DICE And Infinity Ward Exchange Kind Words

CC: You've all seen the comments from Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2 developers DICE and Infinity Ward claiming that their game is better than the other in some way.

Now though, Bad Company 2 lead game designer David Goldfarb and Infinity Ward's main man Robert Bowling have exchanged some pleasant words. Very pleasant words.

does this really matter when a guy goes out to buy a game?

mjolliffe5168d ago

Is it me or were those words a little cringeworthy?

On the other hand, I just think BC2 offers a more accurate experience :) But I did like Modern Warfare 2 until it got showered in glitches...

SpaceSquirrel5168d ago

I may pick up Bad Company 2 down the road but I'm a little burn out over FPS at the moment. I only played MW2 for a few hours so far.

jamesgtaiv5168d ago

"Lets not spend time increasing the quality of our products, lets spend time bashing each others games". Stupidity over productivity = WIN

madpuppy5167d ago

Auto-aim is pathetic, If you need it, you shouldn't be playing.

Just what the industry needs.

Dave13515167d ago

I feel sorry for people in europe. ill be playing it Tuesday and they have to wait 3 more days for it.

MiloGarret5167d ago

We don't want your pity!

We just want to hate you in peace...

Logiistics5168d ago

Surprising since BFB2 SP has digs at MW2

evrfighter5168d ago

digs at mw2?

surely you jest as 75% of MW2's singleplayer ripped off the best action movies in the past 20 years -_-

Mista T5168d ago

No! I want them to use the language of death!!! enemies till the end of time!!!

Overmars5168d ago

Ha ha. Yeah. It's no fun if they're not spitting fire at each other. j/k

It's actually nice to see them exchanging pleasantries every once in a while. Takes a little bit of the tension off their shoulders, i guess.

BrianC62345168d ago

Since neither of them works for Microsoft there's no reason to bash. It seems like the biggest bashers are the Microsoft people. I don't get that. When someone bashes another developer's game it tells me they know their game isn't very good.

Agent Smith5168d ago

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - "You're full of campers and glitches."

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - "I know....."

jamesgtaiv5168d ago

-Its a legitimate strategy. Just not for the crappy little maps MW2 has.

thetruthinator5168d ago

It is also legitimately infuriating, and legitimately not fun.

Legitimately a reason for me to play a different game.

jadenkorri5168d ago

"Ur a bunch of camping noobs", oh I'm sorry for playing the game realistically holding a building down and keeping you out, im so sorry... lets looks at your strategy, running around knifing, sorry noone in the world can run that long, lung through a hail of bullets and stab me, let alone run through a claymore and live. Dual shotguns, I dunno anyone who would/could hold 2 shotguns in both hands and be able to fire accurately without injuring themselves and continue going. One many army plus noobtube...okay you know where im going on this one.

glennc5167d ago

camping in BC2 just adds to the gameplay. until there was destruction, campers were annoying but now they add to the whole scene. there is no longer anywhere to camp permantently as once you are spotted you are dead if you don't get your ass out of there.

there are times to camp (one base left) and there are times to run. camping is a legit strategy when you follow the movement of the battle. if it is obvious which base is targeted next then get your ass there now and defend it. if you camp in one spot on most maps for the whole map you get a low score anyway so why should that bother the players who get the higher scores from running?

Campy da Camper5167d ago

When you play with friends. I am the sniper/camper and watch over my runner and gunners. I don't play that deathmatch crap because war is not about just showing up and killing people whilst running in a circle.

I prefer the challenge modes. CTF, etc. So, yes, I do camp. I find a great spot, get a great rifle and headshot all the dumbass running around with knifes and dual wields. Don't want to keep dying? Then GO A DIFFERENT WAY. Nothing makes me laugh harder than killing the same dumazz over and over because he just keeps coming down the same path....

Cacabunga60d ago

Auto Modelista.. a PS2 capcom racer!! A blast to play and great graphics!
Maximo!
Rival Schools!

LordoftheCritics60d ago

Spec Ops: The Line was super dark.

Incredible story.

SheenuTheLegend60d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long60d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons60d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor60d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens5260d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey60260d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor60d ago

I have quite a few of these. Timed licenses suck.

Terry_B60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.

Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.

I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥

I was able to find games in the Vietnam dlc on ps3 the last week. There were articles on here about the server closure when it was announced in April

DaReapa134d ago

BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.

Inverno134d ago

I got really into 43 when I bought Bf3, and preferred it. Everything that I disliked or found annoying about Bf3, wasn't an issue in 43. Too bad they never bothered releasing it on PS4 or PC.

1nsomniac134d ago (Edited 134d ago )

Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!

anast134d ago

Once people stop buying micros, these companies close the doors.

Xenial134d ago

Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!
