From the PlanetXbox360.com feature editorial:
"Since even before the launch of the PS3, Sony fans were touting the system's incredible processing power as several orders of magnitude beyond that of the Xbox 360. So far we haven't seen much proof of that in terms of graphical performance, but much of that is due to the general downturn in exclusive titles- developing two separate versions of a game would be far less cost-effective. Having recently picked up Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 to play with my fiancée on the PS3 (she finds the 360 controllers a bit too bulky) we popped in the disc, excited to once again run around as superheroes and pound various enemies into oblivion. Nothing was available until after it finished the lengthy installed."
The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.
Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!
The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer
Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱
While FFVII ranks highly, there's more to the series than one game. Here's Chit Hot's picks for the seven best Final Fantasy characters.
Alex Donaldson: "Hindsight is a hell of a thing, however, and in the years since Final Fantasy XIII, my respect for the decisions its developers made has skyrocketed. In the two Final Fantasy titles since we see both the brilliance and the folly in alternative approaches - and in Final Fantasy VII Remake, we get a more nuanced understanding of what FF13 was trying to accomplish from many of the same development leads."
FFXIII is actually one of the best Final Fantasy games.
I also sort of was disappointed at the time, never as much as the bandwagon. But really all the fantastic 3D rendered cutscenes and I actually liked the characters and the story though convoluted was actually fantastic and the ending was extremely emotional. So much budget and time were put into that game Square had such big plans, I actually have always felt kind of bad for how things played out.
I have been thinking for years how great it would be to get all three games on one disk for PS4 or 5.
i liked the game alot but i didnt like how they handled the terminology.
i dont mind reading data logs but it had soo many.
but i always loved the music and how it looked. the battle system wasnt too bad either.
but i like 13-2 more :)
i still dont understand why we never got a remaster of the trilogy
XIII is a pretty solid game, but XIII-2 is WAY better. XIII-2 was one of the few games I decided to go for a Platinum trophy in, early on. Had so much fun the entire way through getting it too!
I hated this to when it released. I haven't much liked a ff game since ff10 as much , aside from ff7remake. I decided to give it another shot on my series x since it's not on a current ps and was liking it quite a bit(just takes me some time to get over things ) until star ocean 2 remake came out I was all over that.
Square should definitely remaster it or something for ps4 ps5
Mandatory installs are a super fail.......
the difference is some PS3 games require a mandatory install, whereas the Xbox games all require a 6-7gb+ install. That is unless your not worried of your Xbox dieing on you and you can tolerate the jet engine.
It is what it is, the devs have to do what it takes to make the game run and with the xbox you have to do what you gotta do to have a more enjoyable atmosphere. Does it suck? yes it does suck but it's only for the next ten minutes of my life, ten minutes I could've called a buddy, grabbed some food, throw the laundry in the dryer.blah,blah,blah.
Article fail.
Give me a game that installed that long on the PS3!!
-End statement
If you owned a PS3 you'd know this is FUD.
Neither of the most graphically advanced console games this gen, Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2, require an install.
Install time is, maximum, 15-20 minutes and, I think, only Devil May Cry topped out at that high end. MGS4, while it had numerous installs, wasn't using them for loading levels, it was massive amounts of texture data that they had to load on the Octocamo on the fly.
I believe the "patch" on PS3 is known as "title update" on 360, it's not mandatory on either, but you can't play online with either.
Anyone who doesn't buy a PS3 (now with 120GB HDD as standard) due to installs is an idiot.
Again, Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 have no install and are better looking than all Xbox 360 games so far.
Nice try.
