You forgot there is a strike in Europe. and this is not including the Bundle i bet you. this 450k is just solo copy, just look at the PS3 hardware sales you will know what i mean. Usually it sells like 80k, so that means rest of it is probalby Bundle. so it did sell 1 million on day one.

Ops, sorry i read the numbers wrong. My bad, maybe it didn't sell that much so its 800k then i guess. Sorry about that. But there was a strike though on the carrier freight. That part is accuracy. peace out.

edit: some people have worked out from chartrack published data (in famitsu march edition) about how well prolouge did in the uk opening week and the fact that chartrack say Mgs did 2000 better so theoratically speaking Mgs 'allegedly' did between 108,000 to 112,000. I personally don't think uk market is the biggest market in europe, nor 1/4 of it...so the figure in my opinion should be higher.

As for Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution... i expected match, match more. Sid Meier's forget consoles and come back to PC where you belong :)

i dont see how MGS4 is going to be ps3 best selling title with such a low sales debut of 400k compared with GTA4 at 1.2 million.

This is so inaccurate! How can you have weekly totals on Mgs4 when it came out on the 12th and at max you have 2 days of sales data? How? It's stupid!

Sales for a game split week released should not be calculated until the following week. It's like When Iron man came out over the long weekend. It came out Wed and they counted it's entire 5 day run to monday as its weekend. It's absurd! You can't do that.

Mgs4 should've been totaled up next week. From the 12th to the 19th. Simple as that.

Yes, the game is doing really good and it managed to nearly double PS3 hardware sales in the launch week.

Things will become more interesting from now on. How will the PS3 do after MGS4? Will it boost sales consistently or will this effectlast just a couple of weeks?

It's also worth thinking that, now that MGS4 is out, which console is looking better for the second Half of the Year? Uhm...

I already have my own answer to the last question, but E3 should really tell the whole story.

I think it would have been more it the game was actually release worldwide on June 12. Some country such as Spain have to wait until the 17th to get MGS4 because of a Strike or something by the drivers of delivery trucks. If it wasn't for that problem, it would have sold a lot more.

I thought it was more important for MGS4 to move consoles. I'm pretty sure nobody expected it to outsell GTAIV in terms of software, but it's doing a good job of moving hardware so far. It's actually doing a MUCH better job than GTAIV did.

Metal Gear Solid 4 definantly had a good opening in Europe for the first 2 days and the PS3 is slowly overtaking the 360 in Europe with each passing week, and according to that list, GTA4 has sold more units on the PS3 than the Xbox 360 in Europe, pretty impressive. And I had expected Ninja Gaiden 2 to be higher up on the European charts than it was. MGS4 definantly gave the PS3 a boost worldwide, that's for sure.... MGS4 is one of the many games that potential PS3 owners have been waiting for, so it's no surprise to see MGS4 at the top of the charts in Europe.
