Site was dead on last week with this particular feature. These are generally very accurate. The site isn't banned - the authors make no money from ads and these posts are approved weekly.
You may not like the site, but this specific weekly feature is generally one of the best sneak peaks you can find before the official release in 7+ hours.

beast5739d ago (Edited 5739d ago )

1) False FFVII info
2) Major exclusive announcement of Hardware 2 and Pics on Aug 3rd. Then retraction AFTER the hits. Doesnt matter if they are ads or not. Its the HITS and having your name known. There is NOTHING NEW in this rumor. I can get you other sites with Similar RUMORS. The update will be up in few hours. Wait for the FACT.

EDIT: O'Rly

Even after stating "New direction" in there site he still came here and asked for a poll to place the pics or not

" Anyone else still want to see the Hardware 2 screens?

Agree if you want to see the screens, Disagree if you want me to just shut up and retire already... lol " (agree 109- disagree 6)

His comment 1.3 : http://www.n4g.com/NewsCom-...

Hence completely knowing he wont post or have the pics he still toyed with the user. Take away my bubbles but THIS IS FACT

HighDefinition5739d ago

Has been great. They bring more factual info than say ......Kotaku.

Yes they held some thing back, but you/we don`t know the reasons.

MikeGdaGod5739d ago

i doubt they're just going after hits with these stories since all of the info is on this page. you don't have to go to the source. it's right here.

my two cents......

UGA_15739d ago

If I had a gaming site I would also try to increase my returning visitor base before monetizing the site or asking for donations to help support "hosting costs"

With that being said who cares if the site has ads on it currently, that could easily change or the site could be bought out and monetized later.

The fact of the matter is that there was suppose to be a BIG reveal on the 3rd of August and that did not happen, so at this point...

...why should I waste my time visiting that site?

Sev5738d ago

@ UGA
Thats fine, don't visit the site.

You have no idea what our site features anyway.

We never once have asked for "Dontations" for hosting costs or anything like that.

Recently we made a post, about PS3Attitude who was looking for donations, to support his "DONTATION" to charity. The admin there was jumping out of a plane, and asking for sponsors (much like a walk for hunger, etc) so he can donate it to charity.

God forbid we support something noble and respectful.

Panipal20055738d ago (Edited 5738d ago )

@ Sev

When will you learn to not keep coming here trying to justify your douchebaggery and whining over being slammed and flamed? Because you think you have some unique right to act like a d**k and not get called on it? Get back to your own worthless site, where you can CONTROL things like that...by banning people and deleting comments like a thin-skinned little b**** because you think only sycophants count. I've also seen you running round here there and everywhere, spouting this sort of guff, trying to justify yourself, which you wouldn't feel the need to do if you didn't have an uneasy conscience over d***ing people around. Am I right?

I'm sure you'd like to starting doing this pathetic justifying behaviour @ NeoGaf too, one more outlet for your ugly whining...thankfully, I doubt NeoGaf'll so much as give you an account if you tried applying, but then you wouldn't, would you? You wouldn't exactly want to be treated yourself the way you treat others, being the cowardly soul that you are. Banning people. Deleting their comments. That's what happens to OTHER people! Right?

You're a c***roach, if you don't like being stepped on, GTFO

Do we have to have these 'rumoured' store content stories every week? Why don't we just wait a few hours and post the ACTUAL store content??

I could understand these stories if it was a few days before, but hours before the actual update?

StalkingSilence5739d ago

last week I got it up 2 days ahead of time. i'm trying guys, it's just hard to collect all the info and manage it here. if you want to see what's going on for the rest of august, just check my full thread: http://boardsus.playstation...

Hint:
- Next week = Bionic Commando ReArmed, Blu-ray PS3 theme, possibly PS1 classic of Driver, possibly Life with PlayStation - if not this week then next
- August 21 = Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty, possibly Linger in Shadows
- August 28 = The Last Guy, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed [demo], and Warhawk 1.5 patch (maybe new booster pack for $$ as well)

MikeGdaGod5739d ago

i appreciate the stories, even if i don't have my ps3 to play on :-(

Mr_Bun5739d ago

Thanks for the upcoming preview....I agree that it would be more helpful if we could get the rumor before the day of the actual update. I am sure that Sony is waiting around 'til an hour before deciding what to put on the PS Store.

A few days would be preferable, but a few hours will do fine for me.

Harry1905739d ago

Is the DLC going to be free?

StalkingSilence5739d ago

the civilization revolution DLC will not be free...
It cost 3.99 pounds (5.99 euros) in EU today. seems a little steep.
anyway, you said it's been confirmed for US, do you have a link?

ZombieNinjaPanda5739d ago

Pixel Junk Eden, come out last week?

StalkingSilence5739d ago

good catch, it was a mistype. i will update the N4G submission. thanks for pointing it out so i don't confuse anyone. it's not in the full article on PSLS

Sev5738d ago

@ PlayStation Man

The author who wrote the false FFVII announcement has been removed from the site.

And for the Hardware 2 screens, we have our reasons for not releasing them. We weren't just trying to piss people off.

The Argument for Battlefield: Bad Company Remakes

With the franchise’s mainline entries failing to find their footing in recent years, now is the perfect time for a Battlefield: Bad Company remake.

gamerant.com
thorstein112d ago

Of course there is no counter argument. This is what fans of the franchise have wanted for years. This and/or BF Bad Company 2.

When asked why there hasn't been another Bad Company:

“There's one thing that lingers with Bad Company that we've been asking ourselves: What is it that the people really liked about Bad Company?" DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson told Eurogamer.

Troedsson says that he and his team can’t put their fingers on what it is that people loved about that branch of the brand. “It's hard for people to articulate what that is, which is actually hard for us,” he says. “It would be hard to remake something like that. Can we do it? Of course. We have our theories when it comes to the multiplayer."

I always activate the Black Weapon on BFV Solomon Islands for all the BC2 fans who hear/recognize it, thus starting the events of BC2 on BF5 :)

Derrrunnn. Derrrunnn.

Tody_ZA112d ago (Edited 112d ago )

What is so hard to understand for them?

Bad Company 2 is one of the best and most memorable games in the series because:
- It was class-based (duh)
- Heavy focus on squads
- Substance over map size or gimmicks
- Fantastic and realistic gun play
- Well designed maps
- Destructible environments (why has this been minimised so hard in the series? You could demolish buildings in bad company 2 with some well placed C4
- Great progression system and variety in play
- No stupid CoD imitations or focus on the store over the game
- It was *drumroll* incredibly good fun?
- It was unmistakably BATTLEFIELD

INMATEofARKHAM111d ago

Probably should add a fun campaign to the list.

Battlefield Legacy - Sunsetting Announcement

EA: "As we close in on 15 years since the release of Battlefield 1943, and Bad Company™ 1 & 2, we are announcing that their journey is coming to an end."

darthv72399d ago

This reminds me... I have ME on my PS3 hdd. Never really played it, but it was free.

XiNatsuDragnel399d ago

Digital future ppl is good they say nope imo

Eidolon399d ago

And it still says nothing about being able to downloaded even when it's off the storefront, that's a huge ouchie for some who somehow still have it in their backlog...

Shane Kim399d ago

Dont make it an issue when it's not. If you haven't played it in 15 years, chances are you'll never play it.

isarai399d ago

That all digital future sure looks great!

/s

zidane1341399d ago (Edited 399d ago )

Online game servers shut off eventually all the time. Doesn’t matter if you have the disc or not. Even if you have the disc, it’ll be just paperweight unless the game lets you connect directly to a friend or LAN play.

isarai399d ago (Edited 399d ago )

Read the article bro. They are delisting the games, including mirrors edge which is an offline game. Online servers i can understand, not being able to buy/download the games anymore? Completely separate issue, especially seeing as how some these games had lengthy sp campaigns and not just mp.

zidane1341399d ago

@israrai, you can still buy the disc for less then 10$. Hardly a loss.

TheEnigma313399d ago

You shouldn't have to buy the disc, that's the issue.

OhReginald399d ago (Edited 399d ago )

Some brilliant minds created servers to keep these old online games alive. A lot of ps2 and ps3 games that had there servers shut down a long time ago have been restored by fans to keep it going. Warhawk, killzone 2, socom 2/ confrontation, resident evil outbreak series, etc.

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 399d ago
DankSinatra399d ago

The disc still exist. I don’t understand the issue. You guys are upset about that “all digital future” yet these games are not “digital only”. Hell digital only is a minority in the gaming world and so far we haven’t moved into it, the only digital only games are games as a service or online only games, which end up failing in the end.

This is no different than a store that stops selling old games, just go and buy a copy somewhere else. So which is it, you hate all digital or you like it? Make up your mind.

isarai398d ago

Talk about missing the point entirely. I'm not going to sit here and explain it to you, figure it out.

DankSinatra398d ago

Talk about whining about something and not wanting to explain from an off handed sarcastic original comment.

I got the point just fine. You’re literally complaining about something that has an easy alternative to it.

ManMarmalade398d ago

I don't think you got the point

DankSinatra398d ago (Edited 398d ago )

@ManMarmalade

No I got it, it has to do with the push towards a future of all digital and reprocussions of losing games. Something I already stayed that hasn’t happened nor is it large enough right now to cause any issues as the games that are all digital are online only to begin with or make up the minority of games

So I’ll say it again, the disc still exists for these games that are over a decade old and can still be played easily. You guys are contradicting the whole “we don’t want a digital only future” crying when the dude I originally responded to stated:

“Read the article bro. They are delisting the games, including mirrors edge which is an offline game. Online servers i can understand, not being able to buy/download the games anymore? Completely separate issue, especially seeing as how some these games had lengthy sp campaigns and not just mp.“

So again, which is it? Do you hate all digital or do you want it?

Inverno399d ago

On PC I don't think it's much of a problem but I'm sad to see BF43 being shut down. I haven't played it in a while since it's stuck on PS3, but i preferred it way more over BF3. It was the lack of invisible barriers which made it better for me.

badz149399d ago

BFBC2 was still the best overall package offered by the franchise so far IMO

porkChop399d ago

Absolutely. BC2 was such a great game. It's a shame we never got BC3.

P_Bomb398d ago

I had a great run on Bad Company 2. Pound for pound, as solid a BF package as there’s been.

InUrFoxHole399d ago

Does anyone play the last BF anymore? I searched crossplay servers and it was 20 people the most on all the servers? Can never find a game

SonyStyled399d ago

The last BC you mean? I was still able to find 10v10 on ps3 2 years ago on NA servers during the evenings. I have all the free and paid dlc installed, but there want any matches in the Vietnam dlc.

Rock Band Doesn't Need Plastic Instruments to Work

TheGamer Writes "Harmonix has proven plenty of times it can make Rock Band work without instruments."

thegamer.com
Christopher484d ago

I mean, yeah, but was anyone saying otherwise? The fact is people liked the plastic instruments rather than pressing buttons on a controller. They enjoyed the simulated experience.

isarai484d ago

"Work"? No, but to be good? It's absolutely necessary. Not having the accessories is like playing a lightgun shooter with an analog stick sure it works, but one experience is completely unique and fun as hell, and other is torture trying to make do playing in a way it was never meant to be played

LucasRuinedChildhood484d ago (Edited 484d ago )

"trying to make do in a way it was never meant to be played"

I disagree. The accessories were a fun gimmick (and very marketable) but they were added AFTER the genre had been well established with games like Frequency and Amplitude (both also made by Harmonix).

The gameplay formula is different on a controller - there's a focus on switching lanes and contributing to all of the instruments.

Never played Frequency, but Amplitude and Rock Band Blitz were really good. I would love to get more of that kind of game. It's basically a different part of the genre, and stands on its own.

isarai483d ago

The insurmountable difference in popularity between Amplitude and Rock Band proves my point

LucasRuinedChildhood483d ago (Edited 483d ago )

Popularity isn't proof of quality. If it was, then Harmonix wouldn't be making music for Fortnite now. lol. Our disagreement wasn't over which one is more popular. Amplitude and Blitz just aren't "torture" to play.

Rock Band 4 and Guitar Hero Live failed to revive their sub-genre, and Rock Band 4 caused Mad Catz to have to file for bankruptcy. Doesn't mean that instrument-based music games are bad.

It does mean that there's too much overhead and risk for anyone to take a gamble on a big budget game that needs instrument accessories now though.

For the genre to thrive, for now, it needs to do so without the instrument accessories. That's just a fact, unfortunately.

VR games like Beat Sabre (a new sub-genre) and traditional music games make more sense and are more viable right now.

LucasRuinedChildhood483d ago (Edited 483d ago )

*"If quality is always proved by popularity, then Harmonix wouldn't be making music for Fortnite now."

Yi-Long484d ago

I think CHEAP plastic instruments is THE reason why the instrument-genre ‘died’.

People invested in buying the game AND the peripherals, so the guitar, the dj-set, the drum, whatever, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. Great fun, great music, etc.

But then the instruments would break. A button would stop working, or your hits wouldn’t register, and that kind of hardware failure would end in you not being able to play the game as intended, and thus you not getting the scores you deserve.

So, now you had a great game, but a broken instrument, and nobody is gonna buy a new plastic instrument every 3-6 months in order to keep playing the game.

A solution would have been to release better quality instruments (obviously), at a slightly higher price, so you could have kept the new games coming and the genre alive, but sadly, that didn’t happen.

dumahim483d ago (Edited 483d ago )

The only issue I ever had with any of the hardware was the drum pedal on the original rock band set stared to crack in half. The reason I, and other friends I know who played, lost interest is they weren't putting out new tracks that we were interested in anymore. I think earlier this year I looked through the releases for the last 2 years or so, and there was maybe 3 songs I would have bought.

slayernz483d ago

Yeah I had this happen too with my drum controller, I ended up attaching a metal strip to it which fixed it up nicely.

sinspirit484d ago

Can it work? Yes. Does it compare? No.

monkey602483d ago

Bust a Groove, Gitaroo Man and Parrapa the Rappa were such good games. Neither needed any extra peripherals
