Rumor: GTAIV Episodic Content Coming to PlayStation 3

PSInsider writes: GTAIV The Lost & Damned will likely be released mid-year 2010 in the storm of hype Take-Two will be producing for it's next full release Grand Theft Auto title. It will come with at least the Lost and Damned episode available on Xbox Live right now, as well as the next episode, and will retail on a disc for around $40 on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The source also believes the second episode will be released on Xbox Live later this year, and we also have a very strong hunch we will see some more of the next episode by this summer.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz what ever
I want to know about that exclusive they are working on for PS3. You know one about which Jack Tretton spoke on PSblog.

sonarus5523d ago

lol microsoft probably already bought exclusive DLC for that exclusive as well. Microsoft may not be able to afford buying exclusive games anymore but they sure can afford some nice DLC

kevnb5523d ago (Edited 5523d ago )

how evil it was of microsoft to work out a deal with R* when they really needed to borrow that money... almost as evil as sony is for keeping square in business back when they needed it. Or how about when the gta games had to be exclusive to ps2 for a year? hmmm.

Mikerra175523d ago

are you saing microsoft will buy exclusive DLC for a game that is exclusive to the PS3, Im sorry your logic = fail

stevenhiggster5523d ago

I think he was joking. But it wouldn't surprise me anyway lol

gaffyh5523d ago

I think Mike just had the biggest fail in history, it's incredibly obvious that Sonarus was joking. Mainly cos he wrote "lol" in front of his post. LMAO.

andron5523d ago

I wrote a blog long ago about PS3 getting the DLC, and it will probably happen.

A PS3 retail version of GTAIV with both Episodes on one Blu-Ray around christmas is not a bad bet. Possibly a ultimate game of the year edition.

GTA V will probably not be here until late 2010 and this would be a great way to keep the GTA franchise alive in the publics mind...

I'm tired of hearing ps3 fanboys cry like a bunch of babbies.I'm tired of hearing all their lies like Sony don't steal or buy exclusives, sony never coppy any one, they all coppy sony. When they lie like this, only sh*t comes out their mouth.
The fact is that metal gear solid, ninja gaiden, final fantasy, and some other ps exclusives was nintendo exclusives first. When sony first came out with the ps1 they went right after nintendo. They stole(a stupid ps3 fanboy claim),or bought them away from nintendo and that's a damn fact so stop crying and lieing.Microsoft made online play popular then sony coppied that.Sony claimed that people don't want a media center when microsoft said they wanted to make the xbox 1.Sony said that their games will be better because unlike microsoft they will beable to make better games because they could put all their time into just games .

I'm not saying that sony didn't do great things for gameing and it's not a good system .As a matter of fact i think it's the complete opposite. The problem is that ps3 fanboys worship the ps3 like it's god.H*ll if you don't jump up and down and get on your knees and preach how great the almight god ps3 is then you are bias and hate sony.Just look what they emailed to x-play.He gave kz2 a perfect score and said the visual was 1 of the best he seen. They still had ps3 fanboys emailing him because of what he said about kz2.They called him bias and sayed he hates the ps3 and even called him names.

y0haN5522d ago (Edited 5522d ago )

Of course DLC will come to PS3, but not Lost and Damned nor the second piece in October, those were paid for by Microsoft's lovely Live subscribers. Dan Houser said it was very likely the PS3 would get its own content sometime in the future. And I sincerely doubt they will let such a profitable opportunity and commitment to the fans on the 'other' console slip by.

Also @ above: there is a reason you have one bubble. Please leave, you're lowering the average IQ on the site by quite a margin.

And as I said when 360 DLC was announced.... who cares. zzzz

tatotiburon5523d ago

who cares? by the end of the year more than 2 millions gamers will care

Will_Smith5523d ago

how will 2 million care? are you talking about 2 million who ALREADY bought the DLC or are you speaking from your glass ball into the future that 2 million PS3 owners will want this crap DLC

i will be surprised if you even find 200,000 people that care about GTA4 in 2010. I'll be too busy playing full exclusive games by then

~The Fresh Prince of Bell Air now on DVD!!

somekindofmike5523d ago

@ tatotiburon

I agree with Will on this one, did you just pull a magic number out of a hat? is it 2 million who have downloaded on 360? because if so why would they care?

@ Will Smith

You may not be that bothered about GTA4 dlc and neither am I, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it crap dlc. as far as dlc goes it's up there with the best, but too many games and too little time means even if it did make it to PS3 (which I don't think it will) I don't think i'll be getting it.

Pennywise5523d ago

Dont act like GTA was fun... Old school GTA had a buzz about it. The feel of being deviant robbing cars, banging hookers and beating up innocent ppl... This game was just repetitive boring game play. I get bashed for it every time I say it, but boring game gets DLC TWO YEAR later - WHO CARES. Give us a good game R*.

Johnny_Cojones5523d ago

...that causes ten months to become 2 years?

Or maybe that's just a symptom of your gnat-like attention span?

Pennywise5523d ago (Edited 5523d ago )

Johnny_Cojones - Please pass me what you are smoking and you might learn some knowledge from your elders - like how 2008-2010 is TWO YEARS.

GTA released 04-2008. Right? Right. You're wrong.

Mindboggle5523d ago

Whatever...even though GTAIV was a little dissapointing and wasnt as fun as the previous games, it was still a bloody good game, and I would buy it day one if it came out for PS3, and so will loads of others//

Johnny_Cojones5523d ago (Edited 5523d ago )

See, I was thinking of it in the context of the fact that I got the DLC when it released in February of this year.

Those of us who aren't blindly loyal to a particular system have the option of owning them all, & playing games when they are originally released.

Pennywise5523d ago (Edited 5523d ago )

I am not blindly loyal... I love how when a informed consumer decides not to buy all the consoles for whatever reasons they are labeled.

I wont buy a car that is known to overheat. I wont buy a boat that sinks. I would never buy a house with a cracked foundation or a phone with no buttons to dial out. Ive been burnt before making bad purchases and I have learned my lesson.

Most gamers I know can not be without their gaming system for two weeks at any given time... yeah, yeah it might be fixed or w/e but now what exciting MUST HAVE games are there to sway me to buying something that I already have? And then to pickup just another bill a month(as small as it might be) for something I already have for free?? I just dont see the benefit for me...

Not that you care, but now you know... so quit taking cheap shots at me because I am here allllll day with comebacks. You know, with my gnat-like attention span buzzing around your head all day.

No Way5523d ago

Don't act like you don't care.. You "don't care" because you can't download it.
There are obviously many people that care about the DLC.

Pennywise5523d ago

I dont care because I DID NOT LIKE GTA.

My cousin couldnt understand it... he played it until it was complete, but this was after 6-7 months just sitting there not being played. I enjoyed the MP until I could never find rooms without autoaim.

No Way5523d ago

If you don't care, then why bother posting? You obviously care enough about.. something, to post.

The DLC is actually better than the original game.

cayal5522d ago

@ No Way - Free world, he can voice his opinion. And he is right. GTAIV was mediocre. I do not care at all for the DLC, especially not 2 years later.

No Way5522d ago

So, is his opinion the correct opinion, then? Or, yours for that matter?

If he gave reasons, fine, that's all good and dandy. But, all he said was no one cares, and if he didn't care or had nothing to add to the discussion, then why bother posting? o.O

cayal5522d ago

Opinion is neither right nor wrong, it's just what they think of a certain issue.

You can't factually prove GTAIV (or any game) is bad or good (I realise I used the wrong word, I should have said I agreed with him).

ape0075523d ago

was very good,R will definately get a lot of money anda lot of ps3 and hardcore gta fan will be happy

do it R

Max Power5523d ago

but what is "R"? do you mean "R*"?

lordgodalming5523d ago

R is referring to Rockstar, the company behind GTA. Back on topic, I'm sure some PS3 owners will be psyched about getting the DLC on their own console, but does that mean that MS dropped 50mil for a TIMED exclusive? Yow.

Dawn_Of_Ashes5523d ago

what the hell? Microsoft paid a exclusivity deal with r*. I dont think it will ever come to ps3 since ms paid something aroud 25 or 50 millions for this dlc

-EvoAnubis-5523d ago

MS bought this content. I don't see it appearing on the PS3.

Brodiesan5523d ago

The exact terms of the exclusivity deal are not public. It could be timed but, for the price they paid, I'm thinking that it's unlikely it will ever be on PS3.

I think this is a shame but, as other have said, I think PS3 fans will get by.
:)

Sheikh Yerbouti5523d ago

...by 2010, I'm not going to want DLC for a game that is two years old, especially if the DLC has already been out for over a year. Forget that!

Let 360 owners have the DLC to themselves.

I rather not have a game because it is exclusive to a console I do not have than to be insulted by company who thinks I can wait longer for a game to come out on my console.

Ahmay5523d ago (Edited 5523d ago )

but Yakuza has caught my eyes first... now i'm curious about gta series... but i'm still more interested in yakuza...

even if it comes out, i wont be bothered. buying over-hyped GTA4 was the biggest mistake. thank god KZ2 at least lived up to the hype.

I woupdn't update the game. It doesnt have game breaking issues and I would lose one of the radio stations.

jeromeface1524d ago

steam has removed this option

monkey6021524d ago

"Thankfully, players will seemingly easily be able to update their game to the new version easily by simply installing "

What the fuck kind of sentence structure is that?!

GTA4 was the worst game in the entire series and the only one I've ever truly hated

SegaSaturn6691524d ago

I really liked the tv stations on gta 4. Other than that, I agree. Horrible racing missions.

CrimsonWing691524d ago

I guess they can’t afford editors.

Orionsangel1524d ago

They'll never get rid of how slow and sluggish these games feel. Your character and vehicles feel too heavy. Even on the most powerful rigs. I love how GTAV fixed it though.

Profchaos1524d ago (Edited 1524d ago )

Your character was a mid 30/40 year old personally I felt like he controlled the way most people in that age range move.
And it had better driving physics than v did cars have weight and it felt correct compared to v everything drives like a sports car and turns corners on a dime

DerfDerf1524d ago

The driving physics in GTA4 were far superior to 5. Everyone complains because of the physics engine used but it's one of the things I love about 4

The 5 Most Shocking Grand Theft Auto Moments

USgamer:"By the time the average American teenager has reached the ninth grade, chances are they've been exposed to one or two (or 20) graphically violent films. When I was growing up, most parents seemed to accept (if not condone) the viewing of these kinds of movies and television shows. It was inevitable that their children would eventually discover them. I vividly remember a friend's father renting a Freddy Kruger film for us when we were 12 years old. The year was 2002 – just a few months after the release of Grand Theft Auto III."
