Moore "disappointed" by Home delay - Peter Moore takes a swipe at Sony for their delay of Home

Old habits die hard in gaming it seems, as former Xbox boss Peter Moore couldn't resist taking a swipe at one old sparring partner this week, expressing dismay at the ongoing delay of Sony's Home service for PlayStation 3.

The EA Sports president's comments came less than 24 hours after PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai apologised again for the latest delay to Sony's ambitious online social networking project, with a release now set for this autumn.

Asked by Eurogamer whether, now no longer a direct rival, he was interested in working with Home, Moore said: "Yeah; I just wish it would ship. I [previously] questioned it a little bit, whether I'd want to wander around there. Phil Harrison showed me a demo - it's very cool, but let's go already. And so I'm disappointed that it's been pushed back a little bit again.

Home delay 10X more dissapointing than KZ2. KZ2 delay to me is perfect. Lots of games coming out around the same time, best to space things out. From sept to dec sony has to squeeze socom, motorstorm, LBP and resistance 2. Those are just the ones with locked release dates as well. Other games will also be coming in from Sony JP. 2008 was just too crowded for KZ2.

I really wish home will come out already though. Just hope developers grasp it and run with it properly

He is now running EA and we all know how bad EA have gotten over the last few years. How many of their games are released full of bugs and glitches becuaes of the rush to release them? He is hardly the man to hire to sort these out now, is he?

I wonder if Peters appointment at EA was a good idea? This man was involved with MS and the 360 when it was lauched. How much input did he have in rushing that console out? Look at the hardware failier rate when he was at the helm.

Although with home being free im probably not going to play play that. My purchases going off what i know is being released in the future are Haze, MGS4, R2, KZ2, maybe lbp. GT5 ff13, wipeout hd and motorstorm2. maybe dark sector if i get time.

What do we have coming to fill the gap between mgs4 and r2? it looks like a blank spot on the calender.

Completely agree with Yanikins. The only EA game I own is Burnout and that's cos someone bought it for me as a present. I couldn't give a crap about Fifa and I'd rather watch paint dry than play an american foot(?)ball game.

I'd rather wait for a decent game than the same old sh!t that EA drags out year on year but hey, I'm sorry if I have standards. Now if someone who can actually make decent games were to say then perhaps it would be worth listening to. This smarmy prick from One of the worst developers ever, isn't worth the time of day.

Shame he doesn't adopt their work ethics rather than bash them. Delays are done for the player/users benefit, how many EA titles could of done with a delay? A lot.

Sony would rather wait and release it right, than cash in now and release patch after patch to get it up to scratch.

Are you a beta tester? I have friends who are and I have played on/watched Home in action first hand. Currently its no where near ready for release, it would just be a joke, and bashed to extinction.

Yes there will be bugs whenever its release, but obviously they're going to try and iron out the majority of them first, at least the big ones. People dont appreciate having to download patches/fixes everyday.

EA should try releasing something only when its finished and ready for the public.

Their "we'll fix it later" attitude has sadly caught on in this internet enabled console world. Buying games unfinished is quickly becoming the norm as playtesting and bug finding take a back seat.

Its almost the the point where we should be calling games we bought Retail Beta's and we pay to be play testers so we can report glitches which they fix when they get around to it.

COD4 comes to mind with that post. Game never worked properly for me. I emailed Activision and Infinity Ward yet they never sorted it. Frustratedly waiting for a patch to come out and when it does it still doesn't address the problem.

EA are the masters when it come to this kind of customer service and the releasing of a barely finished product.

I cant say much about, but after seeing trailers for mgs4, and playing the haze demo i dont care that these games have been delayed. They are looking uber cool. Was mgs4 even delayed? And how are these delays sonys fault. Only Home and KZ2 (yeah go on.... bring that one up. Oh what? It looks like god orgasmed ps3 code onto a bluray disc? It might have been worth the delays? Damn sraight!) The devs and the publishers are to blame, not sony.

And I don't bow down to Sony and say 'yes master'. I support them because they've been good to me as a gamer for many years. I played most of the Playstation 1 games and I still enjoy them until this day. Sony has brought a lot to the gaming industry but of course xbabies will never recognize nor appreciate that. They would rather support a company who copycats off of other consoles and they can't even make their own stuff.

Anyway, I'm not playing games because I'm at work. And I have a PS1, 2 PS2s (after 3 broke on me), a dreamcast, an xbox and a 360. So where as you would have a panic attack rather than try a different console, some of us are more open. I don't have a PS3 yet because it doesn't have a game on it that I'm interested in yet. And I'm going to do this before anybody else.

I only go on this site at work. When I'm home I'm on my 360. And I'm currently playing GTA4,COD4,portal,zuma,mass effect and Oblivion. I know that a few of them can be classed as shooters but thats what I kile to play. If I wanted to go on second life I wouldn't play it on a console

but I want to play better versions, hence why I have a 360. And as for zuma it was free along with the other 18 games off MS. And I can do all the things you said. Video chat in game is great isn't it? And if I really, really wanted to go on home I could just buy a PS3. But it would just gather dust so I don't really want to at the mo. i like playstation for their variety which xbox dosent have, isnt it about the games? mass effect, bioshock, gears, halo 1-5, orangebox (xboxes better games) anything in common? my point exactly, we want socom not blue dragon! and its pretty dam cool when you can see yourself in a game and move things with your hands and body (tru nex generation), you guys talk like your mad that you bought a 360, on the other hand ps3 fans know they made the right purchase.
