Call of Duty 4 Updates/Patches Coming This Month (Full List)

Fourtwozero posted on the Offcial Xbox forums a list of updates that will be coming this month. Some cool improvements are coming, other than a few playlist changes/removals, there is some maps being added to some game types, host issues solved, and even something you may not know you wanted, an addition to a Kill Cam for everything (such as if you get killed by an Air Strike, it will follow the bomb from the plane to you so you can see that in the after death screens).

I didnt see anything about Mute. That is terrible. I need a mute option.

Also, I wish they could do the host thing better. Instead of ending the game just change the host and let the game go on. Other games have done it in the past.

There is a mute function. I'm not sure about PS3 but their is a mute function in all 360 games. PM me if you want to know how to mute on 360.

us to disable the kill cam? Most times, I don't want to see it, so bypassing it automatically would be nice.

I believe that has always been available. As soon as you die, as the death screen starts loading you should be able to hit 'x' or 'b' (on the 360 version) to bypass the death clip and respawn.

Kill cam Can Be Turned off by the host when he sets up the game if that helps

on the 360 you can only turn it off when youre in a private party game.

He isnt talking about turning it off for the game, but just for himself so he doesnt have to go through the trouble of hitting one button.

You are a genius. I know it can be disabled in private games and skipped by pressing a button. I would rather press something if I WANT to see the replay. Otherwise, I don't want to have to mash a button to skip a replay of someone shooting a barrett 2 feet to my left and still killing me.

for the 360 version on Amazon for 40 bucks. It's still going on and the PS3 version is for 40 also. Wanted to support PS3, but my friends on PS3 doesn't play COD4.... LOL So, I guess I'll play with my buddy's on the 360 version.

you should also get points for killing a chopper (at least 50) and they need to fix the problems with prone. half the time i cant put my face up to my gun and aim through the sites. that pisses me off a lot sometimes. does anyone know when new maps will be made? hopefully sometime in january or february.

and they should change the martydom perk...I F#CKING HATE IT. what they should do is make it so that you go in last stand and you aim the grenade where you want it because grenades dont just magically fall out of your ass.

I do agree with you on the trying to aim while prone issue though, it can be a real pain in the arse & good way to get killed.

I really wish they would add a search for game option (ie resistance & warhhawk) rather than being thrown into random games.

well assuming you are talking about playing on LIVE. Live lets you mute ANY player you want.

but it could be a little quicker like in halo 3 and for some reason when I do mute people in COD4 it sometimes lags for 15 to 20 sec. Anyone else have this problem?

Never had that problem that I have noticed. I just hate that it takes so long to mute, easy to get killed in that timeframe just because there is an idiot on your team.

I love the changes. I like how they don't allow parties and clans sometimes. Whenever I see the AHOL clan I just exit cuz I know it is going to be a slaughter. I can hold them off quite well but my teammates don't so it is no fun.

I like the Host changes, how I can switch between first and third person in spectator, and additional spawn locations. Not sure how the sniper accuracy thing will pan out. I'm glad this isn't like halo 3 where you ALWAYS have to look out for snipers. In this game I can be a ghost and run around everywhere killing everything.

I love the host migration too but... it kind of sucks that it makes you exit the game to the lobby. I guess it would be too hard to sync everything right the other way or something.

is status of your friends, i.e. whether they're sitting in a lobby or actually playing, as well as how many slots are open within their lobby. There's friend invites, but there should also be requests, such as being able to request a friend to join their lobby (if they have a space or two open).

The other thing that needs to be fixed is host switching. Whenever a host leaves, the entire match comes to a halt, and it'd be a big improvement if they could simply pause the action for a few seconds while it switches to a different host before continuing.

DJ, It will tell you on the blade when you highlight your friend online playing. It will either gray it out or let you join his match. You can also invite him to yours because it will tell you what he is doing and what map. It is a really cool feature. Just go into friend invite and do it that way. Another cool thing is some games cut out the dialog between friends during matches but if you are in a private chat with your friend, you can talk to him during those times. Not exacty cheating, but fun :)

martydom perk pick the grenade up most of the time your on top of your enemy you have sufficient time to pick up and throw the grande or run a martydom grenade has a longer time from drop to explosion then a thrown grenade.

mute, hit back highlight offending user, hit y and mute.

Its nice to see infinity ward on the job quickly.

What i would like to see fixed.

1)The host issue. If the host Quits the game and you're leading or the server disconnect while you're winning you should not be credited with a loss.

2) After doing prestige mode you should be allow you to Add 2 attachments to your Weapon For example: Silencer with red-dot, Grip with a Scope and unlock the SoapMod (The Infra-Red light that resemble the RROD, Imagine killing somebody with that lol!)

3)Weapon updates. I know Infinity ward feels like they got something wrong with the guns stats so here's the time to really differentiate them. I know i need to be more specific but the MP5 gun stats seem a little unreal to me.

4)Separate FFA Old-school and Team old school instead of altering o that playlist.

5)Get rid of the Martyrdom perk. Loser have no rights like the wars have shown you. You should not be getting any type of kills because you got served in CQC. You know how many time we kill people and they get double kills when you spawn next to your teamate after he grenade goes off? Instead allow a See through light walls perk (X-ray perk), High jumping perk (High Flyer perk), Safe land perk(Feline Perk), Field jammer perk where you can jam opposing teamates communications (Schaff perk), Stronger grenade,special grenade throw perk (Cannon arm perk)

6) Respawning. Stop respawning people right behind you. You be about to go clear out a room and then *Snikt* is the last thing you hear when a Knife makes contact. We know your doing this because he never showd up on the UAV until your death or when you look at the kill cam he does'nt start moving until a sec after the replay starts. Also don't spawn anybody in the middle of a Air-Strike puposely.

7)Give out 50 points to the team who destroys a chopper. thus allowing the overkilling to have a consequence for it.

8)More CQC stages cause vacant is'nt enough. I love the fast pace nature of the map. Allow the indoor to have some collapseable roofs so air strikes can get in.

9) update the UAV to Relay slightly faster.

10) Stabilize the Melee combat. Its seems like one moment your lunge work then the next moment it misses completely even when you make contact.

11) Include Vehicles like COD3 in certain playlist maps. After you get 20 kills let Tankd Roll out from a set point on the map. Followed by a caption saying Tank Enabled since you can't call air support twice.

12)Allow 10 Classes slots to create for. Bigger is better lol!

Any thing else i'll write down later.
As far as the update goes. Bugs which gave players more sprint when using particular weapons should just be corrected. not all weapons though. I mean if i have a skorpion i should run longer and faster than someone holding a M60. Shotguns should not be more mobile than Subs machine guns.
