Bayonetta PS3 Patch Greatly Improved Gameplay

The much awaited patch that fixes the horrible load times for Bayonetta is finally out in Japan and PAL region. By downloading the 135MB patch you will have an ability to install the game's data on the hard drive. Make sure you have at least 4.5GB of space in the hard drive and it should take around five minutes to install...

well thats good news for the ps3 version. :)

Redempteur5203d ago

so the load times are gone and it was the biggest issue regarding the gameplay ...
and if i believe this even the screen tearing is reduced ...

that's really good news .. the biggest problem with the conversion is now gone ..

Hakimy5203d ago

now we need a patch for the framerates and it will be perfect ;)
btw,I heard from a dutch site that the patch was done by sony, not sega but I'm not sure how reliable this news is.

lordgodalming5203d ago (Edited 5203d ago )

It is good news. I picked this game up over the weekend and got a few hours in, but stopped playing to wait for the patch. Looks like I'll be back in it tonight!

ThanatosDMC5203d ago

So basically it installed the whole game like in HAWX which took 30minutes.

@1.1

Frame rate problems should have been fixed in the development cycle. Even the 360 version (the one I have) has it's own frame rate issues, especially later in the game when you fight boss after boss.

shawnsl655203d ago

damn after unpatching, it takes up 4.5gb of data to fix this.. tsk tsk Sega tsk tsk.. least Sony is fixing the mess.

I don't say this often, but they should have just delayed the PS3 release by a month to work on it more. Less fan backlash, better product, no need for a patch.

snaz275204d ago

how dumb have you got to be to release a faulty product?... oh wait lol... nah but seriously i think the thing is companies get away with this kinda thing again and again, so they just carry on! people are too quick to forget! im sure if they just asked sony for help they would have been more than happy to. for me i wasnt really interested in it anyway, but the fact the game was broken sealed the deal, the thing is the average joe wouldnt know that.

jay25203d ago

It was dayedsih. It was meant to come out in October, but, and heres the odd bit, I don't think any work was done on the PS3 version.

I actually did something I've not done before, brought the 360 version ober the PS3 one.

FelicityOldGamer5203d ago

You are right!!! Take more time but give a better game...

FamilyGuy5204d ago

That's an awfully lot of HDD space just to avoid those "1-2 second" loads time when picking up weapons (among other minor fixes).

Good thing you can delete the install after you're done with the game. Bad press wise, they really should have just delayed the PS3 version a month or so.

snaz275204d ago

like frame rate, graphics and textures? aswell as screen tearing, which they say has slightly improved, it would be interesting to see a comparison post patch. and god ive gotta get a new hdd (not for this lol) im down to under 500mb lmao.

saint_john_paul_ii5204d ago

just upgraded mine a few hours ago to 500GB, LOLOLOLOLOL

snaz275204d ago

but the hdd is like the price of a game, or even several older games lmao.. its needs to be done though, i hate having to juggle the space all the time lmao, i download films off the net with the ps3 too, id like to be able to keep some. btw how did it go? i hear the screws are a pain.

ryuzu5203d ago

Heh - this isn't a 360! 4.5Gb is very little out a 250Gb stock slim...

r.

snaz275203d ago

as the second coming! in the meantime ps3 exclusives are scrutinized or not even reviewed properly! (see mag), ive read reviews marking ps3 exclusives down for being exclusive! lol and having too much variety! not bringin somethin new to the table, yet mw2 sails by with full marks! total bs this gen.

lordgodalming5203d ago

Upgraded from 40gb to 250gb a couple months ago. Totally worth the $50.

DaTruth5203d ago

1-2 sec loading times when you pick up weapons sounds like the worst glitch a game could ever have. Does the whole game stop? Or does it just take 2 secs before you can pull it out and use it? The latter wouldn't be so bad, but the former would be gamebreaking in a fast paced game like Bayonetta!

I Don't remember anything like that from the demo!

Anyways, Demon's Souls is keeping me from playing Uncharted 2 and LBP water, so I am skipping all games till GOW3!

pimpmaster5203d ago

this is why most games on ps3 install.

Bathyj5203d ago

Thats also why its good to have a console with HDD standard.

Redempteur5203d ago

many good games have install..but it's not required everytime.. sometimes you get a team that does a great job without installing but you can't have that everytime ...

Infamous 700 mb install is needed for example as with it the game is flawless during gameplay after the initial load

pimpmaster5203d ago

do you even have a ps3? theres tons of ps3 install games, lemme go through my games i own on ps3 and tell u which ones install

mercinaries 2
socom confrontation
alone in dark
bionic commando
saints row 2
mgs4

i have more games but those obviously dont install. aka killzone 2 and uncharted 2 dont have installs but take FOREVER to load when i join a multiplayer game. the bluray drive is just too slow to load stuff, thats why installing is mandatory for most games
