GTA 4 ISSUE SOLVED?

I had this happen tonight too, as well as most of my friends. Pretty strange how it reached so many people around the same time.

I just restarted my PS3 twice when it happened, loaded up properly on the 2nd try. Didn't need to log out of the PSN, or disable online or anything, just a plain old restart.

last night i played all was fine. tonight i went to play and it would freeze. I deleted a save and it worked. while i was playing i got a mulit player invite . game locked up i restarted my PS3 and nothing would load. but i did notice that the game does work when your signed out of the PSN. I guess that just proves that GTA was meant as a single player experience.

On the PS3 possibly. GTAIV has been a dream on Xbox LIVE, and I've never had a single hickup-of-a-problem.

Its been flawless and a dream to play. Xbox LIVE has been awesome, zero issues.

AND, i tried to post a RUMOR before from forums and got raped with all the reports...this is essentially the same thing, some random user from this website's forum or something similar....NOT A CREDIBLE SOURCE YET THIS GETS APPROVED AND MINE DOESNT?!?!?!?!?!??!

My only real issue with this game is the lack of [AUTO SLEEP MODE].
I fell asleep, then suddenly when I woke up, all my npc relations had GONE TO HELL! I had'nt saved for several missions and pigeons ago..

Still trying to understand why some consoles would fail, and not others.
Own a 60Gig PS3 and played over 20hours easy, with no freezing. Why would other freeze... All 60gig are the same hardware.

But I like the second comment on this website about people using wireless instead of wired ethernet connection. I use wired and never had a problem. So maybe this guy could be right. For sure, as he said, there's way more people using wireless connection on PS3 than 360 since it's built-in the 60gig model... I guess I will have to switch to wireless myself and see what happen??

So guys, if you had a freezing, no matter if it's 360 or PS3, please say if you were using wireless or wired ethernet....

for me this worked fine. If you want to play single player, log out of the PSN before you load the game, then when you get into the game, select multiplayer and then the PSN will connect you. You shouldnt crash. Damn this game is full of issues. Not really a suprise though, every gta has been retarded buggy.

No, many people (see below) are reporting they cannot play online on the PSN.

Its bad enough the PS3 version caused such delays, its a shame to see GTAIV delivered in such a clusterfcuk version for Playstation 3 owners.

Actually the first thing I did was I copied all of my game data to an SD card and took it out then deleted everything on my PS3 for a "fresh install" I guess you could say. It still froze on me. It even said "Starting new game", or whatever it says, on the bottom of the screen and just.....sat their.... I then tried logging off of the PSN, and it worked find after that. That was "my" fix at least.

i have another possibility for you: you start crying because you don't know what you are talking about and you talk over your ass, continue to play with your 360 version of GTA and enjoy your 360 problems. Then, when you'll see the amazing amount of PS3 exclusives like MGS4, FF, etc, you'll watch videos and pictures of the PS3 games on the internet because you are too overproud with your messy 360, which you know it's life is gonna ends in the next months and the PS3 would be a better choice. But no you won't buy a PS3, you'll try to persuade yourself for the console you chosen and you'll talk over your ass and try to persuade others people on N4G that the 360 is the best console. Which we all know, even you, it's not the best. Enjoy your DLCs, you'll replay the same game with the same gameplay, during this, we'll be playing MGS4, LBP, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, FFXIII, and all the others games who gonna amaze you. Have fun.

the person complaining does not even have gta4 in his recently played list...while mostly everyone on there does....even the poster "subtalvik" is complaining but doesnt even have a gamerscore...really funny stuff.....im not going to sit here and say the problem is not happening on the xbox because it is but those 2 posters are very suspect.

believe me, the strange thing about 360 users is their solid loyalty. Everyone says "the game run flawlessly, just freezed a couple of times in one hour..." or " i rodded my console but ive played 5min whitout freeze..." or "GTA run fine, I locked up 3 times...but its my fault!!" ...
