V-Jump: Images from Final Fantasy VII's remake

Is it finally here? A new picture from V-Jump's next issue seems to feature images of Final Fantasy VII and the texts "Welcome again FFVII", and "FFVII is about finding the lost truths of Cloud and the others".

We should wait for a better scan to make decesions, however the graphics seem most suitable for the DS, PSP or mobile cellphones.

The scan has been confirmed to be from a very old issue, this is fake.

1.3 - Little Bit Off Topic, But...
I was replaying FFVII the other night and sat through the credits (something I usually don't do with games). Anyways, after the credits and the short cut-scene at the end, you can hear children laughing. Didn't think much of it, but the I went to put in Advent Children and then it hit me.
So do any of you think they had Advent Children planned since FFVII was released? Crazy thinking that the game is over a decade old and people are still craving it.

This scan is so bad, I am calling fake atm. Looks like it has been doctored so that the shot is indistinguishable. Not even my phone take pictures that bad, and it's only a 1.3mp!

I'm gonna say fake, until a better quality scan comes out

FFVII was published by Sony so it's their decision. PS3 or PSP? If they're smart they'll go with PS3. It would seriously like end the war.

the article is probably about the pending release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on Blu Ray.

not only is the movie now in HD, but scenes have been added, and textures re-rendered (as in, clothes get ripped and dirty now).

as much as i'm dying for Square to finally announced the FFVII remake (i used to work at Square-Enix a few years back, and a little birdie said a FFVII remake is certainly in the cards, and PS3 exclusive), i don't think this is it. Square's plate is also full with all the games they're releasing, so i wouldn't expect to hear anything about a remake, and a system, until E3 2009 at the earliest.

Thats what I thought of when I peeped the scan. If this does come to PSN. Im sure they will still do a remake , The ps3 remake wont come till late in the ps3's lifetime though since they would want to make it the best they possibaly could. IMO.

Would not be the first time a SG rumor ended up confirmed.

They should pay Square to at least say they are working on a FF7 remake for the PS3. Guaranteed win over 360 and probably Wii. Just Square confirming a release on PS3 would push PS3 sales past everything.

Ok, the rumor has been proved to be fake, well, f***.

Don't forget that the game was published to PC, Sony doesn't own the rights to make this exclusive yet.

Currently I'm playing the original on my PSP all over again and I'm loving it, I mean this game is 10 years old! The artwork, music, story... it's perfect. I wish I'd see this game correctly remade for either the PS3 or Xbox 360 or even for PC, but please, with next gen graphics.

14.1 - If there was a remake,
Points would suggest that it would be on the PS3. The reason for this is that if they were going to do a remake that it would continue on from where that tech demo of the FFVII intro left off. That was a tech demo for the "white" engine which is exclusive to the PS3 (correct me if I am wrong here) and I think they use the Unreal 3 engine for cross platform games.

Now of course this doesn't mean to say that the couldn't make the game using any engine they like on any platform they like but like I said, at the moment the signs would point to it being on the PS3.

Please re-educate me if I am wrong with any of this.

Maybe I'm lunatic but ff7 tech demo made such hype for new gen remake that would be totally brainless to make it for other platforms than ps3.
Square made FF7AC with awesome and dynamic animations and other crazy stuff which is incorporated in FF13. That's something new. Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus both have active battle system and something similar to this we could see in FF13V(more similarity to DoC but still it have been confirmed). They have made it, tested how it works, improved and bam! We have it in Versus.
I think it's similar case with ff13 and ff7 remake. Square showed us impressive combat system which is "based"(or more like inspired) on AC. So they make first game which use it, they test it, improve and...? Another bam! We have awesome ff7 remake with crazy battle mechanics which was tested, approved by players and sure to win their hearts. As FF7, Advent Children and Crisis Core have done.
DoC was heavily criticised so I think they don't wont to reapeat that story.

I'm working in software development company and honestly, this is strategy I would use.
