Lost Planet 2 Confirmed For PC

Capcom has finally confirmed that it's highly anticipated 'Lost Planet 2' will be releasing on the PC as well as the Xbox 360. Capcom however will still not confirm if a PS3 version will be on the way.

Maybe, Ghost Busters has been announced as a timed exclusive and LP2 has not.

They talk about the possibility of the PS3 version as not zero percent and the fact this was in there:

"the official also confirmed that the site will provide a play experience"

I guess that means the demo will be out. This news is old and not new this was said days ago. The original says they could later on announce the PC version hinting that they'll probably do that.

At this point in time there is no other way to play this game without seeing a Microsoft logo before you boot up. Untill it says PC/PS3/360 it's exclusive only on Microsoft platforms.

Just to state yet again because it seems like I have to every time the pc is involved. I DO NOT OWN A 360...did you get that or do I need to go slower?

I'm a pc gamer that builds his own custom rigs. I've seen the outlandish claims time and time and time again where n4g users (specifically ps3 users during the whole Kz2 is better than crysis pre-kz2 release would claim gaming pc's cost 4k, or gaming pc's cost thousands of dollars a month to keep upgraded.

The fact is that yet another 360 "exclusive" is "exclusive" to the PC as well. Meaning that you dont have to own a 360 to play it.. meaning i can play it in my living room, with my 360 or -- thanks to new drivers, ps3 gamepad, in higher resolution and quality than the inferior console version.

The only person that gets it stuck to is you, for thinking that some how this is some attack on MS. Everyone owns windows Jason360. Its the only reason MS is still around because it sure as hell aint the dwindling game divisions that they are shutting down thats keeping it afloat.

1. His OS crashed again
2. The GPU he just bought some months before isn't capable enough to run the game anymore
3. RAM has already been eaten up by OS & other processes, more investments
4. The drivers he installed are instable or crap on the specific game
5. Framerate drops down 15fps
6. Another virus or trojan also influence gameplay
7. Sits behinds his uncomfortable desk, gaming on a device thats called a keyboard (which is made to type on, not to game on) and a mouse (which is made to give direction to your mouse pointer not to shoot).
8. Works on a monitor, and not a bigass 40 inch or bigger HDTV
9. Has no pop in and play gaming
10. Has countless installation processes (as the PS3 is a semi PC, forced installation for many games)

Too freaking funny. I have been PC gamer for some time but its really not much fun and certainly not entertaining like a console is. PC gaming is only good for WoW and RTS. Thats about it. The rest is more fun on a console. A PC is made for typing in Word, surfing the net and MSN.

As I remember, Killzone 1 wasn't that well-received, and Lost Planet got higher overall reviews than that did. Your logic is invalid because of something called the genetic fallacy. You automatically assume the second game in the series is going to be as bad as the first, yet Sony fanboys had no problem hyping the sequel to a flop for years, and it turned out well for them. As gamers, we needed to have with us a little bit of faith and optimism when it comes to games. From the footage that has been shown so far, the game looks quite good, but of course this is not an accurate assumption, merely a hope. So all I'm saying is that the first game doesn't prove the second will be as bad. It just doesn't.

Thats not a timed exclusive. Timed exclusives are planned strategies for software releases. Devs saying they might think about making a PS3 version later on is not a timed exclusive deal hahaha. Let me shed some light on this for you. Obviously you are in the dark on this. A timed exclusive is any game that starts out exclusive on one platform and then some months or year later is able to be made for a different system. Bioshock is a great example. It stayed exclusive to 360 and Games for Windows for over a year. It was a timed exclusive. If a game was just exclusive to one console you would not see it on another console ever. It is written into contracts. You almost sounded smart for a second dude. Good try. But fail.

I quite enjoyed the game, even if it's not the est game of the world and it's a crappy port.

What I found silly is Capcom's behaviour, with this exclusive story many devs are losing the face and lots of money.

Look at Capcom, less than a year ago they said that all the titles would have been multi, then Inafune said that Dead Rising and LP2 would have been multi but 360 version would have had extra content, then now, no one knows anything about this game.
Frankly, you can own whatever kind of hardware, but they look pathetic anyway, you can be happy if the game is exclusive for your console, but they will ALWAYS look pathetic.

Then look at Bethesda and all the Fallout 3 DLC matter.
They're losing money that PS3 owners would willingly paid for them, and they're losing the fanbase, since many people will start to boycott them.

And you know what, Rockstar is not experiencing this problem because they have always been clear with the fanbase, "Sorry, we got an increadible load of money, so don't expect the stuff for your system"

Capcom and Bethesda can't lose money they never had, genius. Capcom and Bethesda make calculated decisions just like any business should do. Obviously, there are reason why the two choose to support the 360 more than the PS3. It's called $$$. Microsoft has lots and promises them money for many things. Sony doesn't need to stoop to that level, but obviously if you really need the extra, superfluous content, then go ahead and buy a 360.

They might not be losing money in your mind since they never had it, but thats only common sense that they are losing potential sales which in turns means they are losing money.

If Bioshock would have been released on the ps3 at the same time as the 360 version, it would have sold much better than it did when it hit the ps3 at a later date. The reason being is the interest in the game was a lot lowered by then, especially when you had other great games hitting the system around its ps3 release date.

I could say the same if konami was ever to ( highly unlikely at this point )release MGS4 for the 360. It would sell but not nearly as much as it would have done had it been a simultaneous release.

Even if bethesda released a GOTY edition of Fallout 3, they won't make as much money as they could have if the dlc was released at the same time. Everyone who wanted to play the extra content probably has done so by now

True. I agree with everything you said there. But, I actually want to play Fallout 3's DLC but only when they release it in a boxed version rather than online. Bethesda probably didn't release the DLC for PS3 because of a back end deal with MS. I think MS probably paid a lot of money to keep it exclusive so Bethesda probably received enough money to compel them. Think of it this way. If they had released it on PS3 for the same price and had gotten maybe 2 million sales for each DLC they would have gotten 60 million dollars altogether. That's only if you assume that the sales for each DLC pack for Fallout 3 sells 2 million on PS3. I imagine MS matched that and paid them even more just to keep it exclusive.

I loved the first ones multiplayer and the SP was a quick fun trip.

The second looks to be leaps and bounds ahead of the first in every aspect and so I really want to get my hands on it. Times like these I pat myself on the back, because as far as gaming goes I have all platforms covered.

First or third, it's really irrelevant. Gears of War was better on PC, too.

Also, I own all 3 consoles. Shooters are better on PC. The right analog stick sucks for shooters, or any game where aiming comes into play. Not all games are: I wouldn't play a Jrpg on a PC. Prince of Persia was annoying to control on PC, but felt great on the consoles.

If you're going to play shooters, save your cash and by a PC. There is NO substitute for a mouse.

I would most unlikely buy this for my pc. I only played LP1 demos of both 360 and PS3's so I don't no how crap the full game was. A lot of 360 fans said LP1 was rubbish when it got announced for PS3. So I didn't bother with either versions.

I never played the PS3 version of the first game, but I did play the 360 version and I thought it was ok. With so many other good games coming out on both platforms Lost Planet 2 will have to really be heads and shoulders above its predecessor for me to consider getting it.

Lost planet did not feel right with a controller and i did not have a pc in 2007. I am about to get an amazing gaming pc soon so i will be picking this game up for pc as long as it is a games for windows game (i want to talk to my friends on live).

the ps3 is more powerful than the 360, its a fact. However that doesnt mean the 360s graphics cant still stun people and its games cant be amazing. Lostplanet 2 looks to have crap controls like the first :( but graphically at least it looks more than above average, no KZ2 beater though, or uncharted actually. spesh not UC2
