Kotaku: Bayonetta Hands-On - The PS3 Version

The PlayStation 3 version of PlatinumGames' Bayonetta has become somewhat of a point of contention, given that the developer of the game has handed off development duties to Sega for that platform and that it reportedly... doesn't look so good.

Well, Kotaku decided to check the PS3 version of the non-stop climax action game for themselves at TGS, just to see how evenly the two versions of the game were matched. Having played the Xbox 360 version a few times, they felt nervously qualified to determine the differences between the two.

Michael is a cool dude. I don't go to Kotaku, but I like Michael. If anyone is a troll, it's Luke and Baschroft. Michael and Leigh are good in my book.

first off to everyone, it's a 360 to ps3 port, and second the ps3 port is handled by SEGA.

I'll be here waiting while someone can find me a game that's had those handicaps and succeeded in being up to par or beyond.

find it and I'll sing a different tune.

Desperate bot? the PS3 version is inferior lol. Your disagree comment is moronic, you think PS3 fanboys are getting disagrees fast? what about the 360 fans that have more and got them faster? idiot

why are the editors from kotaku and 1up.com looking for issues in the PS3 version of the game? Obviously they're not there, so what the hell?

54percent5346d ago

Maybe they want the PS3 version to surpass the 360 version? you never know if they really want the PS3 to win the consoles war, they see all the fantastic exclusives coming to the PS3 and see one title not reaching the actual quality of the first and second party titles on the PS3 is kinda sad.

port is handled by SEGA, nuff said.

Is Sega not good at developing PS3 games? I'm pretty sure they created Valkyria Chronicles which ran smoothly and was a triple A title. So why is soo bad if it's developed by Sega, Mgsr?

no no, not making, when you're making you're starting from scratch, SEGA's never had issues starting from scratch. it's when you're porting is where the problem arrives, cause you're converting all data.

the ps3 version is at the mercy of a developer that didn't pioneer the engine......and frankly has a decent record of doing bad ps3 conversions them selves in spite of being pioneers of their own games.

Why dis5346d ago (Edited 5346d ago )

No it's simply inferior. It's a good thing the credible sites posted the truth first before the PS3 fans posted false comparisons with BS conclusions blatantly false/a lie/biased/damage control, Like (Lost Planet 2, Ghost Busters/DMC4 etc)

Anon19745346d ago

They had no issues with the game. They admit they struggled to find any fault. They finally said if you like the 360, get the 360 version. If you like the PS3 controller, get the PS3 version.

Another multiconsole port where the differences are so minor it clearly isn't an issue either way.

Move along, folks. You don't play graphics, you play games.

Unicron5346d ago

Shhhh Darkride. Apparently you play gore when the PS3 version looks better. Or just flat out deny it when two demos look the same.

Haven't you ever been to N4G before? =)

People don't ignore "MGSR THE HD VERSION" or any fb, take away hes bubbles. We need to resolve the fb problem on n4g and not ignore it.

Sigh5346d ago (Edited 5346d ago )

MGSR is a spinoff and not really true HD. Snake is what makes metal gear, true Metal Gear, nuff said.

I wouldn't say they are looking for issues with the PS3 version. This preview seems like it was made to put PS3 owners mind at ease. It's the same game on both consoles so the only problem is which controller you prefer.

Like I said a dozen times before. The PS3 is my preferred console, but my fellow PS3 owners REALLY need to mellow out and play the games how they were intended to be played. FOR FUN. This pointless war has gone on long enough. Stop embarrassing us as PS3 owners. We know how great the PS3 is. I'm starting to dislike PS3 fanatics as much as 360 fanatics. With the great games on both consoles there's no reason to fight anymore.

Time to start acting or age.

"obviously they're not there"

Huh? Except for all the reports that they _are_ there.

What part of this (very normal) situation is hard to understand?
