First pics of 360 and PS3 motion controller

US peripherals giant acquires British developers

Gaming accessories company In2Games, developer of motion sensing gaming technology for the PS3 and Xbox 360 has released the first picture of its 360/PS3 motion controller.

In2Games' Gametrak Freedom is described as, "a remarkable ultrasonic 3D motion sensing technology which delivers performance, control and flexibility far in excess of that offered by existing technologies."

In2Games site shows a video of people playing with it wireless. ( http://www.squeeballs.com/) the game looks crap though...
so either the video is fake or this image is for the PS2 version which is wired

Real World Golf (with the Darth Vader gloves with wires), some sh*tty PS2 motion-control games that were utterly broken and now this. And check the Squeeballs website, which certainly doesn't fill me with much excitement about this... I'll be keen to see if it actually works and also if any proper developers are getting involved... but until I've played a decent motion-controlled videogame (still not played one on Wii, Wii Sports control was awful... so perhaps WiiMotion Plus might remedy that?) I'll reserve judgement.

it could be cool to use it to play real games and not games like cooking mama or any other crappy casual game. now we can get the full experience with HD graphics and motion sensing.

Have the PS2 motion controller with World Golf from in2games. Plays quite well actually. Will get this on for PS3. Bring it on.

I don't know this can do good on either the PS3 or 360 if there is no 1st party support of the device. Now if successful this does make it easier to port successful Wii games for 360/PS3. But I don't see this being a revolution to pull casuals into the 360/PS3 away from the Wii. It seems to me Nintendo has built a product recognition in a small sexy shiny white box that appeals to a mass market much like the Ipod did, even if something comes out to 1 up it mind share will not come easy. But its not to say this cannot help the PS3 and 360 on a casual front. I have from the beginning thought that if the Wiimote succeeded we would see the features in future consoles(though I personally have not been convinced 100% yet I thinks its been accepted well enough to stick around in one form or another).

As far as Nintendo and lawsuits even they are paying to use the technologies in the Wiimote and its very likely the same people that made the tech for the Wiimote will be involved in these devices for other companies(think I have read something on this being the case). And basic controller design may be hard to patten completely as it is so similar to a TV remote sure the button layout maybe, but the Wii was not the 1st remote with a trigger I have seen these done before for projectors.Should be interesting regardless.

I think what they plan to do is sell a different controller for every game as the tech is getting cheaper by the day. EA was talking about that before. IE the new balance board for Skate It.

I think what this is what EA was talking about peripherals they may include one of these as a golf club with their games. If its not overpriced it may work. Asides from that I dont see lots of devs jumping on this bandwagon. Unless MS wants to include it in the arcade for six months with a wii sports copy but they may not want to spend the money. But again that casual market is killing them so you never know. When did they say this was coming out 09?

Motion Plus? I know the Wii remote by itself cannot sense 1 to 1; only directions and twist. It seems like this will give 1 to 1, but if Wii Motion Plus can do that too, are they saying their tech beats the Wiimote or Motion Plus. If they can "beat" Wii Motion Plus, I would like to see real proof because neither of these have been released so for now, both of them are just PR and PRomises.

Also, why did he say: "Until now, gaming has been limited to the player interacting with the game although platforms such as the Wii have heightened this experience. Now, with the latest motion sensing technology created by In2Games, the game will interact with the player." I'm confused, how does a game "interact with YOU" in a way that the Wii (and Motion Plus) can't? The only way I see the game interacting with YOU is true virtual reality. As of now, the closest thing a console has is the Wiimote+balance board.

Since this is third party, I don't think it will be as big of a selling point for the 360/PS3 as the Wii.

what they mean is that it maps you kind of like a GPS does and tracks all movement not just your motions left right etc. It is a little exaggerated but what it boils down to is lets say a golf game the wiimote can not determine the speed of your swing as opposed to this where it can measure the speed and power etc. in your swing so its more technical or as they would want you to think "more hard core" I want one for my kid but im still skeptical until I play around with it.

I know this is business, but damn this is low. And the funny thing is: IT WON'T WORK!. Anyone who bought a 360/ps3 obviously prefer a traditional gamepad. There will probably be about 2-3 games that use this controller optimally. Wii owners have nothing to worry about, imo.

Microsoft and sony must be pretty desperate to make something they claim was a gimmick, and to make it worse there is no way it will ever work properly. Look at the wii how many games actually work with the system it was made for, and these copies aren't even that. Well it looks like they got that point again either follow the future or be done in by it.

We,(XBOX 360/PS3)the hardcore are more than HAPPY with our conventional pads! We don't want change, we want refinement. We want graphics, increased AI, and all the other next gen good stuff that comes with powerful hardware. We're looking forward, not back like Ninty. Leave us alone!

The reason the wii is doing so well is because nintendo is doing something different to sony and microsoft, or at least it pretends it is.

When microsoft/sony then go and completely rip off nintendos idea it is destroying the market. It's not good for anybody. Microsoft should stay focused on what they are doing and the users in their market instead of trying to have a bigger slice of the cake.

Also, it's major hypocritical that sony/microsoft 'fans' call the wii a toy and a gimmick but when their machine gets the same 'gimmick' its all fine, in fact it's great. Just shows how fickle some people are.
