WorthPlaying Review: Fallout 3 - Operation: Anchorage

WP writes: "The Capital Wasteland is a vast and lonely place, and a wandering soul could spend months, maybe even years scouring its surface and still not discover every hidden secret it holds. In fact, just this week a new treasure trove of adventure was found, and those who have longed for a reason to go back into the desolation of the not-so-distant future will no doubt be pleased. This time, however, you aren't fighting irradiated mutants on a scorched and withered plain; oh no, for this particular mission you'll find the battlefield to be a lot more chilly.

Operation: Anchorage, the first of Bethesda's promised three DLC packs for Fallout 3, starts out like so many other missions before. As you're traversing the wastes, your Pip-Boy picks up a distress signal coming from a group of frantic Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts. After tracking down the source, you find a group of your beleaguered brethren in a pitched battle against a squadron of Super Mutants. Once you clear the path and escort the boys back to their base, they begin to take a keen interest in you. You see, they've made their base at an old armory, yet they can't get the doors open to access the equipment in the vault. This is because the lock is controlled not by your average security terminal or key-operated door, but rather a virtual-reality program that none of them have been able to crack. Lucky for them, your Pip-Boy grants you access to the simulation, which will allow them to finally access the treasure trove of hidden goodies in the vault."

Can I be bothered to go back to Fallout 3....

No

MasterD9194307d ago

And of course Skyrim's Dawngaurd DLC isn't in the mix...

TrendyGamers4307d ago

Most people have all this DLC already.

KingOfArcadia4307d ago

Dang, got excited there for a second. Then I realized that I've already played through all the FO3 add-ons, I just bought the Oblivion GOTY edition yesterday, and Dawnguard last week.

FIX YOUR GAME FIRST, IT'S BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS!

MrDead4363d ago

I love these games but they do drive me insane, save often or you could lose a lot of hard work when it crashes and it always does.

Broken Steel is by far the most broken of the DLC when I'm in the main courtyard of the steel works the game almost stutters to a halt.

A good tip, if your game starts to slow bring up your pipboy for a few seconds and it seems to sort out the problem, works better in New Vegas.

Suddenbrain4363d ago

Maybe I'm not disappointed that this isn't available in the US then. I haven't played any of the DLC yet but just assumed bugs would have been worked out by now. That's pretty sad if it is still broken.

Megaton4363d ago

Heard the DLC is unplayable on PS3.

MrDead4363d ago (Edited 4363d ago )

Only had big problems with Broken Steel save and reload if you have issues.

NastyLeftHook04363d ago

i played it. how is playing it unplayable? makes no sense to me.

Tru_Blu4363d ago

I got 100% on FO3. Great game but the main game is buggy as hell and the DLC is 10 times worse.

Megaton4363d ago

Yeah, I got a plat in F3, but I got YLoD before the DLC came out. Heard it was way more unstable than the main game, which was pretty bad itself.

I remembered Europe already had a discount on Fallout dlc shortly after ps plus started. I would've purchased all the dlc and get 100% of the trophies. Too bad.
