventures is a 3D cell-shaded RPG-Adventure game set in a deranged comic-book-meets-pulp-horror universe. Armed with unconventional weaponry, players join forces with the Startling Developments Detective Agency to make war on bizarre enemies and solve the mysteries hidden deep in the sinister heart of New Arcadia..."

Chosen to be fully crossplatform and yet no PS3 or Wii support
You would think a group (Penny Arcade) whose core audience plays across all platforms would try to be more inclusive.

Part of me thinks this was a move done on purpose NOT to support the other platforms, like some sort of anti-Sony outburst or something. I wonder who was responsible for that decision, the publisher or developer or both?

Funny thing is .... they tout their crossplatformness in the article.

I personally don't think it is intentional but it is insulting.

If you look for problems then that is all you will ever find. The engine they chose is not supported on the PS3. The reason they chose this engine is for it's large support dynamic, i.e. 4 different platforms, and so that they did not have to develop an engine from the ground up.

Quote from the article: "Rather than building platform code from from the ground up, using Torque gave us far more time to hone the actual game."

This is an entry game by a small developer and an even smaller idealistic base of creators, hothead and penny arcade respectively. Try to remember that gaming is not restricted to strictly consoles.

I remember an interview with gabe and tycho (P.A. creators) where they expressed that they wished they could of chosen something to support the PS3, but the support dynamics for publishing a game was not there enough for them to restrict it further by choosing a engine that would not support as many platforms. I'll try to dig it up and edit it in.
