That is because it is VGChartz. Remember the screwed up figures posted a short time ago for the US? Wait until NPD hits. All of these morons woofing it up will be completely silent at that time. 20 gig had it's price cut and is being heavily advertised without mention of hard drive capacity. PS3 is short on stock right now as well, so I wouldn't be too proud of yourselves just yet. The fact PS3 is even selling this many units in spite of higher price is surprising.

It's been revealed by Konami that they shipped 3 million copies of MGS4, and not 4 million. 2.7 million sold with 3 million shipped sounds about right. With 14.4 million ps3's out there that equals about 5.6% of ps3 owners that picked up MGS4. That is a horrible percentage.

Vgchartz doesn't include PS3/Bundles sales of MGS 4, this is strictly MGS 4 sales and Limited edition SKU sales. None of the 80 gig PS3/MGS 4 bundles or the limited limited edition 40 gig Gun grey metal PS3.

Up until a few days ago, the PS3 80GB bundle was number 1 or 2 OVERALL. That Gears of War 2 Lancer offer comes in AND a new model of the 360 and what are the results? There are still two models of the PS3 in the top 20 and a single model of the 360 can't even get in the top 30.

There are going to be some quiet people in here come NPD time and it won't be the people from the House of Sony.

NPD is an estimate too. It just happens to be a better US(not global) estimate than VGChartz.

VGChartz is getting better with time tho. To it's credit, it's the only one that does weekly updates, which is nice and a missed opportunity for NPD.

The US was the last stronghold for the 360. That has been battered down. Those Amazon figures show too much separation in the demand for the PS3 and 360 to be ignored.

And VGChartz has never been worthwhile. I have stated that when the PS3 is shown to be ahead here as well. Anyone doubting that can look it up. VGChartz does not have the access to industry the way NPD does. Since the US data reported by VGChartz is so far off the mark, I don't think they would suddenly be correct about sales worldwide.

I don't care if VGChartz updated every hour. The fact they provide weekly updates only means I am being lied to more often. I have a Magic * ball gag gift that can provide a more accurate console sale spicture.

And most importantly, no publisher looks at VGChartz and say, "Oh look, the trend is console such and such is picking up steam. Maybe we should reconsider this or that." No, But they do that with NPD.

wow and to think that Gears 2 is yet to come out... Metal Gears did really help the PS3.. without it PS3 sells would probably be half... smart thing from sony to secured Metal Gear solid... it seems like Gears 2 + microsoft price drop can easly cause Sony to be forced once again to drop the price of the PS3 again... The xbox 360 beat the PS3 for the 3-4 week in a roll... without any AAA title while the PS3 had Metal Gear... Sony better ready their guns.... Netflix + new Dashboard + Too human + Gears 2 + etc may play a trick on the PS3 if sony is not careful.... well of course unless Little Big planet becomes the new Super Mario and knock down Gears 2; which I doubt... if Metal Gear didn't break xbox 360 games records... Put into perspective, MGS4 has sold nearly 90 to 100,000 units a week for the last 3 weeks and sold more than this before this time. So, with it selling at 400,000 units just for America alone, these numbers are off.

Strong showing for the xbox 360, but no doubt do to the drop in price. I don't think it can maintain this ratio of sales world wide. Maybe America, but not world wide. I see Ps3 taking the lead back after next week.

This is going to be very though from now on. Too Human releases next week and marks the start of an avalaunch of eagerly anticipated titles on Microsoft's console in every region. I don't see Sony catching up much for the rest of the year, and xMas will definetly belong to Xbox.

I don't see Too Human as a system seller. I think most people that are Sony fans are waiting for a price drop and a better library of games. Heavenly Sword, Warhawk and Uncharted are not going to move to many systems. But this holiday when you add the exclusives Resistance 2, LBP Socom with great 3rd party lineups that are coming for both systems, Fallout 3, Farcry 2, COD:W@W, Force Unleashed, Guitar hero, PoP, Dead Space etc. Then those people will say ok the games are here time to buy a system, wait doesn't the 360 break alot? and you have to pay 50 bucks a year to play online? and it doesn't play Blu-ray? or have Wifi built in? I think I will spend the extra 50 bucks for the system that isn't gonna break and has WiFi built in.
