Uncharted 2 multiplayer demo date confirmed; no single-player demo

Naughty Dog has confirmed the dates for the Uncharted 2 multiplayer demo, whilst also revealing that there will not be a single-player demo.

Unlike the first game, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will not feature a single-player demo. However, also unlike the first game, Uncharted 2 includes co-operative and competitive multiplayer; a feature that Naughty Dog will be exploiting in a demo before the game's release.

So when will the demo be released?

We've seen Single player in the 1st one.

I dont think people will mind not playing the Single player in the Demo when you have the new Included Multiplayer segment of the game to check out.

right?

chaosatom5363d ago (Edited 5363d ago )

you don't want to get spoiled too much, so it's a good thing.

Gamertags5363d ago

To BUY THIS GAME! Forget the demo people, buy it!

Carl14125363d ago

I'd rather have a Single Player demo.

I fully intend to completely ignore the online, in a game which has no need for it

MikeGdaGod5363d ago

i was in the beta and really enjoyed it and i'm not really much of a online player. but it was alot of fun.

you might wanna check out the demo......cost you nothing!!!

FamilyGuy5363d ago

WTF? Don't do that! There's NOTHING wrong with a game having both a great single player and multi-player aspect. I was in the beta too and it was one of the most fun games I've played online PERIOD. Skipping it skipping it would be a disservice to the game itself.

I really don't understand the though behind that statement :/

12-15hours SP campaign is GOOOD!

techie5363d ago

But first one was 8-10 hours...so this will be great. I expect it'll be the lower end for me, but that's still long :)

Natsu X FairyTail5363d ago (Edited 5363d ago )

12hour is good for these types of games and the Multiplayer will make The Fun Factor last longer . people wont Only focus on the single player which is good.

mal_tez925363d ago

I can beat Drake's Fortune on Crushing in just over 5 hours. But then again I've played through it like 25 times now.

People who think that 8-10 hours is short need to realis that they can play the game again and again and again. This might get annoying for most games, but in Uncharted the gameplay is so good that I still haven't tired of it. That's the main reason it's still my favourite game.

Single player isn't needed in the demo for those who have played the first but it would be good to have it for those who haven't and the more casual players who don't know how great Uncharted is.

I think a short single player demo with a multiplayer map would be the best option but I guess a multiplayer demo will show everyone just how great the visuals and gameplay are at least. That alone should be enough to get anyone interested in buying this game.

techie5363d ago

I think multiplayer (remember it'll be competitive AND cooperative...which is like SP anyway) with a trailer of the SP will be perfect IMHO

raztad5363d ago

Yeah. Demos are mostly intended for showing off unknown IPs. The best UC2 "demo" is UC1, which btw is Greatest Hits by now.

Karum5363d ago

Yeah drake's Fortune has been part of the Platinum Collection for quite a while now. I got the Platinum Collection version as a Christmas gift last year and in terms of enjoyment, one of the best I've ever been given.

No_NaMe5363d ago

LEss than 1 milion -- FAIL!

wxer5363d ago

what dose this have to do with if the game is good or not
i mean
wii sports is the most game soled this gen.
no one sayes its THE BEST GAME OF THIS GEN.

techie5363d ago

Uncharted 1 sold 2 million....so it won't be less than 1 million will it.

Saaking5363d ago

Poor delusional bot. Like I already told you, if you love sales go become a Wii fanatic. The 360 looses in sales to the wii and in quality to the PS3. GTFO bot, you're not welcome.

frnkyl5363d ago

They do matter but to an extent. It doesn't bother me when I play a game like Uncharted. The game won't magically turn into crap if it doesn't sell a million copies in a day. Sales aren't something I lose sleep over.

Currently playing Drakes Fortune on crushing, next will be to replay Among Thieves, but I'm sure it still holds up today.

P_Bomb1448d ago (Edited 1448d ago )

Recently re-platinumed 1-3. Uncharted 2 aged better than I even expected. I enjoyed it more now than I did a decade ago. It’s more polished than 1, tighter than 3 and Yemen in 3 was gorgeous. Shambhala out-prettied Ubar though. 60fps w higher res’ made for a damn good rerun.

Abnor_Mal1447d ago

Question: When you say Uncharted2 aged better than expected, are you talking about the original PS3 game or the remastered collection on PS4. I ask because I think that a remastered version of the game would look and play better than the original.

I doubt that the original ran at 60 frames, how many years old is the remastered collection anyway.

I need to replay the original trilogy along with the collection, not a fan of the collection trophy of beating levels in a set time and don't think the originals required that for platinum.

P_Bomb1447d ago (Edited 1447d ago )

@abnor_mal
It’s true that the remasters have upped the resolution and given it 60fps, but the base game is the same. The art design and base textures/physics/ animations are the same yet still look contemporary. More-so than UC1 which isn’t as tight, or UC3 in some cases which I found a bit clunky in close quarters.

UC2 level design was a great evolution in bringing the verticality from the jungle into rural/urban settings while maintaining smooth animation transitions. Drake still moves better than the ginger in Star Wars Jedi. Outdoor areas are better lit.

UC2 also has more action and better pacing imo, which helps when replaying a game 10 years later. Kept me engaged.

You don’t need to time trial for platinum. They stuck the speedrun trophies in a seperate extended dlc category so have no fear.

MadLad1448d ago

I thought the originals were good, but not great. I understand that puts me in the minority here. That said, Uncharted 4 was freaking fantastic.

Profchaos1448d ago (Edited 1447d ago )

Yeah I understand the hate for 4 prior to playing it I was firmly against it and felt like 3 wrapped things up already but now after playing it I think it was the best in the franchise.

Now I look back at two and I feel like I'm playing an on the rails shooter everything is so tightly scripted including the infamous train scene you simply can't make a mistake

Rimeskeem1448d ago

I think Uncharted 2 is a lot like AC2. Both games took the idea and basically improved it in every single way.

Movefasta19931447d ago

Uc2, AC2,Halo2, Soul calibur 2, Killzone 2, Infamous 2 , Dishonored 2 and a few more. The only negative thing I have against uc2, and imo it annoyed me,are the blue apes, uncharted 1 handled the super natural far better.
