Sales for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 ranked fourth in overall sales in the latest Japan retail data.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the PS3 sold 10,177 units between Apr. 28 and May 4.
By comparison, the latest Playstation hardware moved 9,107 units the week prior.
Additionally, the PS3 ranked one title in the top ten software sales, Valkyria at No. 8, selling 24,422 copies.
NPD Group Inc. in Apr. reported that the PS3 sold 257,120 units in Mar. U.S. sales to rank as the No. 5 video game hardware for the month.
Key current titles for the PS3 include Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Konami Corp.'s June release Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in June.
