L.A. Noire: A Year Off and No Longer PS3 Exclusive?

Crago confirmed that "it's got - I'd suggest - another year or so to go". He also mentioned that it "could be the biggest budget videogame in development anywhere in the world. It would certainly... in terms of console titles, be in the top ten... LA Noire is a massive massive project."

And last, but by no means least, he mentioned that the game is coming to PS3 and 360 - up until now the title has only been confirmed for PS3. We'll let you know as soon as we can get independent confirmation from either Team Bondi or Rockstar.

Well if that's the case lets see what happens if Third party developers stopped developing for the PS3. Funny you say that but when FF13 went Multi Plat it caused a ruckus on the internet. That was a huge blow to Sony and even hardcore PS3 fanboys can admit that. Also when GTA4, DMC4, AC6 which were formerly PS3 exclusives went Multi Plat hurt sony as well because i'm pretty sure there were fans of those games who would've bought a PS3 instead of a 360 so that they can play that game.. Last gen third party exlusives was the huge reason why the PS2 destroyed the competition.. But this Gen theres no such thing as third party exlusives except MGS4.. So the biggest factor in which console gamers are going to chooose is price.. Nintendo is moving console because of the new concept and cheaper console compared to the 360/PS3 before the price drop for the 360.
Yes TP support is pretty much non existant on the Wii and that is the main complaint about the Wii. Go ask any wii owners who also have either a 360 or PS3 which they played more after they got sick of Wii sport and beat Mario.

Wow, I bet you're one of those people who think Final Fantasy XIII is going to get "gimped" because it's coming to the 360. They already confirmed that FF13 will most probably come on multiple discs.

Listen, without looking at Processing Power and Disc format, the 360 and the PS3 are almost the same in every other categories including Memory, Graphics etc. The only notable differences is that the PS3 has a much more powerful CPU (meaning about executing 3 times the amount of logical and mathematical calculations the 360 does every second) and a Blu-Ray Drive. The 360 is easier to develop for and its disc reading speed is a lot faster than PS3's BD-Drive meaning faster loading times for the 360.

So far, no developer has claimed to have pushed the 360 to its limit meaning that there can be games in the future that are better looking and more CPU-consuming than now. Developers love the potential of the PS3's hardware but have a hard time developing on it.

So, please explain how can the 360 "gimp" a PS3 game development if no developer has pushed it to its limit yet?

Bluray = a GTA4 as long as, or longer, than GTA san andreas
DVD = GTA4 shorter than san andreas

And The ps3's bluray drive is only slightly slower than the 360's DVD drive, Keep in mind that the ps3's is 2x and the 360's 12x.

Now I'd go ahead and list technical reasons why the 360 gimps games, and im sure you are aware of the multi-disc problem.

But there are no 360 games that can eclipse gears of war when it comes to visuals and technical specifications.

Halo3

Thats it.. Show me a Killzone2 on the 360, or hell. Even an Uncharted. The game Gametrailers said was the best looking console game out last year. Show me something that can compare to the opening scene of Heavenly Sword. Show me a game with the sheer scale of Resistance. W/Particle/MotionBlur/ObjectMo tionBlur/Dynamics/Cloth etc.

Show me a game that looks as good as Uncharted does, and streams. You wont be able to name anything, or show any screens or videos of any of this. You just *think* the 360is better, but the hardware and its games speak for themselves when they come to visuals. In fact, left4dead is showing of GRAIN on the camera as a blazing new special effect. LOL.

Thats why games get gimped, because there are a ton of people out there that couldn't afford a ps3 and bought a 360. More so than 360 owners, so developers unfortunately used to have to cater to the larger audience. But when GTA4 sells more on the ps3 worlwdie. Things change.

Like how games are all starting to lead on the stronger hardware, then the 360 can play catchup with its downloadable content that cant fit on a disc.

Think about it.. if the 360 really wasn't limited. Pure would look as good as motorstorm. Mercenaries would look as good as uncharted. RacePRO would look like GTHD at least.

All you can do is shake your head and say the opposite, because you definitely can't back it up with games bro. The PS3 is the stronger console this gen when it comes to horsepower. Anyone can compare any multiplat to a PS3 exclusive to see that truth.

Well, I do know one thing for sure, Rockstar is supposed to be coming out with a PS3 exclusive and I'm guessing that L.A. Noire just wasn't that game.

Plus, hardly anything was revealed about L.A. Noire and the game is still pretty much a mystery.

The game will probably be multiplatform, but right now I don't know much about the game and really could care less if it's a PS3 exclusive or not.... and if this game is supposed to be another year off and it's supposed to be this big game, you would think that there would be a teaser trailer or something announced from this game at Leipzig or at E3 this year.

This game was never announced as an exclusive, it was just never mentioned for other platforms. This was never the exclusive that Rockstar and Sony have going so it could go either way still.

PC gaming is dead, if WOW never existed it would be dead for good. The only good game coming to the pc is diablo 3. Which probably is just coming to the consoles. PC gaming wouldnt be dead if they learned how to create a more secure serial registration. Serials are killing pc gaming. Its so easy to go online and find a keygen in 1 min. Thats why half of the new pc games don't even have keygens. They just figured theres no way of stopping the game being pirated so why bother. Even the head dev from crytech said crysis was pirated more than it was bought. Thats how it is with all pc games. Plus PC gaming is expensive. You have to upgrade your pc every other month to play the latest games. When I can just use my PS3 and have the same experience for much cheaper. Sorry but I lost all interest in pc gaming. reason no platform has been announced is because they're actively trying persuade sony or MS to buy it as exclusive. I'm sure they'd prefer building it on PS3 (because of storage), but maybe Sony won't cut them a deal they want. But who knows with Sony dropping eight days and the getaway maybe they have something exclusive lined up for us.

Its more than likely not going to fit on one disk. So that means no cigar for the 360. Unless you want to swap the disk and load the other half of the game. Or install it and take up your entire HDD. Thats why the 360 is holding all the multi platform games back. The devs are trying to find ways to fit so much crap onto one disk. Which takes a long time. Sandbox games cant have 2 disks. Heres my answer to this. If the game cant fit on a dvd, just make it for the ps3 only. Simple as that. Dont waste time trying to find advanced ways to compress the game to fit it on a dvd. Thats why we have bluray.

If this is not a ps3 exclusive then what is the third PS3 exclusive R* is making for the PS3 (I am not sure if it is 2 or 3). I am actully happy this is not one of those 3 games R* is making exclusive for the PS3. inFamous was the only open word game in my list for next year and I didn't really want to add another one to it. Open world games are good but at the most one per year. So it is good that this game isn't one of those three games. Hopefully the next exclusive they are making isn't an open world game.

One less multi-plat that wont be getting my money. You see the thing is, most PS3 owners only buy exclusives that take advantage of the PS3 hardware, blu-ray and the cell to its full potential. Since this generation is full of gimped games(thank you 360) i'll have to buy the ones that deserve my time.

This is silly, the PS3 has just lost another one… it’s a growing trend. It isn’t the end of the world but is disheartening for Playstation fans that assumed their console would have a slew of exclusives instead of the multi-plat games. I suppose they could look at it another way… the extra money they spent was really for the wi-fi, Hard drive and Blue-ray player. So although they hard a few exclusives the companies need to make their money on the development costs which is why they are in business. I am starting to dislike the idiots claiming to be gamers that brag about PS3 games and bash anything going onto 360 as well… evidentially they are also giving MS free publicity with their whining too. The thing is multiplatforms are often sh*t compared to exclusives. The biggest issue with ps3 exclusives coming to the 360 is that the game often needs to be downgraded in size due to fitting on the dvd-9 format. If they are keeping the full size of the game and ships it over to the 360 then it's just fine but playing a game that is not what it should have been feels meh...

Imagine playing half of Gears of war 2 just because the Wii couldn't handel the original size of it. You must be able to relate to that?

My god...I know a guy at Team Bondi, and I checked their web site out about six months ago, which prominently displays both 360 and PS3 logos alongside this title.

Another potential AAA going multiplatform then... they don't use 100% specific hardware, so they have to concentrate on 2 versions = bugs, lack of things, bad graphic.... i start hating multiplatform (ni both the consoles), i'm having fun only with exclusives now, but Infinite Undiscovery that i thought it was really good and instead was a bad purchase...
