IGN AU: Resistance 2 Review

IGN:
"Back when the PS3 had everything to prove and the road ahead was steep and rocky, Insomniac was to Sony what Rare was to Nintendo during the mid-90s. With Resistance, the company proved the PS3 was capable of incredibly sophisticated single and multiplayer gameplay for adults. With Ratchet and Clank, the onus was back on the all-ages market, with equal critical and market success. Now, with Resistance 2, Insomniac reaffirms why you bought a PS3 – it's a game of impressive depth and considered content, with A-grade presentation and production values and only a handful of quirks that prevent it from significantly pushing the genre forward and propelling the game straight to the top.

More than that though, the Resistance series has arguably proven to be a steadfast rock for hardcore Sony gamers to lean upon in a ho-hum market filled with me-toos and exclusive franchises on competing platforms. In a sea awash with shooter generica, Resistance 2 is a life-raft."
