"Apple's one billion app countdown contest is over and they have finally revealed the name of the winner, so unless you are one Connor Mulcahey from the fine state of Connecticut, that means you have lost.
According to the press release issued by Apple this morning, Connor Mulcahey, a 13-year-old from Weston, CT, was the grand prize winner. Connor will be receiving a $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule, and a MacBook Pro. The billionth application downloaded was Bump by Bump Technologies."

AFK Journey is one of the best games I’ve played this year, and comes close to being the perfect idle RPG.
Leniu Games has started taking pre-registrations of its Nordic fantasy open world MMO, Flame of Valhalla. This game features the War of Gods erupted in the mystical realm of Asgard, known as the land of gods as seen in various movies and TV series. The game is expected to release in first half of May 2024.
that a 13 year old won the grand prize. I still don't understand why Apple felt it was necessary to give them and iPod Touch (since he clearly owns that or the iPhone already), but the other prizes are quite amazing. I honestly don't know how I would spend $10,000 on iTunes. Maybe I would just buy 1001 albums for $9.99 each, so I could always have that 1 penny left over. :)
yeh haha the chances of winning were crazy. a billion apps downloaded is pretty amazing tbh even though obv loads are free/cheap and ppl generally have lots on their iphone/touch.
Can you sell the card? The best part is the laptop. Who wants 10k in iTunes, freaking Apple. They basically gave themselves ten grand, over time. I'd take it, but I wouldn't be overly excited.
Now where is the damn nokia store? I want apps for my freaking N96. The Effin thing is not even compatible with 99% of N95 apps. The accelerometer has 2 games since its launch in 0ct 2008, im really disappointed at my purchase this time. $700 down the drain.
I knew it wasn't going to be me.
