Hydrolex the GTA series have never tried to push the boundaries in the graphics department but eitherway, this one seems pretty good for an open world such as this one.

I had the same thought process. I honestly don't expect a amazing set of graphics from GTA4, what I do expect is more of the same sandbox gameplay that simple is the franchise. Also add whatever story they tend to throw my way.

dude GTA4 has good graphics...the GTA series was never known for mind-blowing graphics...look at GTA:San Andreas compared to GOW2..both are PS2 games but one looks like a generation ahead of the other

considering the size of this game and all that's going on all at once in the city..Rockstar has to balance out everything pretty smoothly to avoid..slow downs..glitches..etc..

Gameplay is what matters in games like these not graphics..

like they're saying above the game is too damn big and too many calculations are being performed at once to look like drake's fortune or call of duty 4. these screens are excellent considering what they're accomplishing. that screen, which i've never seen before thanks for sharing, isn't blown up like the screens we see from this link (which that site sucks it doesn't open the screen fully) those might not even be the intended resolution that those pics are being hosted at. video games look better in motion cuz thats how they are supposed to be played. if you look at other games blown up like that it might look similar, because gears of war kinda had this look although of course everything had more polygons. NBA 2k8 had rough edges and a weird static-like edge to things in its screen shots but the game has smooth edges in the final version. so just wait until the freakn trailer tomorrow and you'll lower ur bashing of the game. you're going to buy it anyway.

in 2007 Yes but in 2008 no. Why ? because Developers are learning how to work with the PS3. 360 was out for 2 years but PS3 for 1 year. That's the difference

gee, I'd rather have MORE colorful graphics plus exclusive levels with GTA4 and Saints Row 2 on 360 then I would the more washed out TV screen feel of PS3 & its bubbles....

I'll get this one on PC... and Enjoy The Getaway on the ps3. However, Graphics were never were a big part of GTA. The world in GTA is far too huge for the 360 to do detail. Yes it can do bland Mass Effect worlds, but well.. you see how it "does" them.

i owned Saints Row it was more customizable than all of the GTA's and from the looks of it (in terms of customization) GTA4 it's not thrashing Saints Row yet....but it will, i can see allot of new things coming into play.

So the animations will be second to none --completely dynamic. I also think that it will use the Euphoria engine Or DMM (digital molecular matter) for the physics and material properties.

they haven't announced it but I think its coming. Take for example in one of the videos they showed for GTA4 earlier, where Niko kicks open a door and the door frame breaks apart at the lock. That's what's going to make this game cool.

Also, I'd like to point out that the art style has a lot to do with it. I dont think Rockstar is going for a super realistic look here, but an exaggerated look.

dont worry the next one is a confirmed ps3 exclusive' rockstar wanted to sign the Deal they had back on ps2 days but sony was to busy promoting blu-ray- and also needed at least a 1 million install base to get money back

they said if sony would have released the ps3 at the same time of the 360 instead of RED RINGING PROOFING it , GTA4 would have been a sure excluvive' I wonder how much billy paid to get it ,

Bungie was invented and used to be owned by take 2, which is part of 2k Games and Rockstar Games... but microsoft bought deep shares into bungie and ended up owning the majority, bungie had already made a ps2 and xbox version of halo........anyways the old contract stated rockstar got a small slice off every ps2 sold, which at a $200 average times 120 million i think is good thing'

A new GTA IV trailer will be released tomorrow so just wait to see how polished the graphics are...

Btw Bungie is now a second part dev but MS can have first dips on any game Bungie makes. Second, Bungie was first an indepent studio who made games for first the Mac, games like Myth or Marthon and then they made games for PC. Bungie showed off Halo as a TPS/RTS game in 1999/2000.

MS thought they had potienal so they bought them before Apple did and so Bungie was part of MS until 2007 October, when MS annouced they had sold Bungie back to their shareholders, however, MS still owns 49% of Bungie.

The game Oni flopped in sales and I have never played it so I don't know much about it, Bungie opened another studio called Bungie West who worked on the game named Oni. Rockstar published the game and Bungie West nor Bungie was ever a part of Rockstar. Bungie West only made one game and then closed down.

were they make a good game, keep good things they have planned from the game until sales start dropping and add a handful of new stuff , then same thing and then trying to copy every hit game out their and using their money and half false advertising , confusing parents in picking it up over wht their kids wanted, and buying side companies and forcing them to make trash to excuse them selves for shutting it down after poor sales, killing off the competition
