Leaked PSP Go just a publicity stunt?

PS3-Sense writes: "The E3 has not even started of one of the bigger announcements from Sony is now known, namely the PSP Go. The device was disclosed in a leaked version of Sony's online magazine, Qore, which is only available in the U.S. PlayStation Store..."

well according to gamesblow, the leak was no accident. his credibility is on the line, lets see what happens this week.

Cwalat5442d ago

How could it be accidental?
Sony aren't retards... They did this on purpose. But my question is, Why? It would be PERFECT to reveal it at E3, instead they showcase it for the pupblic via QORE!!!??? =P

Stupid strategy if you ask me... it's just something about seeing new hardware on the stage that hypes it alot more. Oh well... :P

Galvanise5442d ago

got a new website?
He's been referenced a lot around here in recent days, and i'm interested in seeing what he's up to.

pwnsause5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

thats the problem though, hes been hyping this site of his since last year, yet no substance, its not even up yet.

Galvanise5442d ago

Yeah, I heard a website was in the making, but that was ages ago. Hopefully ge gets one sorted out soon. Until then, i'm left asking around some of the Sony guys I know for Info, and they aren't always forthcoming in that respect.

-x.Red.x-5442d ago

did this on purpose
so MS/Nintendo thinks Sony has nothing "big" left to show

but i bet they was surprised when Sev posted the psp go box and kind of
"confirmed" ps3 slim

Mr_Showtime15442d ago

Well as the article states, rumor has it Microsoft are planning to annouce a portable at their conference which is before Sony's, therefore it would completely overshadow the annoucement of the PSP Go. By revealing it via an "accidental" Qore leak, it gets to all the Playstation owners directly and when it's put on the internet, it's cgoing to be a hell of alot more credible than some leaked box shots of a manufacturing plant. It's all about getting the upper hand on the competition!

Rock Bottom5442d ago

Isn't this the case with about 90% of the "so called" leaks?

decapitator5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Is this article written just to get hits ? Yeah, I think so.

Oh come on. Mistakes happen. One thing you also have to realize is "good" and "publicity" cannot exist in the same sentence when you talk about Sony. Enough with the conspiracy theories.

Traveler5442d ago

I suspect this "leak" probably was intentional. Just like the Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction "leaks".

Think of it this way. The hard core fans get excited by leaks because they feel like they are getting to see something that they weren't supposed to. At the same time these companies will still be able to make official announcements at E3 to the majority of people that don't pay a lot of attention to rumors and leaks on the internet.

Most people won't know about these things until they are shown out in the open at E3 and reported on by all the big game sites and magazines.

This way they create a lot of pre-E3 hype among the "hardcore" crowd and then later do a fuller revealing with more details and information for the more mainstream audience.

ChrisGTR15442d ago

who gives a shat about a psp go, that craap has no games. gime the ps3 slim and ill buy it on day 1!!

andron5442d ago

I think it's a stunt to build hype before E3, and if that's true it's a wise move. Get some extra buzz from the hardcore audience, and then back it up with even better news at the conference.

We won't know until after the conferences are done, but Sony's lack of damage control seems peculiar...

whoelse5442d ago

Could well be a stunt. No price was mentioned in the Qore episode, only a "fall release". Surely that would be an important thing to mention.

All eyes on Sony E3 conference.

i personally dont like the new look psp, i think it would be funny if all of this was just a joke on the fans (such as in-game shirts joke) and then at E3 they revealed an awesome looking psp with even better features and specs than said to be included in the PSP GO... ahh i can dream lol

lloyd_wonder5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

I love the new look of the PSP Go and will buy one day-one. It's also funny how people say the PSP has no games...

I can't wait to play Dissidia, Monster Hunter, God of War, FFVII Crisis Core, Kingdom Hearts, Grand Theft Auto, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo, Agito XIII, Rock Band, Motorstorm etc

Not to mention FFVII, MGS1 and RE1 PS1 classics on my PSP. Wait.. Did the PSP just become the hottest handheld out?

LukaX235442d ago

Whether or not this is a publicity stunt, Sony's got a lot of peoples attention. ;)

Party Boy5442d ago

No it doesn't. It looks way too small and cumbersome with that screen so close to your hands.

Official one beats that by a mile.

XxSpiiKeZxX5442d ago

comapred to the PSP GO this psp concept lookz better becuase the buttons resemble the dualshocks buttons and it has 2 dual analog sticks
it doesnt looked cramped at all though it would be better if it was curved like the GO

-x.Red.x-5442d ago

weird...

it kinda looks good but when you really look into it...

it just wouldn't work,..

decapitator5442d ago

Ok. One question though: How the hell do you expect to hold the shoulder buttons when you playing a game ? oh that's right, you can't.

I wasn't sure about this redesigned PSP at first but after looking at it for a while, it really isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. Chances are most people complaining never owned a PSP in the first place and had no plans to buy this new revision. Day one for me.

Smallest dogs bark the loudest (or some sh!t like that).

poopsack5442d ago

that thing would be a pain to carry in ur pocket, if it would even fit, and as decapitator said, wtfxup with the shoulder buttons, and since u say that its better since it has two analog sticks, then yes thats true, but thats something better for the PSP2, where it wouldnt alienate everyone else.

And the PSP Go looks better in real life than the pictures, when it was in veronica and the representative's hands it looked much nicer than the plain pictures and it seemed very comfortable to hold.

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

CrimsonWing696h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker5h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing695h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos11h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto10h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger8810h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

ChasterMies38m ago

Trevor in GTA 6 is a sadist and psychopath who dabbles in cannibalism. Should be top of the list. These game “news” sites should hire people that know games.
