Games Convention Asia 2007, coming to Singapore

Leipziger Messe, the people behind the highly-successful Leipzig Gaming Convention in Germany, now brings another of their highly-anticipated events to Asia. To be specific, they will be holding Games Convention Asia 2007 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, from September 6 to 9.

According to their latest release, GCA 2007 aims to address issues related to "the development needs and opportunities presented by Asia's rapidly growing digital interactive gaming industry". They have also noted that the event will be divided into two areas: the Business Convention side where international publishers and distributors can sample the products of Asian developers, and the Public Convention side.

The organizers have also noted that they're expecting that a large number of the people attending the event will be composed of gamers, for whom a number of games competitions are being planned. They are also encouraging parents to drop by and take a look, so that they can try out new, family-oriented software and hardware.

The first of its kind in Asia, GCA 2007 has already received the blessings from several organizations within the region, such as iPark Singapore from Korea, China Game Publishers Association, Vietnam Software Association, The Indonesian Animation & Content Industry Association, Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association, and Taipei Computer Association, to name a few.
