F.3.A.R Revealed (F.E.A.R 3)

A sequel to highly acclaimed F.E.A.R 1 & 2 was revealed in a Spanish magazine for its next month issue. The Issue will be available next month with more information.

It had a high replayability with great A.I. and looked very good. But I couldn't enjoy FEAR 2 that much. It was a good game but all in all far behind the first part.

F.E.A.R. was one of my favorite shooters of the last decade, but the sequel did not impress me at all. The PC version was one of the first games to really take advantage of pixel shaders when it released in 2005. I played through the campaign probably half a dozen times. The AI was simply fantastic for the time. In fact, I'd say it's still better than the majority of first person shooters out today.

I'm with you Core. FEAR 1 was lots of fun, but the second one had it beat hands down, imo. It was a bit easy, but the atmosphere was awesome. Scary as hell.

True that. Fear 1 is still my favorite in the series. Fear 2 had way too much mindless shooting and less of my favorite horror scenarios that left me sleepless for 3 nights straight lol....no seriously.

I did enjoyed FEAR2 as well. FEAR1 was extremely innovative by the time, excellent AI, tight shooting, slow mo, and some scary moments. I think thats why some of you seem to love it. What I find odd is that FEAR2 improved on that, why the hate? FEAR2 got all what made the original awesome and added more variety, more open spaces (the original was strictly a corridor shooter) and mecha combat.

A big down of FEAR2 are the visuals, specially when released at the same time with KZ2, but overall was a fun game. Never cared about FEAR multiplayer, w/o the slo-mo action FEAR is meaningless to me.

I must be the rare type that enjoyed both games equally.
One thing I loved about the 1st was obviously the scare factor, but one thing I loved about second was, despite the shooter-heavy scenarios, was that it kept the tradition of the series with it's crazy imagination, filled with fresh designs and ideas.

The scariest thing about the FEAR series wasn't the little girl, but as someone stated, the A.I.

Make it a PC exclusive, and then make the ports later. Don't try to make it a mainstream game for consoles and change the entire design of the game. Dragon Age was great at doing this though the console ports were terrible.

FEAR 1 on PC was awesome. Amazing. Fantastic. Unbelieveable.

FEAR 2 was garbage.

Can't believe they are using leet lingo to title F.E.A.R. 3. What the hell is F.3.A.R.? That's just depressingly lame.

Make the next FEAR return to its horror roorts. Fear 2 was a disappointment. That unique horror flavor of the original game got lost and was replaced with "larger weapons" and "badass mech battles."

I actually fear (no pun intended) Dead Space 2 is gonna end up like FEAR 2. EA is gonna ruin it by adding in more action and downing the horror which is unbelievably retarded.

After the disappointing results of FEAR 2. I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump back in. I love FEAR 1, but since 2 it has been "downgraded" in quality. Never had shotgun sounds like a BB toy or gore level downgraded so distinguishably. If they can undo the damage then maybe they have a chance with F3AR. But... Iono...

Loved both 1 & 2. I just hope they update their engine for this one. Graphics in both FEAR 2 and Condemned 2 looked very dated when they came out.

From what I gather here I might have to pick up Fear 1. I played the demo of the 2nd one and loved the scary beginning but hated the generic action military FPS aspect. The Mech suit part was the point I decided I definitely couldn't buy it, if there's none of that crap in the first one I might have to pick it up.

Basically, Alma raped you during the whole dream sequence so she can have a child she can raised to bring about hell on Earth (revenge!). In the first game you discovered that you are her 2nd son, Paxton the antagonist was your older brother. Born out of forced rape as experiments for Alma psychic powers. So yea, pretty much the ending was she gonna raise her new child as the ultimate-payback weapon.

I like this series, horror/fps. Good combo. I still have to beat the second game. First one was good but became really predictable and the warehouses got annoying after a while.

Maybe it's just me but FEAR's AI really didn't seem THAT great. It seemed like all it was, was the enemies would just run blindly and spray bullets if you got near them which made using the slow mo trigger a crutch...

Yeah, played Fear 1 (PC) to death. Loved the drop-kick in multiplayer, Fear was simply great in multi.

Thought I was in the minority here in liking the Fear franchise (mostly the first one), guess not. Hopefully F3AR lives up to the hype it'll eventually get.

While I would definitely say FEAR 1 was the better game, I still enjoyed the sequel. Certainly not a bad game anyway. I like the storyline and can't wait to see what happens next. I'm a little curious how Paxton is still alive (I'm assuming that's him with the bullet hole in his head) since he seemed pretty dead after the point man shot him in the first one. Not to mention the building you were both in was destroyed in that massive explosion.

They need to make a dedicated PC version then port it to the consoles if they want to do it right.

The first Fear is a classic PC game that made many upgrade along with Doom 3. It was a great game. Fear 2 sucked.

But they will make a 360 version then port it to Pc and Ps3 and therefore I won't buy it.

Too bad though as Fear was great.

People really thought this game was scary?!?...I dunno, I played the first one got bored...the whole running around offices with bland looks was pretty whack to me...the rooms all started to look the same and scares where okay at first. Then the 2nd installment just didn't do it for me at all....but to each his own.
