....back in the 90's was MS heavily invested on the console platy-form, besides the PC?

Give me a good reason why they shouldn't?

Look at sony where they stand now as a developer. They are pretty big but started small ya know.

3 - New game studio.
They needed to open a new studio, first party dev is very important in the games industry. As we have all seen from Nintendo's success, and Sony's having the largest games studios in the industry.

This isn't a game studio.

It was reported on the news here in Canada awhile back that its a PC software & Internet technologies center. The article doesn't even mention games at all.

5 - Good news for some, not so good for ---> that other side.
Growth = more gaming down the pipeline, have to meet the high demand of game sales the Xbox brand puts up.

Xbox = gold :) even with billions they put up for repairs can't stop the money train that is Xbox.
