Firmware 2.35 does NOT fix GTA IV

As you should already know, firmware 2.35 is now available for download. On the official Playstation Blog, where the news has erupted, user stlthriot asked in a comment if the new firmware would fix GTA IV.

A staff member replied:

"I just want to clarify that this upcoming firmware update isn't related to GTA IV. For those of you who may still have an issue playing the game on your PS3, we have identified a solution that should resolve the issue. You can contact SCEA Consumer Services for support - their contact info and hours of service, as well as more information on this issue, are available in our Knowledge Center (http://playstation.custhelp.com/)."

I hope atleast Rockstar patches the servers. I hate get that stupid error, "one or more players disconnected/ returning to single player" bullcrap.

We shouldn't expect Sony to fix the problems with GTA4 anyways. The problems don't originate from Sony, but of the developer. I am sure Rockstar is working around the clock.

I read that much, I was hoping for specifics though.

I hate how they do that. You get an update and you don't know exactly what it does. Like with any electronic device that requires periodic updates, it might cause a separate problem.

At least we find out what most of our updates do.

When I owned a Wii I only got 3 or 4 updates in a year, and most of them were things like an on-screen clock or an 'everybody votes' channel, or a Mii contest Channel.

As well as releasing few updates Nintendo also give no indication what is in the update. You have to navigate round your menus to see what has changed.
At least Sony have almost one update a month (sometimes more) and list changes like DTS-HD Master Audio, DivX support...

...in game XMB (I wish)

At least tell me what games are going to be affected by this update. I think there will be another update in time for MGS4 and I think that will give us something we can understand.

I told you a firmware update WONT fix GTA 4, why won't any one beleave me, just go rent the game and change the disc, delete the prevous install and see what happens, I have the Pal 60gb PS3 and hae conpleated the game with NO problems (as in the freezes that have been reported on the Unit).

You have the PAL 60 Gig, which has the same internal components as the US 80 Gig, which is not affected by the freezing glitch. Its a small subset of the 20 and 60 Gig North American systems that are having the problem.

Okay, a theory here: This might not be stability towards already released titles, but an update to make the PS3 "ready" for some titles coming out soon?
As for the GTA IV problems: i haven't really encountered that many problems at all. The only problems i have encountered is multiplayer related, and probably neither a sony nor rockstar problem.

Rockstar or Sony needs to fix that "one or more players disconnected/ returning to single player" asap, don´t know who´s responsible for it.
I haven´t been able to play more than maybe 4 times online since I got it. F**k it´s making me angry, paying money for a game you can´t play online.

This is exactly what I was afraid of when they had to focus on two games
at the same time. I guess the GOOD old GTA games are not to be seen no more. Sadly....

Yup,you heard it here first,

The 2.35 firmware update stops files floating about!,What do i mean by this,well,once you update your firmware.You can then place files,like,house hold bills under your PS3!.wow!
