G4 : Has PlayStation Home Opened Early?

Assignment time: Does the below video show a user downloading, logging into and using the PlayStation 3's not released Home? Or is it the best-looking fake we've seen all week?

We're guessing the former, because the uploader of the youtube video seems so adamant! He assures everyone he is not a beta tester, and he did nothing to hack anything. He just got lucky.

Whats even sadder is this is the second time this same video came up on a similar story on this very website...in fact...click on rbanke's link and you see the exact same picture...looking at the list of people who approved this..its the usual gang of people who want to spread their rhetoric. And please let me point out..its not the question of validity most people are concerned with...the date of this video is from february and should be considered old news.

I've tried it, and got version 0.8.6 to install successfully, but after you connect to the servers Sony forces you to download a software update that prevents unauthorized Home Beta use.

He didnt get lucky. He was a Home beta tester who didnt get the rank on the PS forums.

He posted the same thing on the Official PS forums in Feb.

I called him out on it, but the thread got deleted.

Thanks. I was the lucky one, as I just so happened to recall his PSN ID, as the jerk who tried to fake everyone in Feb.
I called him out, and he never came back.

9 - Not a Fake.

I'm tired of seeing this posted as fake. This is not a fake video. The only thing that he is lying about is that he didn't do anything to get it. He used a hack/exploit to gain access to the home beta. They have now done a fix/update to prevent this.

When home goes live the ps3 will connect to Sony's server to check if home has gone live in your region. When it has it will activate a new icon on the network section. Thus allowing you to download. He has simply done a hack/exploit to allow himself access to the button by means of a proxy server trick to do so - I've done so myself. He was then was able to download and install the home beta with the same trick. He then simply logged in. BUT they have fixed this now, as I mentioned above. So this video was before the update, when it still allowed him to get all the way into home. Thats all there is too it.
if you don't believe me, then I'll show you proof.

Moral of the story, WE Want home!

IS A FAKE.

PLENTY of other people tried to log into Home, and got the message "Cannot connect to the server" This guy claimed to get through a good while AFTER the Home XML exploit was announced to the public.

He "exploited" the exploit to get his name on the net.

So the EXPLOIT is real, but this guy RDA990 is a fake.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. He got into the home beta by the exploit in thats what he is been trying to say all along. Yes it was back from February when he installed it first. The video isn't fake, the exploit isn't fake. You don't make any sense, how is he fake then?

Sev1512 have you done it? I didn't think so. He's not a fake, I'm sorry that you can't understand how the hack works. Don't go blaming someone as fake when you have no proof and are uneducated on the issue.
