PLAY preview: Quantum Of Solace

Nothing stamped home Activision's recent domination over EA than the acquisition of the Bond name. This licence to print money is arguably the strongest movie tie-in brand of them all, and after a lacklustre few years under the guise of Canada's publishing giant, Activision has swooped in, signed up Daniel Craig and put its workhorse team at Treyarch at the helm. So everyone's a winner, huh? Not necessarily...

Despite all of the buzz and tenuous excitement, the glaring fact that Bond games are rarely anything other than mediocre seemed to disappear into the background. But after a lengthy hands-off demo, courtesy of Treyarch and Activision, PLAY came away with an unmistakeable feeling in our guts. Indifference.
