EGM 216: EndWar & Rumour - Team Ninja working on PS3 exclusive DoA game

The June issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly contains a cover story of Tom Clancy's EndWar, plus previews of God Of War: Chains of Olympus, Manhunt 2 and Fracture. Also in the magazine are a number of rumours:

* Team Ninja working on PS3 exclusive DoA game
* Hudson working on a Bonk game for DS/Wii
* Capcom remaking the original Megaman for PSN
* Next Kingdom Hearts game will be a spin-off that will appear on a "hearty console"

The other stuff seems like it could happen but DoA on the PS3, nah i don't think that will happen. DoA has always been on the Xbox or 360, and doesn't MS has the rights or they paid Team Ninja to keep DoA on the Xbox.

I don't think Microsoft has the rights to DOA, Tecmo does. And don't forget that it did come out on the PS1 and 2.

IT was one dreamcast and also on ps2 so what you are saying is not true. Also if u know a bit about ninja gadien it is the same people from DOA for the most part.

That doesn't make sense, a Doa game only on the ps3 than that means there won't be a DOA on the 360. Unless when they say DOA they mean maybe just one of the charachters from DOA will have there own game like Nija Gaiden.

that DOA beach volley ball first came to gamecube before it was later redone for the xbox1. it's just like the popular trend these days. true exclusives are rare, and ones that we think are exclusives arent. DOA and Ninja gaiden will move to ps3. as a matter of fact. this multiplatformer NG is already in effect. especially with the release of NGS on ps3, and NG:DS on the Nin DS. team ninja games are cool and i'm looking forward to playing them. though i still think that dead or alive isn't better than tekken

I can only guess that Team Ninja loves PS3 alot and we all know the best way to make the best possible game is to make it for only one console, whatever console that might be. No dumbing down is neccessary. Quite a coup for Sony, if true.

PS. the NG demo is gorgeous and even though I completed it on XB1 I'm still getting it on PS3. Does it matter that the level layout is the same because it definately isnt the same game.

Um, no. If that happens, Itagaki is going to have to eat his own words because he's been quite eager to stress all Team Ninja games would be appearing on the Xbox 360 first (Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a remake). So unless we're talking about a remake of an existing DoA game, I'm calling bullshit on that one.

Doa2 did come out on the ps2(japan only).
another way this MAY be an exclusive to the ps3 is if its DOA:hardcore 2(a sequel to doa:h,wich was exc. to the ps2)
it seems likely that a DOA game will come to the ps3,but i dont think it will be exclusive to the ps3...........but its a possibility(read my first posts)

From what I remember some Sony fans do not like the DOA franchise. I wonder how happy this would make Sony fan boys to get another game they do not respect because it is a Xbox game. TEAM NINJA is one of my fav. development teams. I wonder if SOny will stop bashing DOA if this is true.

I always have. Team ninja make a polished game. It's no virtua fighter but still a great franchise. Who knows.

Never had much interest in DOA. Doesn't matter to me if it's PS3 only. But what will matter, is if Team Ninja decides to release ANOTHER DOA GAME, instead of Ninja Gaiden 2. Seriously, I cringe every time I think about the amount of work done on DOA Extreme while nothing has been heard on the next-gen sequel to one of xbox's best games. Someone, please, just tell me that NG2 is in development...

doa2:hardcore was one of my favorite buddy games for ps2. my friend and i spent hours upon hours playing it.

team ninja has a trend on working on the most powerful consoles, (hence why they jumped ship when xbox came around)...

team ninja has always said it will always be on the system with the most power. that's why they went saturn, ps1, dc, ps2, xbox, & 360. it would only make sense that they bring it to ps3 along with ninja gaiden. and as far as exclusivity, they tend to tailor their games for a specific console like doa3 couldn't be done on ps2 without downgrading the graphics which they wouldn't do.

will certainly prove that the ps3 is and has what it takes to support there games. and with NGS proving to be already the most downloaded game on the psn it's a freakin given that when this game releases Sony will hype it beyond means and force people to buy it, simply because they need more games from 3rd party. they have onc again struck gold with Team ninja. NGS will be sucess ful and we'll start to see more games from them. if NGS is the driving force thats starts PS3 hardware sellout or increase then best believe the support will be there and they will re-evaluate there process, then start focusing alot of there resources on a Sony hardware. TI is using MH as a sort of lab rat to see how well they can do a game he did years ago on a new gen. and so far it's proving excellent. Team nija is going to deliver the goods and sony will do it's best to make sure they enjoy working with them. i peronally cant wait for the next ninja Gaiden Game. the DOA franchise although it is great means squat to me whn i think about other games in the genre like tekken and VF5, Soul Calibur. Cant wait, cant wait at all.
