Dark Sector on the PS3 and 360. Which version is better?

You can usually tell when a company thinks one version of the game they've worked on is better than the other; just look at what copy of the game you're given to review. In many cases, you'll be given the 360 version only, and that's usually a tip-off that some corners were cut while making the game run on the PlayStation 3.

I just don't understaind how some developers still leave out multiplayer aspects. Like ranked games or quick game. I meen Warhawk did this great why can't other companys.

because sony should be handling it on their console sort of the way msoft does. Probably developers way of telling sony to get their act together

Everyone champins the open network aspects that Sony has created but they don't understand alot of the reasons MS as decided to go a standard route. Issues like these are a non issue on 360 something that I'm happy about.

I love the fact that sony's online is free but it needs refining and there is almost nothign Sony can do about it because they said i would be based on developer discretion.

Sonarus, that is the most rational thing I've seen you write. Bubbles for you.

Clearly, the development environment, middleware (software and service) relating to Xbox LIVE enable the developers. That is what MSFT has been saying all along: to take care of all the back-end stuff and just let the developers create great games.

The problem with the PS3 is the software libraries that require developers give up a good deal of memory and CPU resources if they want to enable featuers on PSN in the same way as Xbox LIVE.

The stories covering these issues -- from the development perspective -- are all over the internet.

Plus Burnout was great on both system probably give the edge to the PS3 and DMC4 was to. Your living in the past PS3 is on par with the 360 in most cases now.

Ok, Sonarus, you blew it.

What did the article say?

All things are equal -- EXCEPT that the Xbox 360 has more features.

How is that equal? Is it a "deal breaker"? No, just as he says. But, if you had to pick one over the other, why not pick the one with the most features?

The Xbox 360 has features the PS3 version lacks -- is it a massive difference? no, but it exists.

3 - Hmm
I have to disagree. Not every multiplatform game is better on Xbox 360, even EA managed with AoT to create a game which is equal on both consoles.
Ah, I think Oblivion is better on Ps3, not sure.

Army of 2 equal?? Was thinking it looked better on the 360. Graphics on the ps3 version were very inconsistent. Characters always looked detailed but not the environments. Overall a lame game

3.2 - Another EA game
Army of two was made by EA if only they were motivated to make use of there resources (money,Developement studios they held Captive)....but seriously the only game they have made that i really enjoy is BattleField i just love that game to death ...and Madden but only cause thats the only football game kinda forced to deal with it

10.1 - I'm with ya on GTA4 and Fallout3
but I can't neglect SC4 or Borderlands if it ships in '08 either. Along with at least 10 exclusive day 1 purchases and my children's PS2/DS games, it looks like 2008: The Year My Wallet Died will continue.

11 - No flaming here, just my thoughts....
You know I am not even going to read this article. I am naturally afraid I already know how it is going to go.

I own both systems and to be honest, this game isn't something I have been excited for. Later this year there is a lot to buy. I will save and spend my fortune then.

On a personal note to Sony, I would like to hear that you are taking more time with developers. Help them get those extra frames per second. Help them get the online code smoothed out. It is clear that some developers are having trouble here. Help them out Sony. You owe you console owners at least that much!

It is important that people understand why these things happen on PS3. Its not just PSN, but the RAM & CPU resources that have to be occupied to make this happen on PS3.

http://www.innerbits.com/bl...

http://ozymandias.com/archi...

When you're playing on a Xbox 360, and someone sends you a Video message, from inside game *A* and you recieve it and watch it while still in Game *B* it is deceptively simply. In order for that to happen, the PS3 needs to give up serious resources.

11.2 - You mean like the PS3
being able to video chat with 6 people at the same time unlike the 360 which is one on one? That kind of resources?

You seem like you are desperate to get people to go with the 360 side as all of your posts are pure propaganda and anti PS3.

You like to act that you know a great deal about both systems, yet it is quite obvious that you know nothing about the PS3's actual workings. You are not convincing anyone, and your comments are borderline SPAM! Maybe you are looking for a good argument, personally, I think you would find what you are looking for next door in the open zone.

I like how you post to how background downloading is hampered on the PS3 when in fact it is better implimented than the 360 side, here, from the same site...

http://www.innerbits.com/bl...

so Sony can not only background download during everything except an online game (just like the 360), the PS3 can download multiple things at once, not put up to 4 downloads in a queue like the 360 and download them one-at-a-time, no the PS3 does one better...imagine that.

For your second link regarding the memory usage, well, it is a bit old, you may have well found a web page that says the PS3 can not even use a imported photo as a user icon (something that was added back in version 1.54). It is true that the PS3's memory is split into two chunks of 256mg, but the OS usage is no longer 90 meg but now a more refined 40...getting closer to that 32meg of the 360 arn't we?

11.1

two things wrong with the articles you linked that totally invalidate your arguement.

1) related to BC downloading - it does work when you are playing a non online game (the article is wrong)
2) quoting a Microsoft source related to mem access on the PS3 is like reading a Hillary blog about Obama... The memory of the PS3 is not as hardcoded as "pete" makes it out to be. The 256 "video" ram can be used by the system and vice versa (as per insomniac)
