one of the most important things about mmos are community size , without it a mmo cant survive and looking at console install base figures its obvious that there just isn't enough people out there to provide a mmo with grounds to survive , hell not even the wii could support one due to the type of people that buy the console (most of them have never even heard of a mmo ) .
Here one to chew on , how many people % wise do you think are willing to pay to play a game ?? most people dont even understand the concept and think its a rip off .
Personally i dont think any MMO will come out before Sony or MS have a install base of at least 30 m , as for Wii you can forget about it cause nintendo dont want social interactions on there console

um, age of conan and huxley are 2 mmorpg's that are announced to be coming to the 360 within one year, and they both have better graphics then final fantasy..

if halo3 can sell 8 million units, thats more then enough for an mmo to survive, actually most mmo's namely sony mmo's like EQ 1-2, vangaurd, swg, and matrix online ect.. do not have anymore then a few hundred thousand subscribers and they are "living". i mean, 300,000 x 12 dollars a month = 3.6 million a month in subscribtion fees... thats pretty decent for selling a virtual service..

Although I hate sony mmorpgs, they are horrible grindfests, I honestly believe if it wasn't for sony mucking with all these mmorpgs and ruining them to get every penny they can from the userbase.. world of warcraft wouldn't be doing nearly as well as it is.. only sony could ruin an mmo based on the star wars franchise..

which i assume with all crazy possible price drop for most it will get to 250 in 2-3 years

well what about a new MS console? 500-600price tag?
which the online community is not as built up as xbox 360 nor PS3 with MUCH less user base?

I just don't see how releasing a new console within 2-3 years will make MS get a so-called lead again, it will be more likely be the original xbox, labeled as a good console but not in the right timing

I'm not going to spend my free time searching for the article, but it may have been in PSU online, I think. If you noticed, the freezing problem was really isolated to the "old" ps3 units that were discontinued. Then further confusion was made when FALSE reports of rampant freezing on both consoles. If that were the case, why was a patch only released for the PS3? But in regards to it being a hdd related issue, something about a difference between the 40 gig ps3 inner parts and the different parts the "old" ps3 had in them. Also further proof sony cannibalized the ps3, because why would you change anything inide the system so soon? And don't say because prices have dropped..........not that fast they havent.

The issue was down to network interference allowed while playing the game and saving.
There was no issue with hard drives what so ever, and the cases that were problematic of hard drives were within faulty hardware ratios.

Unplugging from the internet helped while playing the story mode, and then plugging back in if you wanted to play online.
But this was only for a small number of people, in the 100,000 at most, if I'm not mistaken.

The original Xbox had a hard drive, but it wasn't as lucrative as having a "sold separately" add on.
Not to remove unwanted side effects, but to get more money for something that has a case on it.

You also have to play into factor Persistant Online Games aren't free you pay for them. For XBOX 360 to have some that would mean you would have to pay on top of your subcription to XBOX Live.

With the PlayStation 3 it's like a PC (Personal Computer) online is free for everyone but not persistant online games. Some games will be free on the PlayStation 3 but for the most part persistant online games have subscriptions.

Don't forget you can use mouse / key boards for PlayStation 3 games as well.

Huxley and age of conan also aviable on PC? I know but I prefer to play them on my PC, and both titles are not that good, been there done that, they are not good, AoC looks pretty but is too generic and the gameplay lacks on improvement, I hope they can do free patches for the 360 version

I guess you're not really up on the MMO news. Sony already announced The Agency, which is due this holiday season and also 2 unannounced NCSoft exclusive MMO's in the works.

Another point is that MMO's require HDD's which aren't standard on 360's. So you're going to have to purchase a hard drive, purchase the game, pay for your Live subscription, the monthly fee for the MMO and your monthly internet access bill.

Compared to the PS3, pay for the game, the monthly fee for the game, your monthly internet internet access bill and your option of using a mouse and keyboard.

The FACT is that PS3 users have the option to control MMO's with either the controller or full keyboard and mouse support for those who prefer to play it that way.
That is the point of all this, your shoulder buttons argument is invalid because PC games have never relied on them since the days of Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem and Doom.

Yeah The Agency looks cool as does Huxley which is also an FPSMMO, and that'll probably give them a stronger chance of success given the FPS fans on consoles.

But the ones I'm really watching are APB on 360 and Alpha Protocol on 360 & PS3 which looks very different to the rest. A spy MMO could be very cool indeed.

TF2, R6V2, COD4 and GTA IV all REQUIRED a patch a week after launch to make them playable on PSN.

Thats a great track record. Home delayed and delayed and he thinks he can talk smack about releasing better MMO's on PSN? I think his crystal ball has some vaseline smudges on it.

Whats the odds MSGO will work on launch day? Not very good.

PS3 MMO's coming(that we know of): 4-5 NCSoft MMO's including old IP's and new Ip's...they make very good MMO's, New Realms, The Agency, DC Comics and there are porbably more. Stop being a fanboy Jenzo. Xbox 360 is a FLOP.

PS3 has a one up on the MMO front. Keyboard plus mouse support for PS3 vs. strictly keyboard support on the Xbox 360. This configuration alone interests consumers, I know it interests me.

Playing a MMO on a controller isn't nearly as satisfying. I tried playing World of Warcraft with a Xbox 360 controller and really five minutes later I unplugged the controller and in goes my KB/M.
