Hydro....GTA IV id DEFINITELY not the MOST overhyped game ever...that would EASILY be Halo 3....that game was mediocre, but was HYPED TO HELL AND BACK.

Can you find any game like Grand Theft Auto 4 that can surpass the level of detail you can do? Grand Theft Auto 4 is the best it gets as of today. 2 Days to Vegas and The Getaway might pull off better environments besides that everything else isn't going to surpass it.

It's like saying Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots suck and wanting another Action Stealth game better than it. You just played the most in depth, stealth action oriented, war game ever created. It's like being on the top of the pedestal and wants to go higher.

Two real games that didn't deserve the hype was Halo 3 and Haze both of them didn't live up to anything.

While I don't agree with this trailer on a moral level (I don't like it when people make a big show of how much better they are than the competition) it is bloody funny.

GTA IV for me, as well as many others, WAS a let down. Once the story is over there's not much to do. While the story is taking place there's not much to do so you end up just doing missions which means it ends faster leaving you with even less to do. Rockstar seem to have got lost in all the fancy lighting techniques and realistic animations and now can't find there way to the mindless fun department of the GTA Supermarket.

It was brave taking a new angle but now they've pushed themselves out of the market that they created and left a nice Saints Row 2 shaped arse groove on the thrown of sandbox supremacy.

GTA4 was hyped and reviews were fixed, id give it a 6/10 myself...Story was good but got lack luster later on...Constant nagging from people who want to do eat, drink, play pool, darts, bowling, f%#k me, etc, im sorry im busy killing people and doing bad things, let me get back to you...then they don't like me and send me a text msg of how im not there for them....well excuse me....100 + hrs in gta 4 is right if you deal with everyone who calls you on a daily bases.. Graphics great, driving...people complained but it was different and done well, its not the worst thing in the game...weapons, don't get me started on what was left out...anyways Saints row looks more promising for Gta style destruction, we'll see how it bodes with story... Be interesting to see what exclusive content will be on the 360, and still curious about the vice city expansion that will come out

I have to disagree. Not in the "clicking disagree" sense, but in the more mature "verbal" sense. I loved the Halo 3 campaign and felt it was certainly overhyped, but turned out to be a great experience anyway. Excellent balancing, cinematic action and an astounding scale with no noticable drop in frame rate. It was a non-stop solid action fest, with incredible refinement. The co-op was fantastic too, me and my friends could really cut loose there without getting in eachother's way. No, the graphics weren't photorealistic, but i'm getting really tired of developers trading scale and frame rate for great graphics.

Conversely, I haven't tried Halo 3 multiplayer yet. Probably never will, but I doubt it would change my opinion much. Halo 3 was given god-like hype, but it deserved very heavy praise. It really made up for Halo 2.

Honestly Saints Row (One) was more fun than GTA4. I expect SR2 to better than the first. I may trade my GTA4 for this but I havent tried online yet (internet not hooked up yet just mooved) and will wait for the DLC. I hope RS takes notes from SR2 for the DLC.

GTA4 was not as fun for me as saints row 1 was. yeah it's an achievement of a game but where people are commenting on how good the story is ..? Sorry it's just not that good. There's practically no story to it. Not saying saints row was better, but at least there was a twist.

this game looks fun and all but theirs only room for 1 brand name sand box game in my collection and thats GTA. i didnt like saints row 1, so your going to have to show me more than san andreas graphics and a diss gta trailer to get my attention. you can base jump in sanandreas, you can rob stores in vice city, you can spray people with fire trucks in all of them, you can mess with the monster truck in sanandreas (ive had enough with that), it dosent seem like im missing out on anything. im sure they have the fun factor down, but its not my kind of game, gta is good enough.

This game will be far more fun than GTA4. This is because like alot of games recently R* traded fun to try and make a game as realistic as possible. I dont want reality, its damn video game, it is supposed to be fun. Look at Halo and Metal Gear some people say they are cartoonish and unrealistic but that is not the point they are fun. Saints Row lets you do outrageous things and they are a blast, GTA3 you are bound by real life which is why the missions are so bland.

The original Saints Row was one of my favorite games for the 360 and as long as THQ just works on some improvements this could be a really solid game. It won't beat GTA because it doesn't have every member of the press ready to drop their shorts for it, but a game doesn't have to get a 10 to be good.

Alot of the things that I like about SR over GTA were a customizable Character, more choices in terms of the look of your character(clothes,tats,jeweler y)and the game is just alot more fun compared to GTAIV, maybe it's just my opinion but it feels like Rockstar tried too hard to make the game much more serious than it should have been.

To be honest I went into the first Saint's Row expecting the fun of Driv3r, but was pleasantly surprised. It seemed in it's almost shameless copying of San Andreas that they actually made a decent game, and now that I look back on it had a few features that I found better implemented than SA as well. Oh and Insurance Scamming was a blast.

Looks like they're trying to grab that over the top action/dark humor crown that GTA4 seemed to have left somewhere. As long as they don't try to take themselves too seriously, which doesn't seem at all likely, then they'll fair fine and I'll actually pick up the game.

what we wanted to play they would have released SR2 at the same time R* released GTA4. SO why didnt they? because they KNOW GTA4 would have smasshed the sh1t out of SR2.

Since GTA3, the GTA games have had fairly serious story lines, there wasn't much to do in GTA3, but they introduced new stuff in VC and SA. At least GTA4 has motorcycles and helicopters, even if they did leave out the rampages, but really, do you need to run over a glowing icon before you go on a killing spree? It seems like Rockstar was trying to make a next gen engine that would really show of the improved technology, and they have done so very well. What they have made is extremely polished and playing the game feels damn good.

Saint's Row was a good game, and its sequel probably will be too, but you can tell that they were just trying to rip off San Andreas for the first one. Unfortunately, they focused on adding feature after feature without making sure that they were putting a finished product out there. As a result, the game was full of bugs as well as streaming and framerate issues.

GTA4 is virtually bug-free; it has some streaming issues, but they are minimal even using only the 360's disc drive. Hopefully Saint's Row 2 will be a bit more polished, and the activities should be a blast, but it's the second game in the series. Look for Rockstar to add a slew of features in the next GTA game.

THQ is smart, they waited for GTA IV to come out and see everyones opinions on what they like about the game and what they don't, and then they added all the activities that should of been in GTA IV to SR2. I'm sure they will add lots of more fun stuff to do. You guys might be right, MAYBE they story in SR2 won't be as good as GTA IV and the graphics won't be as good either, but I have a feeling this game will be alot more fun than GTA IV, IMO. I love GTA IV, but the multiplayer is getting more boring and boring as the days goes by. I have personally thought of Saints row as nothing more then a GTA rip-off and thats all it will ever be, all be it a very good rip-off..

but what i found interesting is the message with in this vid; bottom line, GTA 4 just went off in the wrong direction. It forgot what made it so much fun to start with and put in all these mini games and things to do which at first seemed really cool, but then if you take into account all the stuff they left out just to have these things, it then becomes clear how GTA failed.

do i really want to keep having to go bowling every 5 min just to keep my friends happy ? no, not really. Yes i would rather have a gang turf war like i did in GTA San, get my friends to jump in the car and take over some other gangs block.

I loved being able to clear roof tops doing supper jumps of staircases, but you simply could not do that in GTA4 cos the bikes were just so uncontrollable and you would just go flying off them...
though to be fair i didn't mind the cars that much.

I sat down and watched the TV once, thought ya thats cool and never did it again. If it was integrated into the actually story or game play then ya it would have meant something.

At least in GTA san, the mini games like the gym, and the boxing had a practical effect on your character. You changed fighting styles etc. Going to the comedy show, cool the first time, but then after...

I do still think GTA is a great game and i have had a lot of fun with it. I would not say the game is crap or anything and i don't agree with a lot of the reasons why other people have disliked it, but i do agree with what this vid points out; GTA4 was lacking in content and it did go off in the wrong direction.

I don't see any reason why R* could not have kept the real look and feel of the city in GTA 4 and still include all the mad stuff that you could do in gta vice & gta san.

i respect saints row and all, but what I dont like is that there is absolutely NO originality in their designs and gameplay......I mean atleast TRY to make your game LOOK different and FEEL different but no, just go and copy the formula that worked before in other series and add a few activities which makes is a COMPLETELY different game

Day one purchase for me.. I really enjoyed the first one, I just hope they add some new and fun activities. The customization on this game will be crazy(But, not as much as APB's). I'm really curious to see how the story pans out now, after the fact that you got betrayed in the first game, argh! And, HOPEFULLY, the main character will actually talk.. at least some.

and Saints Row was not. SR was the first open type game I ever owned. I was never a GTA fan. The gameplay is a little better in SR but the Story in GTA is way better. I find shooting in GTA to be a tough task, but it's better in SR. I like GTA but it's not the end all of gaming. It's great that we have more open style games to choose from as gamers. Die hard GTA fans should not feel like they are being threatened by SR, because competition always helps the consumer.

Argh! Can't believe I went to that stupid midnight launch to pick up GTA4. What a waste of time, I could've just waited a few days to get it from a store. After finishing it and seeing everything there was to see (not the stupid 200 pigeons) and playing multi-player about 5 times, it has not been inside my console.

GTA:SA > GTA4! Without a shadow of a doubt. I was playing GTA:SA months after I had finished it.

This looks like great fun, and I'm not one of those idiots that prefers graphics over gameplay. If it's fun, I'm buying it.

Hopefully it doesn't have too many bugs or many things wrong with it, we'll see....

They really stepped it up. I only got the first one because I needed something to hold me over for that genre until GTA:IV. Saint Row tp me is a better game and I'v always said that. Love the AI mechanics(group or gang systems there is simply more going on than just doing missions and avoiding cops.
I'v glad PS3 fans are finaly respecting this series now that its on PS3 too lol.

PS3 graphically IS superior to the 360, accept it. well 360 has more RAM tho maybe, so it's prob better to say they both have their strengths/weaknesses. but overall I do believe the PS3 is the best for graphics, and after the recent multiplats that are starting to have a slight edge on the PS3 I think we can see that finally.

not that 360 owners have anything to worry about necessarily. I love to remind the droids of N4G that (excluding Dreamcast) PS2 was LEAST powerful graphically last-gen and of course we all know how it dominated anyway.

first of all Saits Row 1 is better than GTA4 so no doubt part 2 will be better.
Why are you guys so stuck on saying SR copied GTA. Well then GTA copied driver (which was the first 3d sandbox game). GTA just added more crap to the Driver formula just like SR did to GTA.
The first Saints Row came with a lot of new stuff like physics, the cell phone thing, and actual fun stuff to do. I also loved how you can take over neighborhoods and expand your property. Being able to customize all the cars besides cops and special vehicles was awesome as well.GTA4 copied from Saints Row as well, they input physics, online, cell phone, being able to get drunk and stuff like that.

I remember when people talked about Saints Row like it was good. The story sucks, besides online it sucked. And the online sucked as well but was only big because GTA never had it.

The only problem I have with GTA is the side missions suck and are boring. Even collecting pigeons in this one is boring because the reward isn't as good as the previous hidden packages.
