GamerTM: Tekken 6 Hands-On

Building on the strengths of the last game and introducing a few interesting ideas of its own, Tekken 6 is on course to put the series back on the menu for those that have gone on to find meatier brawling elsewhere. The reliance on juggles will clearly take some learning (and may even put some players off altogether) but GamerTM have little doubt that it'll all be tweaked and refined for the console release.

And with PS3 owners currently only having an inferior version of VF5 on which to vent their virtual anger in a flurry of feet and fists, that release can't come soon enough.

Can't wait for this game. I hope SC doesn't get delayed so namco will stop holding back tekken. Namco just seem to love holding back ps3 games. where the hell is eternal sonata huhn?

SC I still dont know what ppl see in that game its an ok fighter but it has nothing on tekkan. My friend is addicted to tekkan5 he plays that game like everyday on ps3 online and comes to my house every now and then to play me.

Um why is VF5 inferior or PS3? What a load of crap.

Oh yeah Xbox has online, big deal, PS3 has a better pad for fighting games hands down. More important to actual gameplay by far.

Bots didn't give a damn about VF5 anyway. They wanted it to be a big deal. Woohoo we trumped the PS3 in our heads again. They made such a big song and dance about getting online like it was the end all and be all, and then when it finally came out, it looked the same, played the same, had a couple extra features and the Holy Grail online play. AND NO ONE BOUGHT IT. Twice the userbase and it sold 3 times more on PS3. So online wasn't that big a deal afterall. Thats why Sega have never bothered to even make a patch for PS3. If online was selling VF5 for XB then they would have patched PS3 too. Not even worth their time.

xbx pad is crap for fighting games, that's a fact; it's just like saying the sun is yellow.
But i have VF5 on X360 and an Arcade stick; online and arcade stick > to PS3 VF5, don't you think?

Calm down people VF5 has online but PS3 version was 6 months earlier so that makes it better in that way. Dont start flame wars when both consoles have it and like it. But I think Tekken is king after T5 on pS2 but yeah SC4 is also good I mean firstly its not disappointing anyone coming on all consoles. Also this time the graphics are too good, they are better then T6 or any other fighting game on street.
I would say that SC4 wont disappoint like SC3 did, SC on dreamcast was way too good. SC2 was also excellent. Lets hope for the best.

Tekken will be great, but...

SC will always be king- the fighting in SC is just more exciting and the art direction and style- i just like it more

the best Tekken was Tekken 3- never really got into another Tekken game after that (well i played Tekken 4 for a while, which was quite good)

im hoping 6 can restore my faith in Tekken games

the best thing about Tekken was always the crazy, varied mix of characters- from standard tough guys like Jin to weird Japanese samurais holding what can only be described as a lightsaber

Tekken 5 was also very good it looked better than all fighting games of its time. It was a good one SC3 was also dumbed down. But I think SC 1 was really good but from then it declined while Tekken climbed the top again.

Is really way better then SC... SC is a game where som1 who doesnt know how to play can button mash a really good player and win. Tekkan it acctually takes skill and Tekkan has way more characters then SC does. Also Tekkan 6 is already out in Japan so im assuming we will get Tekkan 6 for the holidays the latest.

Hope they fix up the online this time.
Atleast in europe i usually only find like 3/5 servers.

Plus the lag makes it almost impossible to make a 10hit-combo.

And all the damn waiting times when it is like 6 people on a server.Why can't they make it like 1st to the top(or the stair's or what it's called?)You know when someone meet's the top guy then may lose he can take the 2nd guy,or if he lose to that guy too he can take the 3rd.

You know:Gold,Silver,Bronce.

I got the same problem. There is so much lag, I don't bother playing online anymore. But I'm not in Europe, I'm in Canada. The lag, and waiting in line for your turn, took the fun out of online play.
