A new €199 Xbox360 bundle is set to hit Europe tomorrow 15 May 2008. The bundle contains a core Xbox 360 console, a 512 MB memory card, two wireless controllers, Halo 3 and Project Gotham Racing 4.

4 - This may be cheaper then the US price with all the stuff that is bundled.
I wonder why MS refuses to drop the price in the US. I mean its been 2.5 years and its only dropped $20 for the Core and $50 for the Pro. Its like they are trying to shoot themselves in the foot.

4.1 - It makes financial sense.
They haven't dropped the price in North America yet because they still have market supremacy here. As soon as the PS3 comes close to passing the 360 in market saturation they'll drop the price. It doesn't make sense for them to sell the console for less than they need to if it's selling well.
Everywhere in Europe excepting the UK the Xbox isn't doing so well so it would make sense for them to try to make the console look more attractive with a lower price tag. The same goes for Japan.

You get a FREE month of Live Gold when you make a new account and you can store your profile and games saves on the 512MB memory card. So again it will cost you NOTHING extra to go online and PLAY.

So many trolls so little time...

EDIT: @Below yes, but ONE month is more than enough to show HOW LIVE IS MUCH BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE OUT THERE ON THE OTHER SYSTEMS thus making it worth the WHOLE $4 a month.

Who the hell said you had to play it online. Perhaps the person that is interested in this bundle have no plans to play online. It's simple if you plan on playing online, do the math and decide which version to buy.

Stop tryin to rain on the bundle's parade with you negative hating attitudes. For what you get in this bundle that is a great deal. I have friends that bought the pro bundle that don't even play online. People will make the choices that best suits them so stop hating.

With the games and the two wireless controllers thats a sweet deal!

I don't know if its going to be enough to trun the tide in this region though, as the 'arcade pack' has been selling here for less than that and didn't seem to stimulate sales much.

One thing is for sure, if you were sitting on the fence and waiting for a time to 'dive in' its never been better value for money - especially for the significant number of people who have no intention of going on line, and therefor don't really car about hard disc's or any live payments. there are a lot of people in that position..

The largest on mine is 2mb. Not exactly sure though, I'll check. Just checked, Average around 400kb-800kb(Gta4 being just under 800). But Mass effect is 1mb and all my orange box saves come to 60MB.

Yeah, I only want a 360 of my own (my roomate has the 360, I have the PS3, even though I paid for both :)) For Fable 2... so I don't know if I really need the HD, what do you guys think?? I already use my PS3 for any media playing and any storage (I have a Western Digital 750gig External Hook up) so I only need game data, you think that 520 mb will be enough, what kind of card is it??? SD???? or is it a specialty card?

I only ask the tech questions because I am at work and can't see some pages in entirely, and this is one of them.

Where i live everyone makes fun of x360 and the few people that have x360 is mod chipped. they will buy a mod chipped x360 not this bundle

Sales might be "dead", but I'm sure a lot of people who bought their 360 still enjoy playing on them... they don't need to go out and buy a new console every month to prove their (our) point.

Why would sony even have to respond? All sony's come with an HD which automatically makes any bundle without one a non issue to sony. If Xbox came out with a bundle like this with a 20 gig... that is a different story. But this bundle isn't even a real threat to sales imo.

I wonder why in the world Microsoft continues to sell Xbox 360's with NO HARD DRIVES and sell the other 2 models with hard drives. I guess it's their way of being cheap.

But, that bundle sure doesn't top the PS3 GTA4 bundle though. That Project Gotham game and Halo 3 are old.

has everyone been brainwashed by Sony into believing you need a HDD?

1. NOt everyone can afford the added expense of broadband
2. NOt everyone gets broadband where they live.
3. Some parents do NOT want their kids playing online
4. You can buy one with out a HDD to play the best games out there right now!! like COD4 and GTA4 for example. Didn't GTA4's sales and superior techs specs on 360 already prove yo do not need a HDD to play the game?
5. SOme poeple are CHEAP or just cant afford an expensive console. When the time is right for them and they can afford it, they can always buy the HDD later.

again...you do not need a HDD or Blu-Ray to start playing the best games this gen has to offer right now!!
