I mean I put in this blu ray and I was watching this movie and it started off quite fast paced, then all of a sudden the person stopped moving and they died. Then I remembered Uncharted is a game and I started to play it =)

Read most post properly before telling me I'm wrong. Wildarmsjecht is correct. I wasn't talking about the whole of Europe. Just most of it. I thought that was pretty clear.

Dude go back to school.
If the only country its not leading in is the BIGGEST selling country then it would not necessarily be leading overall.

Lets say Europe 20 countries (I know its not) and Sony owns 19 of them but they only sell 5K each. But the UK, the one country Xb might still own thanks to a 16 month lead sells PS3's slower and is still behind XB. Then XB could still be in front overall even though it already lost 19 out of 20 countries. Just like USA is the only country stopping the world wide sales from being a white wash.

is also a crap load cheaper. Can you imagine if sony spontaneously dropped their prices to wii levels? I doubt the wii's lead would last a year if sony could keep up production numbers/stay in business. Obviously the ps3 is geared for a long term approach whilst the wii is short term. The wii may have a long life, but sales will not be able to continue at the present rate. I would definately class wii as last gen, but end of last gen so it has a good chance of carrying thru with the ps3/360

9 - PS3 outselling 360 in Europe is expected

It's very simple really. The Playstation brand as a whole has a huge following, and has more established game franchises that people know and love. Plus you can't forget that Sony has already introduced numerous of new IP's on the PS3( Uncharted, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, etc...) Both the PS1 and PS2 sold over 100 million units, so it's only natural that people are going to buy PS3's regardless if the PS3 has better games out or not because people know that Sony ALWAYS delivers when it comes to games.

It still surprises me that even though the Xbox 360 is cheaper in Europe and the 360 came out a YEAR earlier, and the 360 had bigger game titles that the PS3 has already outsold it in just 1 year.

All I've got to say is that it's only a matter of time before the PS3 outsells the Xbox 360 Worldwide. It may not seem like the PS3 will outsell the 360 right now, but Sony hasn't even released it's big system seller games yet. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was a huge hit in Europe and sold over a million units just in pre-orders, and it even wasn't the full game. Just imagine how successful the full version of GT5 will be when the full game drops.

By the end of 2009, I think that the PS3 will be within 1-2 million units of outselling the Xbox 360.

The 2009 Exclusive lineup looks even more promising for Sony: Killzone 2, God of War 3, Wardevil, Twisted Metal, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, White Knight Chronicles, L.A. Noire, and other games that have yet to be confirmed for 2009. Microsoft definantly has some VERY tough competition on there hands because once Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out next month, the PS3 will officially be in high gear and will be taking it to the next level.

The PS3 is on the verge of a big comeback.

Except dont forget Microsoft has Gears of War 2. It's my top anticipated 360 game. Actually, probably my only anticipated 360 game right now lol. Ninja Gaiden II is alright, I didn't like Sigma all that much anyway. Alan Wake? Not enough information. Fable 2? Rent.

No matter how 360 fans are going to spin this, but so far the 360 exclusives THIS YEAR just aren't as enticing as Sony's line up.

*Sigh* Only 4.5 weeks til MGS4.

9.2 - One last territory to go

USA

This territory will easily succumb to the Ps3 by late 2009.

There is no verge. The tide changed - the War was over - late last year with the massive price drop. And there will likely be another one before the end of this year.

A lot of Americans are buying the Wii and will likely also pick up a Ps3 as a NEXT GEN FIX when the price is right.

Also, there will be a lot of Americans who are ps2 owners and haven't as yet bought a new gen console(Wii, x360, ps3). The great Ps2 migration is yet to come.

And also, DVD still dominates but once HD TV becomes more common, the switch to Bluray is inevitable. All good news for the Ps3 as it's one of the best bargain player on the market.

Metal Gear Solid 3 sold 3.4 million with an install base of 80 million ps2's. It does make you wonder how many people actually want to play this game. I can't wait for it myself however I'm just not Sure MGS is that appealing to a broader audience. Then again I might be wrong but the numbers of MGS3 are there and they do speak volumes.. Then again MGS 4 might change all this.

First of all MGS3 has sold almost 4 million copies. Second, we have about half a million subsistance as well. And on the other hand, I can say that MGS2 sold about 8 million copies (dunno over how many years thou) but I'm sure MGS4 will do quite good since I can't remember any other MGS game being this hyped.

You guys are joking right? Tell my your brains aren't that fried.... Sony is living on promises and blue ray right now, and have been sense the launch of the PS3. And who wants the sony to die? I mean give me a fing break.. That would be the terrible for gamers.

I person love the fact that we as gamers have SO many options of great consoles right now. I mean who in there right mind would not want all three to succeed? Do you hate MS so much because it gets great games that you will never get to play, because of your blind love for the PS3?

Last year i remember how much the sonyfanys spewed on and on about the 360 being only a FPS console. And now the best games you got coming to the PS3 are all what?????? Thats ok i am glad you guys get KZ2,MGS4 and RE2. Finally something better than warhawk to play... I mean as if COD4 isn't enough... Now all you do is dog on the MS line up which has tons of options of great games to play..

I have enough FPS atm thanks i dont mind more RPGs(FABLE2/Lost Oddysey/Infinite Undiscovery/Too Human/Spectral Force3) or hell i don't mind some RTS(Halo Wars/C&C3/U@W:EA) and sure i like a little mix of (NG2/Frontlines/alan wake/S.W.Unleashed/GTA4) and you know i really want another GeOW2..... I mean i got alot of FPS already, but who wouldn't want more even though they are multiplatform(Fallout3/Battlef ield /Taberium)... Now i don't know about you guys but that pretty much sounds like a great year of gaming for me........ Sorry you where saying what was gonna die???????

I love how 360 fans claim sony didnt live up to Promises..

but its MS who didnt.. They promised you guys Next gen..HMM lets check facts

1. No HDMI port at launch.. Now only has 1.2 not as goods as 1.3 PS3 (standard)
oh ya MS also said HDMI wasnt needed for Next Gen.. HMM wrong
2.no HDD at launch.. Now has 120 not bad... Ps3 standard on all models and also upgradable for a crap load less money.. HMm wrong again
3. DEVs on Standard DVD9 dics.. same discs used for last gen games.. hmm doesnt sound very next gen.. PS3 Bluray dics standard
4. No HD movie format (HD DVD LOST)another wrong.. PS3 Blu Ray standard

Lets not forget that 360 really hasnt advanced in graphics.. COUGH GEOW2 trailer COUGH.. There has been no noticable graphically improvments.. HALO suffered from it.. GEOW2 is suffering from it.

Doesnt sound very next Gen to me.. Sony is improving every month.. Has a history of improving.. ex. Ps2 first year games dont compare to Now a days Ps2 games.. Sony also comes out with firmware updates giving us more options and better capabilities.. I can video chat with up to 6 friends.. Something 360 owners cant.. Wierd..Most of the important options that XBL have Ps3 are getting.. Who cares if its late... PS3 is on a 10 year life cycle, and if Im not mistaken we are BARLEY in year 2.. im sure i will never get my hands gow1 or gow2 anywere else besides xbox 360....but we actually have a variety of games and not just shooters and blue dragon....man what ever happened to the regular x-box?

Why do people give credit to the DL Movies??? Those compressed HD movies are a joke... For the same price as a couple movies.. You can get Netflix and watch BluRay movies on your Ps3....

Hmm Compressed HD videos 3 bucks.. Or 5 bucks for Netflix and true HD movies

16 - Why Europe choose PS3

PS3 is the only true next-gen system the Wii and 360 shouldn't even be considered next-gen consoles. First off the Wii and 360 still use an old format called DVD which only holds 4.7 gbs of data or 9gb on dual layer disc, the PS3 uses Blu-ray which holds 25gb of data or 50gb on dual layer disc. The Wii has no hdmi port which is necessary for the future while the 360 has an hdmi port 1.2 and the PS3 has an hdmi port that supports 1.3a. The differences first off 1.2 supports 16.7 million colors while 1.3a supports over 1 billion colors. 1.2 cant use Dolby True HD or DTS HD Master Audio and it cant support 7.1 surround sound, while on the other hand hdmi 1.3a supports all that plus more. hdmi 1.2 can only support 1920x1080p60fps maxed out while 1.3a supports 2560x1600p60fps maxed out. An added bonus about 1.3a also supports x.y.Color and Deep Color which 1.2 dosent. 1.3a also has a way higher transfer rate and bit rate compared to 1.2. Also the 360 has 3 core processors which is old news considering Intel makes Quad Core Processors while the PS3 has the revoluntionary Cell processor which has 8 and the Wii has a weak processor we dont even nedd to talk about.You cant even upgrade the 360 HD unless u pay for an overpriced 120 piece of crap HD on th PS3 u can upgrade your HD limitleesly. The 360 or the Wii doesnt even have an HD movie playback drive the PS3 does. The PS3 is built stronger than both the Wii and 360 it can handle more heat and cold and still not break down. Also the PS3 firmware constantly upgrades the system and by far has the most multimedia compatibilities compared to the Wii and 360. The RSX GPU can handle DirectX 10 level details and graphics the 360 GPU can't. The PS3 is truly the only system worthy of being called next gen and is the most future proof console that ever existed.
First off lets get one thing clear 360 dosent have exclusives microsoft has exclusives on the 360. Every game that comes out on the 360 comes out on pc also. gears of war is on both platforms bioshock is on both mass effect is coming to pc and pretty soon halo 3 will be on pc. Playstation owners can play all your so called 360 exclusives on computer but u cant play playstation exclusives unless u buy a playstation that means no mgs4, kz2, rfom2,ff13, or gow3 on pc. So ill go enjoy mass effect and and gears of war 2 on my pc without buying and xbox hahahahahahaha
