Does anyone play this game anymore? I used to play it a lot back when it was released but then moved on to other games. The mod thing was pretty, wasn't handled well by the devs. I will give this game another go just for trophies.

What do you mean by, the mods not being handled well by the devs? They did a terrific job allowing mod support.

xhi45542d ago

haha i think i was one of the few who bought the game, now with split screen and my mods i'll definitely go back to it

I played it yesterday, tried out a few mods as well (PS3). This is great news, this game looks really good and is very intense and fun to play! And Trophies:D Better mod support is great (maybe they mean support for sounds on the ps3?)
And better AI is a bonus...great, can't wait til March 5th!

my bro will now get back to it, that's for sure. great update.

By not handled well means, the whole mods concept was cool, but downloading a mod on PC copying it to a usb in a stupidly named folder and then importing it in the game & I can't remember and I may be wrong but I think you could add only one mod at a time, so it was really a chore. They should have the mod browser support from day 1 or should have been patched long time ago. The game came out around Nov./Dec of 2007. so yeah thats what I mean by not handling well.

Well your obviously making more of it than you need to. Certain UT mod sources, such as http://www.ut3mod.com/ allow you to download the mods from the PS3 browser. No need for a PC what so ever and it's been like that since day one.

3rd time this news has been approved !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its brilliant news but do we need it posted 3 times with 3 different titles ???

I thought mods were a great addition and like fishy fingers said you can download mods using the PS3 browser but you still need a memory stick and not all the mods were on that site, so it was still a pain. But this mod browser is a welcome addition...and i hope everyone goes back to ut3 as its a brilliant game.

A news like that can be posted more than 3 times and I won't be mad...

It's a lot more features for an old game for FREE... Dang, somebody post his opinion about the 360 > than PS3 or vice-versa on a BLOG and this get posted 20 times... I hate BLOG posts, and yet, we see them over, and over in NEWS for gamers.

So if one news deserve as much headlines as it can, it's devs giving us so much for FREE. Most devs would have made us pay for all this. Dang, there's nothing I hate more than DLC being available for $$$ one week after a game release. Common, just include it in the game! But those guys did an awesome job. I'm glad I bought the game and sure enough will come back to it.

We had 5 in approval for over 1-2 hours and it wouldn't get approved. All I did was add my own title that would help the article and it was instantly approved. I was trying to get the news out to the masses faster.

when COD4 implements trophies. That mile high club on veteran mode is going to separate the men from the boys.

It's just a plain shame not enough people bought this and after mastering it I sold it. But I might buy it back now!
BUY THIS GAME!

Megaton5542d ago

The online in this game was dead a few months after it was released. I traded it in at Blockbuster for $33 and bought Uncharted. Now that it's down to $20 new, I might buy it again for this substantial patch. The modding in this was great, and there were some really cool maps too.

I thought the communication was nerfed in the game. Poor quality and halfway through matches, friends would lose the audio altogether. And if I remember you had to press right on the D-pad to talk anyway, making it impossible in the heat of battle to effectively communicate with your team. Never tried it with the new bluetooth though.

sinncross5542d ago

I think I'm going to give this a try!

killax35635542d ago

This game is only $20.... when a game is that cheap, its never too late.

this update is equal to a new sequel.
