It's funny how people who don't own 360's are more worried about the 360 not having games than the actual 360 owners. Saaking, I have two friends that are multi-console owners and they STILL hardly use their PS3 in favor of playing ODST AND Modern Warfare 2. The majority of the gaming public most certainly don't agree with ur views.

Saaking, I don't know what games you have for the 360, but if your a 360 owner and you already own ALL the games I listed and are STILL not satisfied, then you probably need another hobby cause gaming is obviously taking up too much of your time. Listen and listen well, MOST gamers DON'T obsess over exclusives. Look at MW2. 360 does INDEED have the games, its just that you haven't given them a chance.

I'm really interested in the Ballad of Gay Tony game right about now. And today, my friend and I will play L4D2. So, I don't really see this year as a disaster. Microsoft will do better next year, obviously. This reminds me of those couple of years when the PS3 had few games, and that was because Sony was holding everything off until 2008 and 2009. I guess that's what MS did this year.

Sorry but I gonna put my fanboy hat on for this.... 10 million people have purchased Halo 3 (25 million total the entire franchise) to this date and only 2 million people went out and bought Halo ODST.. Well that tell me that they're only 8 million halo fanboys (23million total) that are smart to either rent it or borrow it from one of there friends.

2 FULL games @$40 ($20 each) remastered HD and added Trophy support compared to 1 game $60 that's only 4-5 hours long sub HD (and I believe Bungie said themselves that it was DLC), sure the GOW CP was 2 games that some people already have hell I still have them but I'm still getting the games it's not like they're sell both games $60 each.

Has an amazing number of games from PREVIOUS years. In fact ALL years. So there's no argument in that it has "no games". If your talking about this year, I agree, the ps3 outperformed the 360 in games. I'm happy I own that system too. But next year we got Halo: Reach, Project Natal, Alan Wake, and Splinter Cell. Not too mention many others we don't know about. So there's just no argument in that the 360 "has no games".

The GTA expansions each contain over 20 hours of gameplay - more than most full priced games offer. Is it suddenly a bad thing to pay $20, yet get more gameplay than most $60 games offer?

Just look at the guy talking about God of War collection (1.15)- it's the same thing. Lots of gameplay for a discount price.

10. Music - This whole paragraph is pointless. PS3 can play music, and save songs to the Hard Drive. The only thing it can't do (that's got an application built for it) is stream music, which it can do through the browser.

8. Controllers/Accessories - This is all a matter of personal opinion obviously...

7. TV Shows & Movies - PS3 provides the same. Downloadable movies/TV Shows & Streaming Via Netflix.

Project Natal - Not only does the author say that Sony 'jumped on the bandwagon' (which is absolute bullshit, because Sony had motion sensitivity last generation), but Project Natal doesn't even come out this year. How is this something to be thankful for this year? Sounds to me like the author was running out of ideas.

3. Microsoft's Stance on Piracy - This is one I actually agree with, congratulations. Unfortunately that's really no reason to be thankful as most large companies have firm stances against pirates.

2. Xbox Live Arcade Games - Again, I guess this is something to be thankful for, unfortunately PS3 has a store as well, and the store has arcade-type games in it too.

Yo, iron. Is a multiplat game somehow less of a game than an exclusive. I can think of a few multiplats that I find to be better than exclusives, so I don't see what you're getting at, man.

I think Fallout 3 and Oblivion are better than most exclusive RPGs on either console. Assassin's Creed 2 is getting better scores than Infamous did. Just saying. Just because the game is multiplatform doesn't mean you can just dismiss it.

2010 will be a huge year for the 360. 2009 isn't even over, yet there are already as many console exclusives confirmed for 2010 (5) as were released in all of 2009. Plus, Fable 3 & Project Gotham Racing 5 are highly likely to be 2010 releases. Also, MS always makes a big announcement at E3 in June - maybe Gears of War 3. That's 7 confirmed or likely exclusives announced already, plus whatever MS announces during the year.

There will be NO shortage of 360 games in 2010 - it may turn out to be it's best year yet.

MS has never released a Halo and Gears of War game in the same year - 2010 may be the year. That alone will insure the 360's success.

I've owned a 360 on and off since launch and I wouldn't say that any of that stuff is much of why I ever bought one. I can play online for free anywhere else and enjoy it just as much for instance(same with the music,films, TV etc).

Also listing things like controllers(purely taste)is a bit odd innit? I'd rather they concentrate on some of the great games coming for the 360 to ease the minds of those less well read on the subject that this wasn't going to be a repeat of 2009. There's LOADS coming to 360 that they, and we all, can be proud of and happy about(and not sad, insulting, efforts like L4D and L4D2 which, if you ever played the PC version you'll understand is a lot uglier, runs worse(on and offline)has little dev support and no community or mod support(and why ever not MS/Valve? You're ripping us 360 owners off)at all and it costs more(often a lot if you manage to get your PC copy off Steam on one of the promo weekends)-yet many still think it's great! -Episodes From Libery City

All exclusive, all great games.

As well as:

Sorry, but your wrong. They are in every sense a game.

Also, both ODST and EFLC are STAND ALONE games. They do NOT need the original games to play them-- they are therefore by definition not an expansion pack, so you are completely wrong.

ODST features a different story, the same multiplayer with ALL MP content along with a new mode and three new maps. EFLC features two full fledged SP games with MP.

They are exclusives and they are games. And even if they WERE expansion packs they would STILL be games.

For what? RROD? Scratching of games? Last gen DVD format? Not having true HD? Crappy controller (especially the d-pad)? Paying for free dlc (like L4D DLC)? that has it's own very good exclusives and consistently better multiplats than the one with a few very good exclusives but poor multiplats, the multiplats make up for most of the games I play, Call of Duty games get more of my attention than say the gears games, so it makes sense for me to want the one that the multiplats look and play better on. I'm happy i own both systems... Considering that there are 5 times as many multi-plats out there vs exclusives and the fact that the 360 by a large margin or small plays those multi-plats better... I am also thankful though for my PS3 and it's exclusives... it's been a great year to be a gamer and own both systems... This gen 360 for multi-plat games and PS3 for their exclusives :)

How can friends come over and play Halo ODST when it supports 2 players local. I don't know why people always hate on the avatars but I like them. Mine looks pretty much like me and I like customizing his style looks cool. I constantly play my music on the 360 while playing Gears of War 2 MW2 Halo 3 ODST Halo 3 everyday. Natal has some very cool features like face recognitions and such. The 360 controller is so comfortable even with the d-pad I dominate in SFIV. I can't thank them enough for the countless hours of pure fun gaming.

That is correct. Microsoft is a copycat too. They are copying the Nintendo Wii with Project Natal to capture some of that casual "waggle audience". And the Avatars for sure. Sony Fans just need to believe that they're being copied for SOMETHING. Because it never happens.

The Truth 2009...You sometimes make a couple valid points in your posts, but most of it is false and or exaggerated. I have no doubt that you work for microsoft.

The main reason people hate microsoft is because they simply will not fix the 360 and give people a good quality product for their hard earned money.

If they would get a new console out with a lower price point of around 199.99 for the Xbox elite and release a new and completely improved system than people would not hate them as much.

the 3fixme screams cheap more than any other console, including the wii. With the playstation brand you get a product you can be proud of, even if it costs a bit more.

overall though if it wasn't for the 3fixme we wouldn't have good competition which pushes the industry forward. 3fix me does have some good games but most of them were released in 2006 and have been played to death. Crackdown 2 is nothing to get 2 worked up about, Alan Wake is an un proved IP, it very well could bomb like some PS3 IP's did, not most just a few. Halo reach???? The only great halo game is combat evolved.

bottome line is the 3fixme is running out of steam. I'd buy one if it was reliable though as I'd truly love to play Forza 3 and the Project Gotham Racing games again.

I had a 3fixme it broke after a year, RROD, didn't feel like bothering with future headaches from a company that absolutely SUCKS at producing quality hardware. They should have just outsourced the 360 to alien ware or Nvidia to produce and then make software games for it. It's just a cheap PC which will be abandoned just like the xbox 1 when the next system releases.

Release a Modern Warfare 2 bundle with the MS2 game, ONLY 1 controller, a HDMI cable, and 3 MO XBL card for $349.99. I know they sold well, but this would have helped them move more hardware.

i totally agree with you jessupj and i gave you a +1 on the agree to show it, the 360 lineup was not good for my satisfaction. though i do like the last.fm and facebook features that was added. do i use it all the time every now and then i do. but as a gamer, not a 360 fanboy i do have to say this year was a good year for video games.

L4d2 is still a fun game to play during lans and with a group of friends, the same for borderlands, and MW2 this is the game i have been waiting for and i can say i love the game.

Do you have proof people brought and returned Halo Wars because they were misinformed as to what the game was? It sounds like your just jealous of the sales. Halo Wars was a good game and though it wasn't as well-received as Halo 3, it was still a Halo game that sold because people LIKE Halo.

GT5 isn't even out yet so please stop hiding behind some made-up concept that GT5 is going to be better. Forza 3 is out. It's a terrific game. BOTH Polpyphony and Turn 10 are great at what they do. Compare this to GT5? Sure. Oh wait. There is no GT5. F3 is a great game, and GT5 is shaping up to be excellent. Why can't you just leave it at that?

As for GTA, hiding behind opinion does not change the fact that EFLC is a great game too. You try to bash all the 360 games for no reason.

ODST is not an expansion pack by definition either. If you did not know, (which it looks like you didn't) ODST runs on its own. It's a standalone game so by definition, it's not an expansion. Just like L4D2. It also has all MP maps from H3, a new campaign and even a new mode. This is much more than many SINGLE player games that don't add as much replay value. People bash the length of the story yet nobody cares when games like Heavenly Sword or PoP have just as short a story with LESS content.

Sure K2 doesn't do much new, but what it does do it does very well. The game is fun, and that's all I care about.

inFamous is a great game. Saying Crackdown is better is just an opinion that you are entitled to have, but don't bring up inFamous if you have nothing to really argue about it.

As for R&C it really says much about you as a gamer if you judge a game based on looks over more important things like gameplay. R&C has always been a long standing terrific franchise.

Also, just because ODST outsold UC2 doesn't say anything about the actual games. By your logic it must be shattering for YOU to know that Wii Fit outsold Halo 3. That's right. Wii Fit. Surely you don't think that's the greatest game this gen, yet you bash UC2 just because it's not Halo. Guess what? UC2 isn't supposed to BE Halo nor is it supposed to have Halo-like scores. Halo ODST is a game sure, but its really a telling sign when Bungie themselves described it as an expansion pack early in its life. Its not an attack against them, but the creators themselves saw it as an expansion.

I think fanboys on the ps3 side due tend to call it this out of spite, but as much as i hate to say it, Bungie's words are their fuel, so they see it as an legitimate argument. It's even pointed out in the latest issue of GameInformer word for word.

ODST started out as DLC but Bungie themselves said that it grew into something much bigger which is why they released it as a new title which is why it went standalone.

Thats the thing that i can't buy though. I think gameinformer hit it spot on, the title of the small snippet that shows what Bungie's Joseph Staten said about the game being an expansion is titled : Thanks Microsoft... i think it sums it up pretty well with what happened in this situation.

Im not faulting MS but its not too far fetched to think that MS asked them to make this into a disk based game rather than DLC. There aren't dumb, they see it would sell regardless of what form its in. but $60 x whatever amount of units it will sell is much better than $20 x whatever amount of units it will sell

I'm just thankful really that Sony's got a more equal competitor in the XBox console because Nintendo caters more to kids, it's like Nintendo is to Disney while PS3/XBox360 is to Japan Anime..

..and if it weren't for the XBox we certainly won't have PGR Series, Forza games, Halo, Gears of War and other exclusive XBox titles.

A straight up 360 thread infested with ps3 fanboys. Thank god the mods are finally doing their jobs. Look at that list of deleted comments- all the usual suspects.
Now this may have been a slow year for games on the 360 side but it was plenty to keep me busy. I get to play all games cause I have all consoles. Halo osdt is a great game, and forza is freakin awesome. L4D is a much more robust experience- and the GTA 4 expansions are longer than UC2,KZ2 AND INFAMOUS together. Great games but pretty short and lean on content. HALO ODST will be played until HALO reach comes out, so that was money well spent.It was a good year for both xbox and playstation. It was the first good year for the ps3 (about time) while the 360 has enjoyed 4 awesome years. I have never regretted my purchase- in fact I was more comfortable with it because of the warranty- which is already out on my playstation. I am screwed if ylod happens.

Point is we get to play the best of third party dev first. We have to thank our sony fanboys for being troopers ,sticking to third party crappy ports and for not b^tching about getting a year old port and loving it at the same time, we xbox gamers are used to higher standards but to each its own. Thank you MS for kicking sony down to THIRD place this gen, and humbling those retards that thought they ruled the world. You have reduced them to nothing but a bunch unsecured copycats who are strugling to catch up to your greatness of xbox live. You have taken everything that was important to them from last gen and have wiped your ass with the ps brand this gen. seriously most of the points they made were not valid because ps3 has the ability to do them anyway.
as for natal it may be hyped but it is coming out too late to make a difference, if any motion control device is going to have some success it will be the wand because of it's simularity to wii motion plus (it does it in a different way and more precise tho)
