I believe his point is that right now, the Nexus can only be bought unlocked, while the iPhone can be bought for a lesser price when taken with a plan.

Verizon with Droid Eris or Moto droid. Moto droid has a keyboard.

At the moment, Nexus 1 or iPhone? Nexus 1 on T-mo? Hell no. iPhone it is.

In the future, unlocked Nexus 1 on Verizon ... but the Moto droid has a physical keyboard and Droid Eris is dirt cheap. Moto droid it is.

Not sure why the hype for the Nexus 1. It was supposed to be a spectacular device when engadget covered leaks of it, but really with the unvealing and specs, it's nothing the Moto Droid can't already do.

Heck, verizon keeps having those buy-one-get-ones so I could literally pick up two Droid eris or Moto droids when the promo kicks in, and plus I get 25% corporate discount, as a sound investment I'd rather get those now and be able to use a droid phone "+ 20k apps+ than to wait for *cough* HTC Droid eris 1.5 *cough* since really the Nexus 1 is just another HTC droid phone.

It means they're going to announce that the iphone is coming to verizon. It's been speculated for months now. Apple's contract with AT&T expires in June. Thus Verizon will get the iphone in July.

I can live without Flash, as HTML5 will eventually take over, but what killed the iPad for me was the lack of multitasking.

I will admit there are lots of phones spec wise and software wise better than the iphone but at the same time no matter what smartphone comes a long it will not touch iphone in sales and i bet money on that.

As much as i love Apple, some of the stuff he said seems sort of egotistical.

"Blu-Ray software is a mess, and Apple will wait until sales really start to take off before implementing it."

I love Apple, i love my iMac, i love my Macbook, i love my iPod Touch, i love my Apple TV. Even though everything he said (besides the Blu-ray thing, but it seems to be the website that said that - not Steve Jobs) is true, it still seems wrong to say it. I mean, that takes balls. Hey whatever though.

Man, a LOT of poor excuses there. Flash is buggy? Not on a PC. Work with Adobe then Apple.... Obviously he's using that point to avoid the fact that Flash video has overtaken Quicktime on the internet as standard, and that Flash games are free and compete with a LOT of iPhone games. I hope Apple gets trounced in this market.

these are very poor excuses . " the world is moving toward HTML5" , the world is moving toward bluray too , i dont see any less use of DVD yet . last time i check , there were a huge crowd of raged fans when ony dropped BC for ps3 .

poor excuses maybe but I agree about the flash videos overtaking quicktime and flash games.... but if you're a mac user you would know Adobe support when it comes to Flash for the Mac environment is piss poor. The plugin crashes often and it's a memory hog. Works fine on Windows yes, but their port to the Mac screams of poor quality. Adobe has that stupid "oh we can't do jack cuz Apple won't let us" BS, but really if that's the case why haven't they released a freaking memory efficient update for Flash plugin since god knows how long?

I also think it has to do with the likelihood of flash videos running poorly on their device. Not just crashing, but also performance. I have a netbook (with better specs than the ipad) and it has a little trouble running high resolution flash videos. HTML5 may take over, but if it does it won't be for years now.

Apps can be created with Flash, thus no need to buy them from the App store.

Imagine all the Flash games that can be created without the need to pay Apple. It all about money and nothing else.

He doesn't work with Adobe on implementing Flash properly on the Mac, and, in fact, there's evidence that the new iMacs purposefully run Flash poorly. It can't be the OS, as other Mac hardware running OSX Snow Leopard run Flash just fine.

It'll take declining sales of the iPhone to convince Apple to stop this childish game and simply support the entire internet, not just part of it.

wrong on that buddy, even flash on snow leopard is bad. load up a flash site on any browser (chrome, ff, safari, opera, ie) and check activity monitor and the cpu/mem usage will shoot up and the temp will even rise.
