Just to comment on the Resistance vs Gears multiplayer...if gears had that many people i wouldn't want to play it. 60 people is WAY too much for Gears. It might work for resistance, but it just wouldn't for gears...though i doubt it'll work for resistance either, but we'll see.
and as for the number of guys on the screen during the single player, there will be a TON of guys on screen in gears campaign, but i'm just not sure how quantity improves the gameplay. It's a shooter, you can only shoot a few guys at once anyway, so all those extra guys are just gonna be runnin around shootin other things. Resistance developers keep bragging about their scale, but there is a point where it becomes too much... i think Resistance is going to cross that line. But like i said, i'm willing to wait and see. I just don't like that Hiphopgamer said Cliffy B can't make that statement cuz he hasn't played it yet, but then says he's wrong for the same reason. He never played the game either.

Guys. Ted Price was the first person to say that more people does not mean a better game to play online after 60 players online was announced for resistance 2. Thats why they have the squad and objective system where each squad of 8 people gets assigned to a certain objective which changes as the game moves along. There will always be a squad of the opposing faction that has the same target as you. This way they can manage to keep 60 players in the game without making the game chaotic.

Insomniac has proven themselves to be one of the worlds most skilled developers and i have no reason to believe anything else then that this is going to work very well. The multiplayer in resistance 1 was very good, and i am certain that it will be even better in resistance2

You can see the quality of the games in these video's. You can see there is a difference in the QUALITY of these games. You might have a preference for Third person or First person games....but the amount of polish...quality of environments/characters models, guns, lighting, textures and art direction is VASTLY superior in one of these games.

Some people are just desperate for something to have...to even compete. Resistance isn't in the same league as Gears and only PS3 fanboy's wish it to be. Why are we comparing Resistance with the sequel to Game of the Year 2006, again?? lol Gears 2 is a guaranteed megaton hit. I understand Insomniac are very good and efficient developers....some of the better in the industry, but they don't make games like Epic and haven't made these crazy shooters like Epic has...for years. Resistance 2 might be Insomniacs first truely good shooter title. Resistance:FOM was 'good' but no where near Gears in Quality. It looks the same for these games.

Take off the fanboy goggles. These games aren't of the same quality and it's extremely obvious.

Who knows though, right?? Lair and Haze were supposed to be huge. Maybe Gears 2 will fail and Resistance 2 will be the huge megaton....right???

I guess we'll see in a matter of about 3 months... I'm betting we see Gears 2 on top on Metacritic and I do love Insomniac...they make really fun games with lots of variety. But they make ALOT of games. If Resistance 2 was the only game being made instead of making like 3 games at a time lol... and releasing one every single year...Resistance 2 might would look up to par with Gears. Even the art direction and everything about Resistance is more generic and way weaker looking.

but you fail to see what quality really is. quality isnt just graphics even though a third person shooter and a first person shooter will look good in their own respective way cause they are totally different games, even though gears game play and graphics are really good its also an opinion whether you like them or not, what ISNT an opinion is the quality and if you really looked into each game you would see that resistance has way more quality than gears sorry. gears is a badass game but facts are facts.

listen here..... guns, content, enemys/action on screen, dynamics and physics all play a part in quality cause whether you like the game or not is an opinion.

resistanc: has more enemys and action on screen than gears, has more content due to blu-ray disc than gears, has more weapons cause every weapon has a unique secondary fire, has a much wider variety of enemys than gears, has a very good story from beginning in to end, the campaign story IS LONGER than gears and that speaks alot about QUALITY. overall resistance has more quality and thats NOT just my opinion. its facts. lighting textures/graphics have very little to do with quality even though resistance has phenomenal graphics and lighting, physics and textures.

GOTY '06, thats great but didnt ps3 come out at the END of 06???? and wasnt that when ps3 was getting ALOT of hate from the media???? cmon, get real buster.

lets not forget about online, resistance 20 vs 20 says alot about quality also even though its not right for gears (thats what you think) but resistance can do 4 vs4 and 5 vs 5 also and its still a great experience.

Criticism, guys. The sad thing is you're not even the one he's criticizing, man. I don't have anything against this guy, Hip Hop, but I've talked to him a few times about what he could do to improve his show and he's reluctant to take any advice.

What that says to me is he doesn't want outside input and that's fine, but to say that his videos are stellar is wrong on so many levels. I can cut his videos down to about 3 mins of solid material and they'd be great.

He needs to look into outside help for his productions if he ever wants to get accepted into the big leagues. Games blow had intricate cuts in his videos and they all proved a point, like the guy or not, he had better videos than this guy.

Soul Calibur IV is a crazy cool game.
Got it for the PS3 it's insane and it runs really smooth and plays well.
Qore 3 is really awesome because now I can get my hands finally on the Home Beta.
I also want to make out a few points about what you said about the 360/PS3.
360 only outsold the PS3 in America only 2 weeks out of the month but worldwide PS3 is outselling the 360 for that 1st place position in software.
Also even w/ the 360's price drop the PS3 is only $100 more.
For $100 more you get 1080P gaming, free online, a blu-ray player, 80Gb compared to 20Gb on the Premium for $300, plus you get all those amazing multiplatform games which are now showing that the PS3 handles better and it has the better graphics.
Plus your able to get betas for games that 360 doesn't have for their own games.
I don't really think the price drop really is gonna make a difference for the 360 to outsell the PS3.
The 360 barely has a line up for games for 2008 and none for 2009 that we know about.
Seriously now what do you have to look forward this Fall for the 360?
Only Gears of War 2 and Fable 2.

Listen everybody you guys say that i'm a fanboy this and that listen i've played Resistance 2 already ok i was at E3 and the game is incredible. Gears 2 was at E3 the game is incredible. I'm gonna have both games on day one. now look more doesn't always mean better of course it don't but let me put this into perspective. Cliffy B shout out to him he's real cool but Cliffy said that resitance 2 falls short of gears 2. 1 he doesn't explain why he's just saying that something that you guys here on N4G would say is a fanboy statement but it's understandable cause look it's his game he supposed to do that. but you can't say the game falls short because as far as gameplay there's more in resistance as far as action on screen, weapons, scale, bigger multiplayer , more multiplayer modes, and a good story. now things would be different if ted price said that then i would have to say that Gears 2 revolutionized third person gameplay , and gave you industry standard graphics, and even though the online didn't have a ton of people it works perfectly for the gears game but ted price didn't say anything cliffy did that's why i'm talking about it. I have to disagree with the points that Hip-Hop-Gamer seems to make in order to justify his views on why he feels (remember they are his opinions and he is entitled to them) RFOM 2 may be the better game - now he doesn't really say it will be a better game but he does come across that he seemed a bit insulted that Cliffy said what he said about RFOM2. I did get the impression that HHG is a bit biased and is pro Sony.

The FPV or 3rdPV shouldn't make the game better...just because the views are different.

60 player online doesn't mean a game will be amazing...Frontlines has 50 players with vehicles and that is a good game..not amazing but good.

Also both GEARS2 and RFOM2 have different online game options - Just because RFOM2 has 8 player campaign doesn't mean its going to be awesome - GRAW 1&2 had 8+ player online special campaign and it didn't make the game an amazing game - it is still just a good game...while GEARS2 has a HORDE mode which yes is also in GRAW 2 where you and you team stop onslaughts of Terrorist coming at you...

Sorry also - just because an enemy is huge doesn't mean the game is going to be amazing as well...remember its not the size that matters it's how well you use it...well atleast thats what my girlfriend says to me...

That was a lack of professionalism on Cliffy B's part. Ted Price was more humble and mature when you interviewed him on the comment. I think both 360 and ps3 owners will have good games on their hands when both titles get released.

Resistance Fall of Man is a solid game and Gears of War is highly regarded as one of the best and highest rated games of alltime.

Who's to say these additions to the franchise will be any different?

R2 has alot to prove if it wants to be held in the top tier spot along with Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3, Gears already proved it's serious about taking names and kicking ass.

It's kind of like saying Splinter cell 5 is going to be better then Metal Gear Solid 4 or Star Ocean 4 is going to be better then Final Fantasy XIII. They have alot of work to do.

The fact remains that Resistance 2 is pushing the bar more than Gears 2 is. We are talking about how much further the games are pushing the bar in regards to their previous games. If 5v5 works in Gears thats fine, but its not exactly a dramatic push over the previous 4v4. Yea we know his show needs improvements, but every week he takes time out of his own life to put together a show for people to enjoy. He voices his opinion every week in person and gives us his take on the industry's news. For that I would like to thank him for giving me something honest to watch. He has errors in speech and grammer, so what, so do I, and I think that makes him more human and easier to relate with.

i am looking for entertainment and a little heads up information on the newest games coming to ps3/360. He is trying to cover alot of topic in a 30 to 40 minute show. He not "deep sea fishing" for 8 to 10 hours on every topic. He is fly fishing 5 to 10 minutes per topic. You should always respect someone for taking the time out of their LIFE to make a blog or a video show for you entertainment / information.

Gears has a lot of problems with it's campaign mode/multi. No body talks about it. The single player mode was to short. The enemies were always stuck in glitches of bad dev workmanship. The wrenches would jump up and down in one spot over and over again. The locusts would take cover out of cover. The locust would take cover in the open next to cover spot. Gears only had 5 eneimeis at a time coming at you. Then a looong pause of action while walking then 5 enemies again. Gears has boards big enough for 10-15 enemies at a time because of the cover systems.(4/15= about 3 and some a piece). Gears2 will not have no more then 5 to 7 enemies at a time on the screen. The 360 can not cover it. I belive a split will happen with M$ and Epic will happen on Gears3. No body wants to double dev or shorten there games. Gears will be on the PS3 in the near future. i am not talking about the 100 enemies you shot with a machine gun before the next chapter starts. If you kill 99 out of 100; it will not make a difference to how many enemies you face in the next chapter.. You can just call that ullshiat at face value. The multi of gears is fun but broken.. I do not have time to break it down but trust me it broken with glitches / lag.

Resistance 1 was a great game. It had the longest and the funiest campaign to complete between both games. There were multi enemies / variety on the screen at once. The more the better. I have won over 500 1 against 40 player matches. There is no feeling greater then opening a can of whip rass on 40 players. The enemies in R1 played stiff when they attacked you. They would never duck behind cover. they would stand up and shoot;then slide behind cover or run right at you. When they ran at you shooting; it was very scare / fun. The color in R1 or lack of was not that great in the game. I think that was a design choice for the time period. R2 will have color and 60 multiple,8 multi player and a better campaign. R2 will win in terms of variety.

There might be some mistakes but who cares. this is what you call fly fishing writing in the long term way...lol Rbluetank is out..

Please play both games to a 98% or 100% completion and tell me then which had the most flaws... Gears period!! I have completed 55 of 57 achievements on Gears online. The first time i completed gears i was amazed. The second time through on a harder settings i noticed a lot of things wrong with the game. This is just facts based on playing the game to 100% off line completion compared to online 98% completions.

Please answer true or flaws to some of these flaws.

1) You can crab walk off line during the campaign and won't die because you are dead. You will be sliding across the board untouchable.

2) The online lag and glitching is the worst ever in a video game period. You can jump out of the board and kill people from every where on the board.

3) the enemies cover systems off line is broke! Period. The enemy will get stuck in glitches / animation by them selves. period! a well time grenade will kill the animation of the locust coming out of the ground. You can stop the 5 locusts from appearing. There is more but your brain is made of stone and the truth will not change your feelings.

They rushed this game out the doors.. They now have time and it will be about the same as the last game. (5 chapters). There will be no four player mutil is just garbage. The online will be fun;but even a butcher like to eat salad after cutting up all those body parts and ect... lol This is why Gears 2 will be flat and there is nothing new but a halo gun (aka brute) and spike grenade replicated with a gears twist. lol You got mad at me but did not answer the statements about the game as true or flawed. this must mean that it was true on what i said... about gears.

R1
1)Did have bad design flawed enemies ai compared to FEAR AI enemies.

2)I played against some people as in a few who did a shotgun glitch with lag. they would pop around the board and shoot and try to pop away. There was always one person glitching and not everybody when i played online. the off line game did not have any flaws beside it not having great color /graphics. the game was very well done compared to what it did have.. guns ect..

3)The eneimes did not fall into glitches or animation loops like Gears. i already covered how they acted up above.. R1 did have flaws with the enemies AI. They would always be standing up and not duck when you are firing bullets at them.. This needs to be fixed and not with that HAZE jump /roll ullshiat. that stuff is not enemies AI... lol

Please let me know if you seen more problems with both games then i described..

Hmmm - you make a lot of points there - i wouldn't totally agree with you on some but i would totally agree with you on others...however i am suprised that the reviews didn't point out all these flaws and still Gears got better rating than RFOM - maybe there was more positives in Gears than Negatives...something that you have chosen not to focus on. I have played both and i would have to disagree and say I felt Gears was the All Around better experience. But that's just my opinion.

I will agree with you as well. There is always a fine line when judging games. Gears was fun and R1 was fun. I like R1 better for different reasons. This does not make me a bad person. This just makes me someone who plays games on both systems.

I totally agree with your rational thinking rbluetank - exactly, just becuse you liked R1 doesn't mean your a bad person, ppl just have different tastes...but atleast you're not ignorant on the subject becuase you chose to play both and then made an opinion based on playing both.
