KP podcats are usually lame. But i listen to them anyway trying to catch the slightest bit of info on the game. Favourite podcast is 3 red lights:) Someone needs to ask if we will be insta;;ing 5GB on our hard drives. Also how will MGO ship as part of the 50GB or as a separate disc

1.3 - I`ve said it before and i`ll say it again.........
MGS4 will show you what 50GBs can do for a videogame.

MGS4 will show you how badly MS/360 screwed up staying with DVD.

MGS4 will be the "line in the sand" between the PS3 and the 360 in terms of showing the future of these systems.

MGS4 will be great!

I like KP Reports. They feel kinda more down to earth. They answer a bunch of emails. And it's pretty interesting especially when you're a MGS fan.

AND! They confirm/re-confirm/comment/dis confirm (if there is such a word) rumors. Which is pretty cool. Plus you get to hear some of the MGS soundtrack xD

MGO is on the same dual layer Bluray.

They did not say it's made of steel, that would be insane.
The damn thing is heavy enough as it is.

4 - Omg it's not plastic?
If the system can stay at OK temperature while having a steel case, then it's definitely a well-designed console

it technically should stay at a lower temperature because steel is a better conductor of heat than plastic. see macbook vs macbook pro.

So glad Sony accommodated them with the dual layer disc, and they managed to fill that up too hah. I wonder if there were some things that didn't make it and I really want to know how long the documentaries are.

i wonder wouldn't a steel ps3 get hot? you know the regular plastic ones do get hot from to time, so i would imagine this one frying on the inside sony better know what they are doing with this, i mean don't get me wrong, i love this idea as it sounds bulletproof. but..... im more concern with it burning out on me after a few hours of playing the game.

either way i have an original 60 gb which pretty much has a built in ps2 in it as well so thats a package good enough for me when you add all the newer features coming out for that as well.

also if you have a 50 disc available instead of just using to seperate 25 gb discs why not just make use of the one 5ogb discs instead? well i guess in the end they did the right thing as this will probably push sony and company to get cracking on those 100 and 200 gb discs, and sell them down to its movie and game studios/partners at a discounted prices. oh yeah they also would have to make sure those are all compatible with all current blu ray players including yes the ps3 as well.

just think final fantasy 13 might come out in mid 09 the earliest thats enough time for them to consider doing this. just a thought heck i could imagine the guys at squarenix demanding bigger discs you all watch, were going to start seeing reports about these kinds of things appearing on the net soon or later.

heatsinks on CPU's are made of metal and i'm sure the PS3 casing will be a light metal that won't conduct too much heat.

12 - I wonder what...
...a 50GB game is going to look and play like. I just hope its not 50 GB of 1080p cut scenes. I am really hoping that the gameplay equates to 15-20hrs at least once you remove all the cutscenes and dialog exchanges.

12.1 - Metal Gear Solid
doesn't use cutscenes.

the only video footage they've used in MGS titles have been stock footage that lends an air of realism to the story (for example, in MGS, the Darpa Chief is talking about missles and such, and they cut away for a few seconds of some actual footage of missles being launched).

every cutscene in an MGS game is rendered using the game engine. they may use higher polygon models and textures (ie, MGS3 and Uncharted), but it is completely, 100% rendered by the console, and in real time.

the truth is simply that MGS4 isn't skimping on *ANYTHING;

1. Audio will probably be as uncompressed as they can from voice acting, to sound effects, to music.
2. any video will be uncompressed.
3. textures are going to be of the highest possible resolution Kojima and company can create and use.

Kojima has stated time and time again that he wants to bring a "theatre experience" to the Playstation 3, and this is his effort.

it's looking and sounding quite incredible so far.
