Sweet. Can't wait to join in.

tokoshix5103d ago

Yea, it's looking to be quite fun. Can't wait to jump in either!

"Can't wait to jump in either! "

TheColbertinator5103d ago

Its actually good.I disliked Halo 3 and ODST but if Reach delivers what it promises, then this might be the most impressive Halo yet.

JasonXE5103d ago

yeah I been playing it since yesterday and simple love it. Still that same halo feel yet so different at the same time. Bungie

ProA0075103d ago

this will definitely be the best Halo yet

NateNater5103d ago (Edited 5103d ago )

It's not exactly the king of graphics. Don't get me wrong, they look good and it's not complete yet, but it sure does look like a lot of fun! I'll give it that!

Blaze9295103d ago

Yeah I agree. Not exactly the visuals I thought it would be. Wonder why they didn't just do a new engine instead of using the same Halo 3 engine. Reworked or not, it's still the same engine.

JasonXE5103d ago

I would've liked them to go out with a bang since this is their last halo instead of using recycled parts. But whatever

GiantEnemyCrab5103d ago (Edited 5103d ago )

Looks like they didn't even bother to clean up the death animations or anything.

I hope they at least gave the SP some love but I doubt it.

I swear is it against the law in Future Halo land that you can't hang one picture on the wall or have one piece of furniture??

It's just box after box and ramp after box then stairs and a box..

AridSpider5103d ago

Looking good. LOL @ the new t-bag: the "Lockbag"

DailyAddict5103d ago

Looks good. Doesn't blow my mind or anything but we will see how it handles next week. I don't think I'm too impressed right now cause per usual bungie over sells the game as a drastic change when really it looks more like small evolution and not new revolution.

Master Chief Became More Than A Machine In 343's Halo

In Halo 4, 5, and Infinite, Master Chief became a more nuanced, human character.

In spite of the Halo series’ struggles, 343 deserves praise for adding nuance and characterisation to the ever-beating heart of Halo - The Master Chief. Playing through Infinite, it's abundantly clear that the events of the current and previous trilogies have irrevocably changed the iconic hero. He’s no longer the ‘blank slate’ that was previously presented by Bungie. He’s a fatigued, damaged and fallible protagonist, and one who is meandering through currents of grief, while reveling in his newfound agency. Giving the Chief a compelling and meaningful voice was no small feat, and 343 should be proud of that victory.

This article completely misses part of the appeal of the original iteration of character in the original game trilogy. It was the Chief and Cortana vs an entire alien collective. The blank slate Bungie displayed in their games was genius, he was an mysterious hero a wide audience could identify with because he wasn't as clearly defined as most characters.

The books added a lot of lore and backstory but most Halo players just want a fun game with exposition that doesn't get in the way of gameplay, it's why the Cortana level in Halo 3 was derided.

Not every character has to be a damaged soyboy, a soldier has to suck it up and do his duty.

BandarHub401d ago

A lot of people give the 343 version of Master Chief a lot of slack.
But Fundamentally he is still the same character, he just has a couple more dialogues. He has not changed in terms of attitude.
"Not every character has to be a damaged soyboy, a soldier has to suck it up and do his duty."
And that's what he has done at the end of the day, he did his duty. Watch his partner die, and was ready to destroy the weapon in Halo infinite....he is still the same soilder that everyone remembers

Halo Infintes one was a nice balance between both.

Chief and the halo franchise became a joke under 343

Sciurus_vulgaris401d ago

The 343i Master Chief has is based on the books. However, in Halo 4-Infinite, the Master Chief overtime become. gradually becomes more willing to show some emotion.

Obscure_Observer401d ago

"However, in Halo 4-Infinite, the Master Chief overtime become. gradually becomes more willing to show some emotion."

Which is awesome! I love how Master Chief become more John and less soldier.

How'd fallout not make the list. Atleast over cyberpunk, tales , and halo. Fallout been around since what 96 98 and has 5 6 games into it. It's full of lore when you play it. I'd even add star ocean to a point.

robtion475d ago

Agree Fallout should be on there.

MadLad475d ago

And somehow Planescape Torment doesn't even make the list.

Crows90475d ago

Hollow knight surpasses these.

shinoff2183475d ago

In lore? I must be missing something

Crows90475d ago (Edited 475d ago )

Yes in lore. Easily missed... absolutely. Never played a game that had me loving the world and lore behind it as much as that one. Most of course wouldn't be able to experience it since it is a more difficult game.

DarXyde474d ago

I can't speak for all titles on this list, but by the time you get to Dark Souls III, the lore is a bloody tapestry of intricacy

Crows90474d ago

Played them all. Im not saying the games on the list dont have good lore...I just think hollow knight had more lore that is hidden but present and more easily explored and accessed. The souls games have tremendous lore but theyre mostly hidden and stay that way unless you look for it and research it. The lore is not very accessible.

DarXyde474d ago

Crows90,

I think that's a somewhat fair assessment. For me, the Souls games are less upfront about the lore, but it does invite your fascination through NPCs, items, locations, bosses, etc. There's this kind of natural progression where the picture becomes just clear enough by doing the essential tasks, but it really makes you want to explore every inch of the world.

TheColbertinator474d ago

Suikoden and Legend of Heroes also have massive lore setups.

agent13474d ago

narration is more important than lore i'd rather watch the story and characters in a more cinematic way instead of searching for notes and stuff that's why i love sony exclusive games like uncharted and gow and hate from software games

shinoff2183474d ago

The article was top ten lore in video games. I think they did a bad job picking games out. I know what you mean though. I just like a variety of games and genres.
