In the U.S. I saw roughly the same amount of ads for the 360 and PS3 versions of Assasins Creed and Burnout Paradise. I guess Sony can do that in the U.K. as preorders for the PS3 version of GTA4 continue to outsell the 360 version despite having a smaller install base.

The only GTAIV commercial I've seen here in the United States is that GameStop one, and it just displays both console logos at the bottom in the end of the commercial.

No big "Jump In" or "Playstation 3" screen.

I ahve not seen ONE TV advert thus far for GTA IV.

And this is proved, becuase there isn't one on tellyads.com

And Microsoft do a prettya wful job of advertising here. I ahve seen advertisements for Assasisn Creed, as if PS3 exclusive, ones for Burnout as if PS3 exclusive and ones for Uncharted and Heavenly Sword.

But I only ever saw the Gears of War advert and Halo adverts, and the rest, they don't really advertise.

This is the norm for a multi platform game you have Three horses in this race. Rockstar, Sony, and of course Daddy Bills M$. Each company will run ads A rockstar Ad will have listed available on multi platforms. While Sony and M$ will run there ads for the game, and being that there spending there money for the ad they are gone to make sure that it has available for SONY OR M$. Its commen sence I see this all the time on Mult. plat. games

First of all....I dont believe that only one console format is gonna advertise this game when it's a HUGE multi-platform title. Of course they will advertise it for both consoles. I'm not sure who will get the better exposure or larger share of attention, but I'm sure it will be massively advertised for both the PS3 and the 360.

Now thats a load of rubbish. I live in the UK (London) and no lie I saw the advertisements for Assassin's Creed and Burnout Paradise. The adverts for Assassin's Creed came on TV only displaying the PS3 logo/name. Burnout Paradise was advertised as just a PS3 game on wall plasterings in public places and subway stations when it came out. On TV, the advert for Burnout Paradise was displaying both the PS3 and 360 logo/names. I really cannot believe the lies that this guy is telling, I mean he's a fool to think his fabricated stories will not go un-noticed. I know what I saw.

No one I know really cares about the episodic content as nobody knows exactly what this will mean in reality (cost/content). The only time I hear it is when a 360 owner is scrambling to try and prove that their version is better, even though going by some hands on it sounds like the PS3 version is smoother in framerate, less jaggies and has richer colours/more depth.

Personally I don't care which people play, as at the end of the day I'm sure they'll be close enough for everyone to enjoy the experience.

Some of you guys are starting to sound really desperate these days.

because you sure as hell won't be playing episodic installments of GTA4. (Well that and Gears 2) Your journey with GTA4 ends when you finish GTA4, you can always go to youtube or gametrailers and drool over vids of the 360 owners. When November comes around and the first content is released, your going to be saying "WTF they get all that?" by that time you should have your new DLC gun, car, or outfit.

On day one, GTA4 is released on both systems, but only one system continues the adventure. :)

nextweek i play MG online
in 2 weeks gta4 (yes i get my copy on 25th :))
a month after i play haze in coop
then i play mgs4
then littlebigplanet, killzone2, resistance, socom

in the meantime i have fun with home, take my bluraycopys on my psp
and enjoy my free online gaming.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot and I think you may have too. Rockstar have a PS3 exclusive title/new franchise in the works (no it's not LA Noir). So I guess we can just consider that our 'exclusive episode'.

When i saw Burnout Paradise and Assassins Creed tv spots, they were favoring the 360 version and showing the 360 box, and only showing Play beyond for a cpl secs at the end of the commercial, at least the sony version was shown, but no ps3 box, which is very misleading, however when Turok was advertised they showed both boxes with 360 in the front, but you could see it was for ps3 at least and they did the live and play beyond things at the end...which was really nice... im hoping that they do that for GTA4, if not its very misleading... and lastly the august thing for the extra content will bite MS a bit as some customers, not informed as the hardcore and even casual gamers, may think the game is only coming out in August... Think about movie posters, the first things you look at are the title and then the date, do you really stand there and stare and read every little thing on it, no you don't, unless your retarded, but realistically you don't, and i feel the same is for GTA4 posters showing August 08...its gonna be interesting how tv spots are gonna work as i haven't seen one yet...

Read this loud and clear: THERE IS NO IN-GAME CONTENT FOR PS3. You will get "DLC" -- but themes and other such non-game content isnt what *anyone* cares about.

Its the *IN-GAME* content -- you know, more *GAME* -- that the PS3 will not be getting, that Exclusive Episodic content will be Exclusive to Xbox 360.

Well, oblivion was a pretty long game...it had DLC, that added more "story" type of 'missions'.

From what I understood, the GTA DLC will be additional or side stories. Everyone plays the main story of the game, rarely do people beat the game 100% finding all the hidden packages, etc. The DLC will be very effective in the sense that it adds more of the GTA element that EVERYONE plays.

I do agree the PS will also have DLC. But when I hear exclusive for one system, I understand that to be EXTRA DLC ontop of the DLC that every system gets. So say DLC #1 goes out to all systems. But then DLC #2 goes to only xbox. More STORY on the xbox 360. This was just my understanding of the DLC.

Either way both systems will get DLC, and it will be a badass game.

One of things that most of the POS3 crowd isn't getting is that 360 owners don't care about cheap which is why the attach rate is so much higher than the POS3 or the Wii. You may have your precious little BD drive, your lame ass Home "Second Life" rip off and your homosexual hand-holding Trophy hunts, but the 360 owners are just so much more hardcore and happening than the POS3 or Wii crowds combined.
