Haze now Fully PS3 Exclusive, 360 & PC Dropped

Ubisoft has told GameSpot that First Radical's sci-fi first-person shooter Haze is now being planned solely for Sony's PlayStation 3 platform.

The Web sites of Free Radical, the Official Haze site, and Ubisoft site, all now only list the PS3 version of the game.

Cant say I did not see this coming, it was a rumor before but has been confirmed now. The developers working on the game had also been leaving hints confirming that the game is a PS3 exclusive.

Now the second questions, UT3 ? seeing as how well this game is running on the PS3..could it be ?

I'm with TnS on this one. The game was shown on 360 once during E3 if I'm not mistaken and 360 / PC logos were in the game site.

About UT3, I'm sure OXM or something previewed the game and had hands-on the 360 demo. Midway and Epic won't go PS3 exclusive with such a high profile FPS.

Unreal Tournament began on PC, therefore it would stay on PC.

Most importantly, the PS3 versions cannot create mods. Mods have to be created on the PC version and be ported over to PS3.

PC and Xbox 360 share similar architecture and codes, so if it's on PC, it could be easily ported over to 360.

And it's extremely unlikely that EPIC would piss off Microsoft by dropping UT3 for 360 and PC.

Call me crazy but I always believed this game would be PS3 exclusive, just because of the way the teams over at Ubisoft are working, which is if you didn't start out designing the game for both systems like (Splinter Cell Conviction) then forget about porting it, because port's suck.

It just seems like a decision someone over at the company made. since bringing the other console up to speed would just require way too much, and most likely produce a weaker product. -example Rainbow six: Vegas on PS3. -a port from 360 which came out worst then the 360 version.

So Porting HAZE over to 360 would probably be just as bad and would result in another version that would be weak and hurt the companies gaming image.

(I just feel Ubisoft finally gets it, it's not like the old days, you can't just port games anymore the systems are too advance and need to be designed from the ground up with each console in mind. -example Assassins Creed.

So it's no surprise to me this became a PS3 exclusive, because it was clearly designed with the PS3 as it's main console.

Will the game be any good, looks like yeah it will be good but great, No! Why do I say that. Well I think I have seen something other gamers may have not really be looking at.

For one, Gears of War it's not, their seems to be no big monster to take on, (always big in gaming) It also seems to focus too much on Nector. Something I feel the designers used as an excuse for not working on anything really amazing and breathtaking. -I mean you call out the biggest game in gaming Halo 3 and then you have nothing really spectacular to show us.

Now that's just crazy, I believe it's because their is nothing really crazy in the game, another FPS from beginning to end. I feel the game will do Ok, and that's it, I would even go as far as saying it may just disappoint. (that wouldn't surprise me at all)

AC was "not confirmed" for other platforms, but eventually became a multi-platform game. This appears to be the same language. It's a smart move to drum-up interest in the game for PS3 owners. The reality is that the 360 market is too big to ignore. It is coming to 360 after the dust settles with Halo 3.

In the articles posted on here claiming they'd compared it, it was the reporters and interviewers that talked about comparisons, not the devs. They've been making Haze and focusing on that, not a comparison against a game that has enough hype to blow a whole in the planet.

Games better than Halo 3? The mags won't admit it cos it'll turn off the 360 guys. Those that disrespect Halo get attacked for it or ignored, the mags know it, the sites know it, pretty much everyone knows it.

IMO Halo has brought people into MP gaming over the years (which is always a good thing), and I also love trilogies so there's another plus for it, but I just don't see Halo 3 as a 'new' game. Even that article about the 'walkthrough' of the game constantly mentioned things like 'It's just like in Halo 2 where...' or 'You'll remember doing the same type of mission in Halo'.

If you like Halo you'll buy Halo 3. If you don't, Haze is a great game worth checking out. Don't compare them just look at what they offer as games individually...

I understand why you would say that but it's wierd, I feel the exact opposite of you. Im passing on Timeshift because it looks like shooter with time travel as a gimmick. I liked what I saw from HAZE alot more. More to do in the game because of vehicle and the gameplay looks alot better. Example. I saw a video of HAZE were a you can takt the enemies gun, well you can do the same thing in timeshift but they don't show you taking the gun it just appears in your hand like some last gen crap, and Timeshift looks too much like Fear, the time slow down thing looks just like when you do it in FEAR and the sound effect I think was even the same.

Remember, Haze has been unconfirmed for anything but the PS3 until this E3 when they said that PC and Xbox 360 versions will come out, but not at the same time as the PS3 version. I think everyone was expecting this... I know I was. They have a better chance of giving Haze a chance if it does not show on the xbox 360. Halo 3 would rip this titles guts out and eat it for lunch... on the other hand what does the PS3 have near the same magnitud of Halo 3? Sony does not pay for exclusive... what other reasons would they have for dropping Haze for the PC and the Xbox 360? They would obviously make more money on the PC and the xbox 360 due to installbase... I think they want to make Haze a successful IP... and to do so they need to keep away from already stablished IP... which platform is the only platform that lacks an stablished IP at the magnitude of Halo? The PC obviously have a tons of great FPS... the xbox 360 too.

- interesting plot packed with action in various (~12) types of environments and no loadings
- 2-4 player coop

When you play the game and we start seing the reviews and this game delivers... then it will not be "just another fps". That's the problem with new IPs... you just don't know if they are going suck. Take Lair and Heavenly sword for example.... well heavely sword does not suck... but everyone though it was going to be a AAA (10/10) title... Lair was even hyped more than Heavenly sword.. for what? it gotten reviews as low as 4/10. Arent people tired of being promised the word... just to get slapped in the face when the game is released?

Sony fans are excited about this game simply because it's an exclusive... the only reason why they were excited about Lair... the same way they were excited about Resistance even going as far as calling it Gears killer. The main reason people think Mass Effect will be a great game is because it's developed by the same developers that made the Knights of the Old Republic games, which are great. Free Radical, however, needs to "prove itself" to those same people, even though they made the Timesplitters games, and many of the developers made Goldeneye on the N64.

Hey if the 360 didn't have that big problem called RROD I would have for sure owned both systems, but I'm not going to buy a defective console. So lets see so far I own Ghost Recon 2, the BD version of Warhawk, Resistance Fall of Man, Virtua Fighter 5, next is Heavenly Sword, Assisins Creed, HAZE, DRAKE UNCHARTED...and so many other ones just check out the up and coming games listed on EBGAMES.COM.

Well I have just been over to the Ubisoft site and sure enough. Haze is no longer anywhere to be seen on the 360 pages. If you go over to the PS3 pages then there is a big Haze splash, when you click on the title you will see for yourself, the only platform listed is PS3.

Seriously, I had enough of hearing the next PS3 exclusive is a triple A title. None of the titles that were promised to be triple A which were Lair, Warhawk, and Heavenly Sword did not come out to be so. They are good games to play but not triple A. I'm surpize the word is even brought up after the recent fiasco of over promising and not delivering with those three games. The lost of credibility is evident and the claim that Haze will be triple A just shows desperation.

If a bet has to be made for the next killer app then Haze shouldn't be in the discussion. Heavenly Sword was a good bet, Uncharted is a good bet, and Mass Effect is a good bet. Haze being triple A was like saying Two Worlds would be a triple A title.

GTA 3, better than Vice City or San Andreas. GTA before GTA 3 wasn't anything even close to what GTA is now.

Resident Evil 2, there's an example of them taking the original idea and really making it the best thing ever. But then nothing after that matched Resident Evil 2, except part 3 which was very much the same.

So there's evidence of both, you never know. And to say that a game takes various installments before it's good. That's beyond BS!! Halo is still making a killing with rehashed sequels from the original masterpeice.

Killzone 2 is a totally different monster than the original Killzone. That happens also. Think GTA2 vs GTA3.

Your just hyped about it because you think it has nice graphics so give me a break it hasn't passed that lackluster Killzone 1 till it's done and I know for sure it's better. But whatever you want to pretend like it's the second coming of christ be my guest. But the point still stands Haze will not be more original, bigger, better or more thought out than Halo 3. 8 something years of the same game, 3 years of building just this one installment, you really think in less than one year Ubisoft is going to crush all the work Bungie has put it? I hope you're kidding about the Timeshift demo. Yesterday I went from Bioshock, to Metroid, to the Timeshift demo and it like taking a big step down. The rain blended in with the shiny textures when you're running in the little canyons from building to building...it looked like crap. The breakable environments were cool and the whole Timeshift idea is cool, but graphically it wasn't impressive at all.

I think Haze PC and 360 versions just have been delayed much further. Splinter Cell 5 is also going to the PS3 later. Ubisoft doesn't make exclusives. Timed exclusives they do make

This is a good pick-up for Sony, but I hope this doesn't get bad press and mixed reviews like Lair and Heavenly Sword. Have you seen the gameplay videos of Haze??? It's HORRIBLE! This game would have no chance on the 360 anyway. Haze looks like a game that would fit in nicely with games like TImeshift, Prey, Fear, etc... But definitely not in the same catagory as Halo3, Bioshock or Call of Duty 4. No worries here...keep the game.

Halo:CE has much better multiplayer than Halo 2, I played over a pc linked to a buddies xbox, and its soooo much better than the exploited Halo 2, and then Resistance came out with its hectic gameplay and huge player count. so right now thats tops for me but it has gotten stale, and Warhawk well...isnt a FPS title so thats why Im not bringing it up sony boys...anyhow

Im certain Halo 3's multiplayer is going to be fun, but Im going to wait to see if it is exploited similarly to Halo 2's.

Resistance probably has like 1 million sales already. Others like Motorstorm and Ninja Gaiden Sigma have over 500k. The games need to be good and not crappy XBOX 360 ports a year later. It's hype and buzz that sells games.

So idiots saying Haze won't sell on PS3 are full of crap. Expecially that it's coming during the holiday and PS3 userbase is growing worldwide, believe it or not. I think if Haze is quality it could sell close to 1,000,000. Resistance did it.
