Smash Bros Brawl receives perfect score from Famitsu

Super Smash Bros Brawl is now the 7th title to take away a perfect score from Japanese Magazine Famitsu. In new scans unveiled today the magazine has given the game the perfect score.

A delay could be for any number of reasons. Could have been their online network so it doesnt go all live when the spike happens. Could have been disc production shortages like people have been mentioning. People can say what they want, but this game is gonna sell lik crazy. Ive been waiting for it for over two years now and I cant wait.

There is just so much into this game, with so much co-op and just sheer amount of things to do. To me its clear that this is the game to beat this year. I know thats saying a lot, since I havent played it. There has just been so much effort being put into this game. Not to mention fan service with all these crazy additions. I was all hyped about the game, but the level creator sealed the deal for me even remotely thinking I could be let down.

I might have to adjust like I had to when switching from smash to melee, but its all good.

I cant wait to have a tournament the first weekend this game comes out just to see how many people I can convince to try and get a wii and this game.

My guess here is that Nintendo doesn't dare to release it in the case their servers get too much traffic suddenly... methinks they're honing their online for EU/US release. With Japan being the testing ground.

Wait a minute. Game is already finished, recieved a perfect score, and yet NOA still delays the game until March? Localization of a game like SSBB should have been done concurrently with the game, but Nintendo is old fashioned I guess.

Friend codes and lack of voice support (at least that I haven't heard about) are the only things holding me back from buying a Wii.

Well PERFECT score really means.. ITS AS CLOSE TO PERFECTION as possible at this point.. and who knows.. maybe it is so good it will make people's eyes bleed?

the way i see it is that this game will prolly be getting Game of the Year or something really close.. and also by releasing it in March its closer to the end of the year.. cause when game of the year stuff comes out then most people dismiss the stuff that came out early in the year.. and mostly think about stuff that came later on..

another reason for the delay.. maybe they are waiting to produce more WIIs so they can ship the stock and wiis at the same time so people holding out to buy one can pick up both.. but thats just a though...

either way.. we wait... for a perfect game.. i think it'll be worth it.. i'm just jelous of all the people that got to play it already..

its smash bros. so well made. unlimited replay(until a new one comes out). i think the best controls in any game and that includes fighting games. this game is gonna open up alot of peoples eyes i hope/think. i really cant wait.

Not to talk down on SSBB.. i personally think the game is gonna be a blast.. only played the one on the n64 though (And Melee a little at a friends)And i would say the old games were 9.4-9.6 score.. cuz while its extremely fun when your m8's r there .. The single player sucks so f*cking much ^^ and its not a game with that much dept either.. Just think 10 sounds just a bit over-rated tbh

Famitsu is NOT a nintendo fansite.. they are ranking most PS3 titles higher in their most wanted lists.

and most sites have granted almost identic scores to theese 6 titles.

Finally your wrong about the depth in SSBB. There is 3 different single player modes, 350 trophies to get, a deep Splitscreen mode AND a speciel option with tons of extra modes for modding a melee battle.

Xboxman .. i agree the wii is my least favourite system (while 90% of the games dosnt appeal to me, and its hardvare is crap and motion extremely over-rated) I still i woulndt say it dosnt have any good games.. Metroid Prime 3 and Zelda Twillight Princes are both great games.. and from the looks of it, SSBB will be 2 :P (TP is a bit dated to look at, with lame grafix and still no voice acting .. but im just a big Zelda fan ;P)

Yea! A perfect score for my most (and only) anticipated Wii game!!!!

But really, I don't think it should have got a perfect. Mabye a very near perfect, but lack of any kind of communication (other than short 2 word catch phrases you can customize), no leaderboards, and no way to even see the name of the people your facing online, it should have gotten taken down a bit from perfect. mabye a 38/40.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be playing this game for years, but there is a LOT more they could have done for the online, so it isn't perfect.

With that said, I've had the game reserved for like 5 months now.

I've no doubt that Smash Brawl will score high, but Famitsu scores mean zilch. With games like Lair, Blue Dragon, Nintendogs, and Assasin's Creed all garnering ultra high scores I'm convinced this rag is more interested in keeping publishers happy than dishing out honest scores.
