Ubisoft's Far Cry 2 may now be PS3 exclusive

Far Cry 2 is looking fantastic, and was due out in April for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

That may now not be the case though, with evidence pointing towards a PS3 exclusive release for the Ubisoft title. Whether or not this could be console exclusive, or perhaps just a timed exclusive is not yet known.

i for one would love to see this a ps3 and pc exclusive, but comon. speculation can get so out of hand sometimes. just because a few retailers shuffle around some platforms doesnt mean anything, they do that sort of thing all the time

Why do people base anything off of what a retailer's console listing says? Has any of them ever been right?

I'm trying to think of an instance where a retailer's site posting nailed a release date or a console listing. It is weird that the info is coming from a pro xbox site.

Boy, I got scared when the title said "PS3 exclusive", I thought they meant it was cancelled for PC! thank goodness not, the PC version will for sure be the best as they almost always are. PS3 should be able to handle it well, but the 256 MB of Ram might be a problem, it bottle necks it so bad.

i wouldnt say that the media has turned on 360, theres just alot more ps3 fans out there now and they're speaking up. ive noticed this site has taken quite a positve light towards sony ever since the warner bros announcement, im not saying this is a bad thing im a ps3 fan first, but im just pointing that out

why spit this in the face of someone else? What does that achieve? Aren't we all sick of the bullsh*t by now? I tell you what, if you are, then rubbing it in certainly doesn't help. What goes around, comes around.

Ps3 crowd crapped on the 360 when it launched, and the 360 crowd gave you all a hearty helping over this past year...that stung, DIDN'T IT? The shoe is almost completely on the other foot, but it seems like some people will never learn. Whatever.

Anyway, for the matter at hand, I doubt it. Coding from PC to the 360 has never been a problem, so if the PS3 version still has the greenlight, then it's probably a safe bet that the 360 will have it too.

we're all gamers here and that's the most important thing.

When I started coming to this site almost 97% (yeah, I did the math) of the articles for the PS3 were bad. I didn't own a PS3 at that point and just had a 360. I have both now (Since March) and prefer my PS3 but there's no reason not to act civil.

I know we're on the internet and that generally is justification enough to say stupid things behind anonymity but as PS3 fans lets show some class. Lots of guys were angry at 360 owners because of their comments (Mart, POG, host of others...) now guys are doing the same thing. Yeah, sometimes its hilarious but doing it in every thread isn't cool.

Let's continue to throw jabs at each other because that's fun but let's not get out of control fellas.

what technical reasons? both systems have 512 mb ram, which is the biggest limitation, since on PC it will require at least 1-1.5 GB of ram. other then that, both systems processors and grphx cards would be up to the task, at lower resolutions and perhaps with some effects off compared to pc though; but since 360 is closer to being a PC in a box then PS3 is, and this game is being designed for PC, what technical reasons handicap the 360?

I was expecting 2008 to be good for the PS3 and bad for the 360, but this is just getting ridiculous! xD

NG2 and SC: Conviction 'typos', Crysis maybe coming to the PS3 while 360 gets the shaft, and now this...everything in the space of like, what, a week?

Oh, not to speak about the PS3 versions of DMC4 and Burnout Paradise having a slight edge over the 360 versions, aswell as the whole Blu-ray kicking a$$ and HD-DVD dying stuff.

The only way this could make sense was if Ubisoft wanted to give PS3 an exclusive since Splinter Cell is one for the 360 which i do think will come to PS3 at some point(PS3 already has one, although it could end up being a time exclusive in Haze).

With porting from PC to 360 being easier than with PS3, i can`t see how a 360 version would not be made at the same time, if Sony hasn`t payed for an exclusive (doubt it).
