Capcom developed MT Framework 2.0 to better support PS3

Just the fact that Capcom has invested into improving their engine for the PS3 shows the confidence they have in the platform to drive their software sales. Two of their biggest titles sold more on the PS3 this year.

Great to hear! And I hope they do it cuz I'm bored of Unreal Engine 3. Most of the games that use that engine look the same, plus it does not work well with the PS3 anyway. Just look at the mess that is the GhostBuster game on the PS3 and that's not the only...

Yea, Seriously, Like that Last Remnant on Xbox 360 was like a glitch fest. Whoever is on the Unreal Engine 3, should move on to engines such as Cry Engine 2 or Capcom's MT 2.0

are you expecting them to go exclusive or what? sorry dude, but that's not going to happen, at least not in the near future! we can pretty much say goodbye to any exclusive for either console from capcom because they're already riding on the cash wave with all their high profile multiplats!

MT Framework 2.0, while a good engine that performs well on all platform, has a big weakness on the PS3 which is the 5GB install! that 5GB install more than always do nothing to improve loading time or frame rate. it's just a way to help the game to run on the PS3 with majority of the game components are installed to the HDD! that's a BIG problem and improving and further modified the engine to support the PS3 better ie. eliminate the need for installs are just logical considering their PS3 fanbase is giving support like those on 360! this move will restore faith from gamers.

How do you know if the engine has a big weakness on ps3 if the first game to utilize it will be lost planet 2?

sounds good. RE5 was mt 2.0 wasn't it? cus playing both demo's of that game showed minimal differences imo and playing through the ps3 version was great. Hopefully lost planet on ps3 will be good this time round. It's looking interesting but i know my mates will be buying it on ps3 rather than 360

This is what happens when you don't get too dependent on the same engine for years and years, and spend time perfecting something to work universally: some actual praise.

I'm telling you, though, Capcom is at least acting like they give a rat's ass about how gamers perceive them and seem like they are working hard to please everyone they can, though we'll see how long that holds out.

Much like Ubisoft, it's great seeing Capcom further optimize their flagship engine for the Playstation 3. They shouldn't have to but it's still appreciated.

Basically their source engine was a PC enigne back in 04 right?.. when hl2 came out? ... ports for 360 are easy since its basically the same architecture ... they need to build a new engine just like capcom... although i gotta say i'm loving the dynamic lights and shadows in the current build from l4d 2

valve is making an engine for HL3 that is optimized for a PC. Not a PS3. The only reason valve releases their games on 360 is because its easy and its guaranteed money. Making the game for ps3 is neither of those things.

People need to see that valve doesnt care about consoles, especially not the ps3 or Wii. I dont see any Wii people hating on valve for not making any wii games at all.

For some reason alot of people on this site act like the PS3 should be the center of everyone and every developers' universe. In reality they have quite a few reasons why this isnt the case.

About the story-- Im excited about any game capcom makes. Ill always give them a chance no matter what console they make a game for.

LOL no matter what games the turdfixme has, the ps3 will always have a better quality title that embarrasses it. The toosh!ty really is the epitome of an outdated turd. Lol. And their best way of better supporting the PS3 involves signing an exclusive announcement deal with MS which keeps them from directly announcing the PS3 version of the game that utilizes said engine until E3 2009 as an aside by Jack Tretton. Okay..... Whatever you want Capcom.
