Gamespot reviews Shadowrun and gives it a 6.9

This multiplayer-only shooter does absolutely nothing with the Shadowrun name, and its unique strengths are offset by a lack of variety.

The Good: Unique ability system sets the game apart from other shooters; lets vista and 360 users play on the same servers; good-looking effects.

The Bad: Bad and missing animation makes the game look unfinished; not enough maps to stay interesting for long; does absolutely nothing with the shadowrun license.

haha...just playin' with ya. Devil May Cry is the single most important reason to be a gamer. It is the pinnacle of gaming. Why didn't anyone like DMC2? I thought it was AMAZING!

BTW...shadowrun recieving this score. I don't know if it'll be THAT bad, but whoever reviewed this was stoned. You can clearly see that 6.9 is 69 in disguise...

Well to answer ur question, i think DMC1 set the bar pretty high....when 2 came out and they made dante less cool and for some reason, quieter than the first, it was kind of a letdown...we'll all knew dante's characters as a trash-talking badass who never gets intimidated....on a positive note, i like the wall crawling in part 2 though....And no offense to you and Marionz but imo, Vergil is better...reminds me of Sepiroth with that long samurai sword....He should get a spin-off game or something....

Considering there's no single player game in Shadowrun I don't think the score is too far off. Ok so you can play single with bots... whoopdeedoo. Forza 2 on the other hand has singleplayer, multiplayer, and a HUGE online community where you can auction off cars, get people to mod your vehicles for you, make paint jobs for you and a number of other things.

Maybe it's just that Shadowrun didn't get the hype that would have made it good. I think the multiplayer actually has some mechanics that could put it over Halo 3's multiplayer but Halo 3 is going to have a single player game too.

Why do people buy games. 60 bucks a piece is a rip off. for 40 bucks a month i can rent 4 games at a time from gamefly and even pretend to lose games so i can keep them i did it with gears of war, halo 2 etc. so i rent forza and shadowrun they came today. played them and theyre alright. i would give shadowrun a 5 if i had to pay for it but since i can just return it id give it a 7.5. still hella fun. same with forza ,ill return them when other games come out soon. darkness, halo 3, etc. ur a moron, a moron, if u buy games. like spiderman 3 i played it for 3 seconds and quit while i was in the training mission. returned it and got another game. like clockwork

6.9 is way to freaking low because this game has alot of counter strike multiplay team fun in it. "missing animation" can be patched and the devs have said thise game will offer a large number of downloadable contennt. No this is a good game, I thinks maybe this guys just don't like these kinds of games, which is why I love EGM/1up because they use more than one guy to rate the games.

being able to patch something never justified a better rating. Following your logic EVERY game on earth should get a 10/10 rating because after all .. you might PATCH it to be good ...
The review reports the "worth" of the game in the state it was presented.
If a huge patch manages to make it a way better game sites would "re-review" it, happened before ...

If sites would crack down harder on unfinished game betacrap that is sold as finished product, we would see less trash like Gothic3 being released in the state it was released, aka completely unfinished banana ware, supposed to be finished AFTER selling.

I never bought an half build car in my life on the vague promise to get the car finished by the manufacturer later on ... how comes that game distribution right now is exactly in that sorry state ...

So far i was happy that the console-game business was free of this ugly PC-game trend of sell first, patch later .. but it seems the trash spilled over into our playground now ...

After playing for about 4 horus now. it is hella fun. flying with the glider is dope!!!. The smg is sick. the tree of life is tight, the crystals are dope. the game is sick. too bad the graphics blow my nuts. they still look good. the spells are sick. characters add some depth. but still rippin off peoplee who dont rent it. 60 bucks is a rip off!!!!! but the game is hella fun. up there with halo type combat. u can get real good

Actually, I agree with this review. It seems reasonable. I would never buy a FPS that's online multiplayer only. Not worth it. Unless it's a MMOFPS like Huxley, that seems more unique.

I love Shadowrun, I don't understand why there is so much negativity towards it. It's actually a refreshing experiance compared to other games. The multiplayer is like counter strike with magic and my friends and I play this game for hours and hours on end enjoying each match either if we win or lose. And it is not only us who just like it but there is a lot of people who have purchased it for the 360 and all I here on Xbox Live about it is "Wow this is amazing!" and "Haha I made your dwarf do a back flip from that shotgun blast!".

They focus more on the franchise and how it was used instead of the game. The game if you get into it is non-stop fun. You have to at least give this one a try and the community is much better then other said multi-games... this is my top online game for me right now, more so then halo right now, and I like some halo.

it really makes me think that reviewers are upset with the limited content than with how the game plays. Shadowrun is pretty damn tight and does bring some newer aspects to shooter games. I don't think MS's pricing for this game was fair, but I have the money and for those that don't I would expect a price drop shortly. The game already looks like it's going to have a strong cult following. Very good game, just short on content.
