Sure there are a few hardcore titles for the Wii, and I enjoy those :)

But they're just not as frequent as those of the 360, PS3 etc.

Seekerofthewind5170d ago

I have about seven or eight games I still want to buy before Galaxy 2 comes out in May, and then that would be another 150 I want to spend for that, S&P2, and Metroid.

mjolliffe5170d ago

Rent them. Its a lot cheaper and easier overall, and your almost guaranteed to get your favourite game...

Seekerofthewind5170d ago

And I'm not renting the big three in May/June. Endless Ocean 2 is another game I am not gonna rent, because it's more as a general play game rather than a one-shot. Tatsunoko v Capcom, since my friend owns it and he always brings it over anyway I can scratch that off, I suppose. Monster Hunter Tri is going to be a guaranteed buy, same with Heartgold and Fragile Dreams. And...that's all the ones I feel I really need to play, so that's only six.*shrug*

The biggest misconception about the Wii is that it lacks awesome games.

Just like PS3 haters were all yelling out that the PS3 has no games, Wii haters do the same.

They ignore all the great games found on the Wii and just bash it for no reason. Whether you like it or not, the Wii IS a next gen console. While MS and Sony went with HD gaming as their next step, Nintendo decided to go with innovative motion controls as their next step.

You really should discredit the Wii. Yes, it has a lot of crap; however, it also has a lot of great games. This year is looking mighty great for the Wii. Metroid + SMG2 + Zelda= WIN.

Cammie Dunaway doesn't know sh*t. She should stick to selling jewelry on QVC.

I could name tons of hardcore Wii games that I'm interested in. And I even feel Nintendo is bringing more core titles to the Wii. Just look at what they have in store over the next few months. Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, Sin and Punishment: Star Successor are going to be great. Then there are games like Red Steel 2 and Monster Hunter 3 from third-parties.

ZoidsRaven5170d ago (Edited 5170d ago )

Arc Rise Fantasia and Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. 7_7

EDIT: *looks at Valay's disagrees*

I would say let thoughs gamers stay on their current system. If they want to keep them selves from getting a wii then let them. You can not appeal to stuborness. They remind me of people that will not leave a baren land for some deep rooted reason. Their type of gaming may get stale to the rest of us if that has not happened already.

The only traditional games to them are games that came out on their first system. Also certain designers can only make certain games. Yet most new comers are only tuaght how to make 3rd or 1st person shooters. Right now we have the pc industry, console industry, and arcade industry. The arcade industry died because it's talent went else where and new comers where not tuaght how to make new fans. Then the manufactures began too push tech when they could not rely on talent. The same is happening with hd consoles.

Yet the basher do not realize they are the only people left on their platform on top of this their taste in games keeps getting narrowed to a few game types. What is also funny is if you don't like the wii then why even come to this side of the site? No one wants
kid icuras they didn't even beat the first one. No one wants pilot wings or star fox ethier because sin and punishment crushes star fox and resort was pilot wings in different cloths.

Basicly you got a whole bunch on Sony fans that only like Sony style games which are not even traditional games since the sequels pretty much killed those 2d franchises. Contra and castlevania comes to mind. The current victim would be bionic commando which had a still birth in 3d. Make them true to their game play or don't make them at all or better yet make them brand new games.

People don't buy name brands when they game they buy experiences. Which is why double dash is crushed buy the more challenging mkwii. Simple fact is nintendo is making more hardcore gamers while the hd guys are catering until the party ends. When next gen gets here nintendo will not have any one to compete with. It seems they are the only company that understands console gaming right now. Hd gaming is only borrowing sales from pc gaming. No one cares about blue Ray. I mean I got it in my new laptop that even has hdmi out will I buy any blue Ray movies probably not. If you follow the tech news then you would know that sd or solid state memory is about to go beyond Tera bytes. It's crazy how we may be buying carts as soon as next gen because blu Ray is not big enough.

Sorry Nintendo I don't see enough games on your console that appeal to me. When I made the decision to buy a console I looked at the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 but the Wii had the least titles that intrigued me. It's a good and innovative console but other than Nintendo I see few other developers producing good hardcore games for the console. It's found it's market with casual, family and young gamers but until it gets more quality 3rd party support I feel it will continue to struggle to establish itself in the hardcore gamer market. I don't think this is Nintendo or the consoles fault it is a fault of the games industry as a whole which as failed to embrace it as a serious gamers machine. It's a real shame because I have never played a Zelda game, which is probably the only great game franchise that I have never played that appeals to me.

Ares84PS35170d ago (Edited 5170d ago )

Nothing coming out in the future and nothing that has been released. Games that interest me are on the PS3 and that is why I purchased a PS3. Nintendo does not cater to my needs at all.

EDIT: I don't understand how can anyone disagree with what I said. It's like I say that I don't like the color "red" and someone says...yes you do. WTF people?

N4g_null5169d ago

I did not click disagree and don't really waste time on that broken system any more yet I think I see where the disagrees come from. You said their is nothing in the future coming out.

You are ethier new to gaming or you are not part of the traditional hardcore which did play metriod , zelda, and Mario. True hardcore gamers don't care what others think yet the last few gens failed to attract real gamers.

Most new gamers just see wow gaming is cool. They also are wowed easily by displays of power rather than game play. I mean really I think we could sell tech demos to most hd gamers right now. Judging by the bugs in yours games they are tech demos j/k.

It's really weird how live gamers are actually isolated from meeting new gamers. If you don't get a game invite you don't get to play together. I think you guys are not representing your selves correctly. You are not hardcore because your hardcore games are not selling ie blaze blue, guilty gear, etc. If they are look at your totals.

Mariokart is not a casual game even the industry gamers complained about how hard it was lol pusses. Yet it sells 10 mill. Halo which is a LAN party basic fps sell 10 million. Sony's only game close to that is GT. Oh super mario bros wii just did 10 million. The only people not buying Mario kart and new Mario bro are guys like you. Seriously if you don't like 2d Mario then your not hardcore or maybe you only like sonic 2d if that is the case then your sega fanboy rage is blinding you.

So many of you guys complain yet you are not true console gamers. You have a mix of tech porn freaks and fanboys keeping your platforms alive. I can see the appeal
of halo over any ps3 game because it plays close to how quake plays with less skill involved due to the controller. Yet I hate it because it took the skill out. I find it hard to see any skill any most hd games right now. They are just pretty pictures and story mostly lame stories too.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos20h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger8819h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

ChasterMies9h ago

Trevor in GTA 6 is a sadist and psychopath who dabbles in cannibalism. Should be top of the list. These game “news” sites should hire people that know games.

Strange headline, as I thought the star of the show was Super RType. I almost bought RType Dimensions EX this last month and was just thinking, man I wish we had the SNES one somewhere on Switch. That's where I got my start w the series and I was beyond excited to see it drop this week!
